Nice stuff. Thanks. I am restoring my 2nd gen. mainly for street-level use. Its main purpose is to carry my music gear around to gigs and for camping. For upgrades, my goal is to modernize the interior to be more like my wife's Venza.
Heck ya it looked good. A locker would be awsome. That 1st gen was tight. I'm still looking for another 2nd gen. One day i wil be back in the 3 slow crew.
Very nice I have a 95 SR5 4X4 V6 auto just rebuilt heads decked new Intake and exhaust valves valve seats valve guides cams and shims and head gaskets. Doesn’t leak a drop runs perfectly it’s nearly pristine white/ tan interior. If the head gaskets were never done start educating yourself on how to do em proper. I did the whole job myself. Don’t cheap out I didn’t change water pump it blew a month after I did the heads and besides the older design sucks the impeller barely moves any water.. I gotta new Aisin made in Japan and it moves a lot more water and shave a few degrees off my “in traffic Ac on in AZ” temps
It was definitely easier than I thought. Hardest part honestly was finding and installing the brake pedal clutch pedal box. Also, be sure to use looong extension with some u joints to get them transmission bolts off. I was able to do it on mine without lifting the truck since I'm already lifted
Love your videos, I’m living vicariously through your hilux. wishing I could take my forester on those nasty trails at hidden falls but knowing I’d get stuck right away haha
Hello from.Alabama. Bought my 4runner '95 over a year ago. It has been a money pit. Occasionally runs ok. SLOW SLOW 3.0 is right. I've replaced distributor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc. etc. My latest issue is the MAF sensor. Purchased a new one from Amazon, not a Denso but not a cheap one either. It will not run !! Put the old one back on , removed the cover to adjust the door tension. All I know to do. It might idle ok one day, next day, nope. Am I missing something?? Don't wanna remove the cover from the $200 one but, I know it won't run . Frustrating at best. Can you advise of a link or such about Toyota 4runner 3vze that I can refer to as I tackle different issues ??? I have the Haynes book but, it lacks the detail I need. Next is Knock Sensor wiring harness replacement. I'm sure you know what a pain I'm in for. Can u help ?? Please ?? Thanks, T.S.
Well , 3.Slow gang. Yall utube bruhs are obviously your own best fans. If there was anything to ya , you'd help with some knowledge. Keep it. Sold the junk 4runner, Chevy all the way. See ya in the mud. Behind me !!!
Are these old Toyotas pretty capable with out factory center or rear lockers? I have 91 22re for awhile but never got into lifting or taking it on trails. Whats a good lift kit, all i can find is the Rough Country. I have Bilstein 6112s on my gx470 and it rides super good.
I like your stuff man. Would be cool to see more videos of you guys actually working on the stuff when you can and maybe more details on what your working on? For example i saw in a previous video jake mentioned he had done some work and removed some vacuum lines to clean things up in the engine bay. Maybe next time you could have hime explain in a little more detail and explain the what why and how about the lines and the work he did in the engine compartment. Love the vids though. It keeps my inspiration to continue working on my 95 runner.
Thanks for the feedback!! We gotta teach jake how to film 😂 only reason that stuff doesn’t appear is because I’m at work while he’s working and I can’t spend all day cuz I got a wife and kids, but I need to buy a GoPro so he can film and document when I’m not there because we do get a lot of request for more detailed stuff 👍🏼
We plan on doing a 3vze overhaul soon showing the technical stuff. I can definitely do an explanation on the vacuum lines, however it disables emissions and won’t pass a smog check. Thanks for the comment!
Ok sounds good. Yeah an overhaul video would be cool to watch! I am looking forward to that one now. I am looking to getting mine ready for overlanding soon as i have been working on rusty brake and fuel lines recently. Thanks for your replies. I’ve watch almost all of the videos so far and now that i am caught up i wait for the new video every week now haha. Keep it up guys.
Hey guys! I live in Austin and just got my 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro trail ready with bumper, 12k winch, Spod, lights, skidmark skidplate, etc. Can I wheel with you guys next outage? Got all the recovery gear and the like to be of help where needed!
Hello guys, I’m making the same swap in my 2gen 4runner but it won’t start. I do the bridge between neutral and parking safety cables but the starter switch just doesn’t work. Can you help me up?
Ooooooohh, be nice to that Runner. Feather that pedal. Pretend there's an egg between your foot and the gas pedal. Easy now. Easy. Go slow. Be nice to the Runner and it will treat you goooood! No rough roads!
anyone know where i might be able to find those style rims on the 2nd gen 4runner? I really like them but have only found 1 place that sells them, if anyone knows the name of the rims please let me know
why dont you guys run lockers in at least the rear axle? spartan lockers are cheap and work great, plus you dont tear up the trails,or your car so much.
Thanks for watching! Please support us by subscribing and liking this video. Thanks y’all! -David
What size tires does the blue runner have?
Do you have a video from the swap? I swear you did but I can't find it

