Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 You mention BABYMETAL, well you if you think about it Hanabie are life imitating art. They were an after school activity club bringing something shocking to talent shows, as you can see though, Hanabie play their own instruments and they also write their own music. As mentioned, their album “Girl’s Reform Manifest” is brilliant, there isn’t a duffer on it. The next two MVs should be “Reiwa Matching Generation” and “L.C.G.” (Lollipop Candy Girl) from that album. M next stop would be their ADO cover they did as an “at home” thing. Then you have “Envy” and “Time Out”, both from their EP “Cherry Blossoms Are Blooming”. They have some live stuff out there but it’s a mixed bag - make sure it’s from their official channel and you should be ok. Their studio live of “Ghost Mania” is very cool. Hanabie really are no joke. They went off to college, work in bars and Yukina a maid cafe (like Miku from Band-Maid) and it hasn’t looked like they were taking things too seriously but after the release of “LOVE Rangu” which is a real anime tie-up, and the fact Hettsu, Matsuri and Sea all got instrument sponsorship, there are rumors of a new album soon. We can only hope it’s half as good as their first one.
I've been a metalhead since 1997 (Rammstein, Seinsucht) and absolutely agree with your assessment about the new metal scene being Japanese. There are some truly amazing and exceptional talents coming out if Japan these days. People need to quit sleeping on the Japanese metal scene just because of a language barrier. Rammstein was embraced and I guarantee there aren't many metalheads who speak German. I definitely don't and Rammstein is why I got into metal. Listening to music from another country has never been an issue for me because the lyrics don't really matter to me. I'll learn them eventually, but what brings me in is the music and vocals. Metalhead for life and I wholeheartedly endorse the Japanese scene 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

Bridear - Light in the Dark All female power metal band. Unlucky Morpheus - Tower of Blood (live) Amazing metal band fopm Japan. The female signer, Fuki, isa powerhouse. AND they have a female metal violinist. Yes, you read that right, metal violinist. She does covers of Eddie Van Halen's Eruption and Yngwie Malmsteen. Galneryus - Angel of Salvation a Neo-classical metal band out of Japan.

Insane thing about Yukina (the screamer) is that she’s like 4’10”. She wears these massive lifts on stage and is still, quite obviously, the shortest person on stage. She’s also pure fucking chaos so you end up with this adorable little demon relentlessly smiling and doing these goofy interjections in parts of a song she’s not involved in then suddenly releases her monster growls from seemingly no where.

Japan has so many awesome Metalbands~ Some (all male tho) Bands I can recommend amd that I all saw live except the last one are: Crystal Lake Crossfaith Gyze (death metal meets traditional Instruments from Hokkaido) Nocturnal Bloodlust (especially their recent stuff from the ARGOS Album) And last but not least Dexcore!
OMG another awesome female band from Japan. Not heard them before but holy heck! If your loving female vocalists with deep extreme growl you must investigate Spiritbox and Jinjer. Both amazing bands. I would start with Pisces by Jinjer make sure it's the live session. Holy Roller by Spiritbox would be a good place to begin with them.
Hanabie is no joke and no flash in the pan, I love all their songs. Yukins the vocalist is amazing. If you want to see the top of the top female or male extreme vocalist you need to tun and see Jinjer. The lead singer is Tatiana and she is insanely talented. Jinjer is a Ukrainian metal band and have lived through being ran from their home in 2014 in Eastern Ukraine. The video for Home Back will show Tatiana’s insane vocals and their take on war.
As with the other Japanese bands you mentioned, live is where it is at with Hanabie. To the best of my knowledge, there is not too much live material available but what there is and i believe I have seen it all, it is manic and makes me wish I could wind back time to my teenage years.

Now, they are 2 clean vocals, growl vocal and high-pitch vocal all together! Very interesting and refreshing combination. hanabie is coming spain in some months to the resurrection fest! i may go see them, the problem is that the resu is at 140euros and i only have a total of 300euros and no job so that would be half of all the money i have this year also babymetal and lovebites will come to the festival, i think first time we have japanese metal groups and here we are, 3 JP metal groups i would love to see coming to a event at 3 hours in car from home this year we will also have bring me the horizon, i never went to the resurrection fest so idk if thats possible but, given that babymetal and bmth will be there, it would be amazing if they play together the song kingslayer

hanabie is coming spain in some months to the resurrection fest! i may go see them, the problem is that the resu is at 140euros and i only have a total of 300euros and no job so that would be half of all the money i have
this year also babymetal and lovebites will come to the festival, i think first time we have japanese metal groups and here we are, 3 JP metal groups i would love to see coming to a event at 3 hours in car from home
this year we will also have bring me the horizon, i never went to the resurrection fest so idk if thats possible but, given that babymetal and bmth will be there, it would be amazing if they play together the song kingslayer

Japanese metal is KING right now.🤘🍰🍩🍬 If you are interested there is a Japanese metal band called DAZZLE VISION that were around from 2008 till 2015 and the pocket sized lead singer MAIKO is known for her scream and great singing voice. Try their music video "Second". Pretty cool band. Shame they missed out on this Japanese metal wave.
