My favorite ingredient in your recipes is your sarcasm. Love it when you sprinkle that in along with the mmm hmm... You are so much fun to watch and I am getting healthier by the day as a side effect...
Did you feel me hug you through the computer screen? Please say yes. This recipe was my LAST attempt at making crunchy WFPB granola. All the other recipes failed me, but not yours. You're a granola genius!
Hi Dillon, thx for the granola recipe. I had been making an oil, maple syrup and vanilla based granola for years. When I switched to eating vegan and SOS free i had a really hard time adjusting the ratios to get a crunchy granola. Many batches i burned, turned to hard pebbles or remained too soft 😡😤. After many attempts i ended with a very similar recipe to this one you’ve shared. However... -suggestion- I bake it loosely instead of compacted in a 350 oven for 15 mins, brake them and toss with a spatula and finish baking for 15 more min. Once it has cooled then i add 3/4 c of dried fruit. That way the fruit doesn’t dry up any more and can stay soft and plump ☺️ Just a thought. I only have two baking sheets and i make this batch about once a week yielding aprox 10 -12 cups of granola for a hungry fam of 6 😬 Also, yes, i’d love a homemade from scratch yogurt recipe preferably made without soy. 👋 Monica from Colorado USA
I made a 2X batch of this per your recipe and it lasted about 15 min. So Good. Then I made a 4X batch using half banana and half sweet potato. I like a break from the flavor-forward banana sometimes. I added 4 extra dates. It's really nice. Not as sweet for sure but super tasty and I love the texture (of both batches). Thanks!
Just made this and had it with yogurt, heated frozen blueberries, bit of chopped candied ginger and fresh shredded mint......amazing!! Thanks for the idea!!
@@joimckinney9687 soak soybean overnight. Next day drain, wash, blend with water till milky. Use 2 cups water for 1 cup soyabean for thick yogurt . Strain soy milk and boil it then let it cool till lukewarm, now add previous yogurt batch like 2 tbsp . Mix it and let it sit overnight in a dark and warm place. Next day it'll be done
So, Dillon, I made the granola today. Just as your recipe suggested. I have a gas oven, so it is a damper heat than electric ovens. Anyway the drying part took about 50 minutes. I must say that I've written out this recipe, and will make it over and over and over again. Thanks for the info. You make this sos stuff so easy!
Was thinking about sweet potato because it has a lower glycemic index number than banana and pumpkin. Wondering whether it is worth trying it raw though because sweet potato (like carrots) is edible raw. What were your experiences?
JUST made this (2 batches). Decent taste. I added ground golden flax and 4 extra dates to make up for the dryness to compensate. Will play with dried fruits as raisins and currants *used* taste bitter when baked. Thank you for the bones to this fantastic recipe. Now, on to making your falafel and Tzatziki sauce.
I was doubtful of this recipe at first but I tried it. When it dried and had that crunch I was still doubtful. But then I ate it with vegan yogurt and again as a cereal with oat milk. Boom! It’s awesome!
I just made this and it is a real WINNER! I was craving really good Granola and this really hits the spot. Even the chewy stuff is good. AND the bonus is it it rally cheap to make. No more spending $6.95 for a small bag. Thank you Dillon.
If it's a little bit drier, you can dump in some whole apple sauce too. Core the apps, soften with steam, then blend with the skins for all the C vitamins.
Starch Solution didn't work for me but I remember loving your videos! I was randomly looking for a no sugar granola recipe and happened to find you again! Thanks- it looks awesome!!

Amazing! 👏👍😎 The new school year begins on Monday, in Belgium 🇧🇪 and I have just sat down to create the week’s menus. I was stuck on breakfasts before seeing this. Thanks, Buddy! I haven’t been around too often so allow me a moment to remind you that you’re awesome! I am absolutely elated for the distance of your newer direction. Don’t get a big bead but... it’s all because of you! Thanks for being precisely who you are! 😘
Thanx Dillon, luv your fun videos. My mom said laughter is the best medicine & you crack me up so much. 🤣Just keep it up we'll all be healed via vegan & jokes! Much luv!
Thank you so much for this granola recipe!! I like to add my raisins after the granola has been cooked the second time. I don't like my raisins cooked.
I love your videos. YES to the yogurt video. I make granola and will definitely try your recipe. Looks delicious. Favorite combo, plain yogurt and granola. I just recently started making yogurt again. I've been using EdenSoy Organic just soybeans and filtered water but it's spendy for one carton. Planned on making my own soy milk just for yogurt to cut costs. Can't wait to see what you are making.
Great recipe. I took it out as it started to get hard and pounded it flat with a meat tenderizer. Then I stuck it back in at a lower temperature since the ends were cooking faster than the center.
I made this today. The bananas were super ripe and sweet, and my dates nearly twice the size of yours so I put in half as many dates (I don’t like anything too too sweet). In hindsight I wish I would have put in a few more dates to make it a tad sweeter. The biggest trick is finding the sweet-spot in getting the mixture to crisp up. I have stuck them back in over and over to get it crisp but not burned. I’m at the limit of being able to put them back in, yet still it is a little chewy. I’m going to pulse the next batch more in the blender so the pieces are even smaller and perhaps they’ll crisp up better. It’s great, though, to find a recipe that doesn’t have oil or sugar. Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Michelle, it has to do with breaking open the hard slippery little buggers to get to the inside of the flax seeds...otherwise they just pass through the digestive tract whole. Chewing (which is challenging because they're so tiny and slippery), or grinding is a good option. I like the idea of adding both some ground and whole flaxseeds to get all the benefits! 😊
So it's April 2021 and I can't find a "how to" on making yogurt. You said you were going to make one. Am I right? I've had no luck making vegan yogurt and your yogurt looks amazeballs! Please show us the way!
This looks delicious! Thanks for showing a SOS version. I am new to the SOS concept of plant based cooking. Trying to tweak "common" vegetarian recipes to be SOS is not my forte. Thanks for the help!
I've made this! This is my second time making it today. Not a huge fan of cinnamon so I added unsweetened Hershey Special Dark cocoa powder, toasted flax seed, sunflower, almonds, toasted sesame seeds, pecans, and white raisins. I hope it turns out good.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes not, so am looking forward to learning your system. Looks so yummy. Thanks for posting.
Wow! This popped up on my UA-cam feed. I just made a batch of very simple granola from Nutmeg Notebook, my next batch I’ll try your recipe and use the dehydrated instead of the oven. Thank you! 👍

I have a question. Why won't you get the benefit of omegas if you add the ground flax seed to this as opposed to when you put it in the clusters?