I have a perfect 2nd gen for sale.
Ugh, 2nd gens are so beautiful 😍
awesome video! just started working on a 1993 4runner! love the content
As a 2nd gen owner it nice to see some new content. What size km3 are they? 31?
Thanks!! I’m pretty sure they are, gotta have Jake chime in
33x10.5x15
Thanks for the reply. I thought they looked bigger but it's hard to tell on video. I like the proportions on your no lift 4runner.
@@jakethesnake3451 No lift with 33's?
Agile Woodsman that’s right. The wider the tire and more offset on the rim increases the chance of rubbing
Awesome video! I have a totally stock 1996 4runner. It has 325,000 miles now and I still daily drive it. 😅

I got a 1989 pickup same gen. in México and I will love to have that Swapping. Thanks for such a great Job in those toyotas
just finally bought the r150f after my tranny crapped out, can't wait to swap my 2nd gen
Is the manual swap hard to do?
It was definitely easier than I thought. Hardest part honestly was finding and installing the brake pedal clutch pedal box. Also, be sure to use looong extension with some u joints to get them transmission bolts off. I was able to do it on mine without lifting the truck since I'm already lifted
I tried driving offroad with my 4runner and now im addicted 😂
What size tires?
Hell yea, digging the 3.slow love!
I'm looking at a 93 4runner on Friday. Fingers crossed haha

Can you guy add a video on replacing front axles

Great video David, did Johns truck get broken into in the Valley or on the road trip?
In San Antonio
What size of tires are they on the blue 4runner?
You guys have a 2nd gen lift kit recommendation?
My 4Runner looks exactly like that blue one man crazy
me too! 4banger though
Great stuff. Sorry to hear your about losing the stuff to some creeper.
The good thing about the 4” lift VS the ball joint spacer is suspension geometry.
Awesome videos brother
Thanks bro!
Badass channel man
LED head/tail lights upgrade 2nd gen 4R. Would it be worth it?
What size tires
You guys are going to hurt those beautiful Yotas. Don't you have any good roads out there?!
Enjoyed the video.
😂😂
What exhaust is on the 4runner? It sounds mean af
Hello, does have the second gen 4runner both, front and rear diff locks?
Ooooooohh, be nice to that Runner. Feather that pedal. Pretend there's an egg between your foot and the gas pedal. Easy now. Easy. Go slow. Be nice to the Runner and it will treat you goooood! No rough roads!
Lovin it broski wooooo
Thanks brotha!!!
What size tires can you fit on stock suspension with no running?
What section in hidden falls
Is it lifted
Dude, I want a 3.Slow Gang sticker for my 2nd gen!
We will be making more very soon!
U guys pump me up!!!
That’s always good to hear! 😎
My 1994 4Runner sags in the rear. Is there any good rear coils for a budget that I can use for my rig. I looks ugly. I have some 31 ko2’s
Get Cargo Coils installed. That will lift it. I did to my 1990 4Runner ..no more sagging. That was 15 years ago
Y si pudieran hacer algunos videos en español no sé si lo han hecho
anyone know where i might be able to find those style rims on the 2nd gen 4runner? I really like them but have only found 1 place that sells them, if anyone knows the name of the rims please let me know
5:12 uncle rico!!!
What part of Texas are y'all from? I love this channel man. I'd love to join you guys for a trip one day.

What mpg do you get in the highway? I just picked up a 2nd gen and it's burrrrrning gas
I bought a 2nd gen about 6 months ago. It gets about 17.5 mpg with the V6.

why dont you guys run lockers in at least the rear axle? spartan lockers are cheap and work great, plus you dont tear up the trails,or your car so much.
hey buddies i need help ill pay for ur expertise i have a crank no start issue give me pointers please
What's her OF?
Does everyone run petrol motors there? Anyone run the 1kz-te?
Would rather run a diesel but we don’t get them here in the states unless older Toyota’s imported from Japan 🇯🇵 but that’s expensive
Remember if you haven’t already, remove that front sway bar!
open dif problems
She needs a 2" body lift fam
