Update..... I contacted "The Norcold Guy" and said what was happening and confirmed the part number with the serial number of the refrigerator. He agreed that the optical display needs to be replaced, with an older unit (earlier the around 2006) you need to replace both the optical and power board. Strangely enough both boards are less expensive then just the optical board on the newer units! I also replaced the thermistor for good measure and $191 for everting including shipping we are cooling very nicely. Here is a link to what I received, click here. This "kit" came with all the instructions needed, you need to read close because this fits a veriaty of refrigerators so some steps might need to be skipped depending on your model.
