I just want to say thank you so much for your efforts in recording not only the video but the ride itself and then sharing it. I'm just now getting back into mtb after a few year hiatus (motorcycles made me lazy) and these trails are super fun to mess around on. I don't have a car so it's difficult to get my bike to places without tiring myself out beforehand, and this video really opened my eyes up to the trail systems we have right in SF where I live. Thanks for all you do! Also that intro was hilarious lol
Great video! I've ridden this many times. Those roots and pipe are no joke in the wet. Suggestion- Vallejo Ferry (1 hour) jump on BART (or ride) to Glen Park Station and into Glen Canyon and you can nearly ride dirt up to Twin Peaks.
I rode at Annadel w/ Tom a couple weeks back... on the drive up to Santa Rosa, he was telling us about this singletrack loop that he does from his new place. Very cool to be able to ride in the city. Great video.
Awesome dude , I still can’t believe that you went from a 9-5 to sharing your awesome channel with all of us here . It’s so cool bro BKXC we love you and your channel man , thanks so much 👍🏽👍🏽🌲🌳🌳
Fun stuff. I did this ride the day after you did Brian, and it was still as foggy, and wet. I started near Golden Gate park and rode up to Sutro, and down through Laguna Honda. I saw that water pipe as I was pushing my bike up that hill. I like the route you guys did better as you rode down more dirt, and up the asphalt. That stuff up on Sutro was better than I thought it would be. I added a loop through the Presidio, and it made for a long ride. Good times.
Absolutely one of my all time favorite videos! Yes, I was one of those fools who went to a July 5th Giants night game and had to leave in the 7th inning before hypothermia set in - and yes, I was wearing shorts.... cause it was freakin' summer!!!! Going to watch the extended cut now :)
Love your original soundtrack! 🤣👍🏼 I used to cruise around Boston on the old Stumpy with my friend Paul, who was on rollerblades... we tore up a lot of pavement and sessioned a ton of cool concrete features! Pretty amazing that there’s that much dirt in the city... most places you couldn’t even tell you were in SanFran!
TOTALLY get what you're saying about the temps. I was in San Fran for a corporate meeting in the mid nineties, and we took a ferry over to Sausalito for dinner one evening. I did just what you said...showed up in shorts and a tee shirt. I'm not sure I've ever been more cold than I was about an hour later when we were about halway across! The SECOND we got there, the first thing I did is buy a souvenir T-shirt and Sweatshirt for the ride back to avoid certain death. I still have them..."Alcatraz Triathlon...."100 Yd Dig, 3/4 Mile Run, 1.3 Mile Swim." They're faded, but I still wear them, and I won't ever forget how cold I was that night out in the bay!! That was cool seeing you ride a section of trail, and then pop out in the city. The trails looked like there was some decent flow, but it also looked like a good place to run into another rider or hiker! Not much visibility. Thanks for the tour!
Good to see hilly green spaces in a city being put to good use. Reminds me a bit of Wellington NZ, I spent 3 years living in the center of town at the start of the century and rode my bike from my front door after work every day during summer.
Man, this is a straight-up dream of mine. Next time you're in Alaska make sure to look me up and I'll show you what we have (or at least what I know about) for trails around here!! Love the videos man. Keep up the awesome work!
For real! I'd love to live in Cali where I could surf, ski & mountain bike all in one day if I were so inclined. But I need to be a millionaire first, lol!
Nah, only in SF you have to. I've lived in L.A (LBC) and it is WAY cheaper. Same with San Diego and other places in between. I live in SF now with a decent job and I barely make it every month, it blows. Oh and the beaches here are FREEZING..
I have been one of those guys that left home in shorts and a t-shirt totally forgetting the temperature in SF. I think it happens to all of us at least once.
First welcome back to the good old USA. I cannot believe all those trials are there. I used to hike that when I was little. My mom grew up in that area where you started out and Willie Mays lived down the street. I'm going to have to visit that someday when I go back up there and a great excuse to bring the bike with me.
Nice work man, Urban trails are my favourite to hit and link together as you get really interesting features that you just don't find in the country. You can end up riding several types of mountain biking disciplines all in one day.
Is always epic to find a little piece of MTB riding Gold in the city. I might not have mountains where i live but with in an 1and a half hours of driving i have alot of killer trails in cities, towns, and out in the country. Great to live by a natural excarpment that stretches close to 600 km. In length
thanks so much for this! was dope to see you ride these. i was all over the city as a kid on bmx. then I tried my first mtb... some nooks left to rip on for sure. hope you got some good grub after the ride!
Just rode this trail forks log 🤙🏼 4 years later and it’s still pretty much the same except for that slippery pipe LOL I wish the trails were a little more technical but o well..at least I have something decent around the corner from my place
Cool to see you out shreading my local trails, Live a 5 min spin from MT Sutro. What did you think of the trails? its not Tahoe but not too bad for a big city.
That was cool about the bi-facial solar pannels. More science in the videos is a good thing. Those tall trees were tall eh? Nice tall trees. Tall trees FTW. cheers for another awesome vid Brian.
As an Australian I always thought San Francisco was just an urban sprawl and wouldn't have thought there would be a trail network like that hidden in the city! Looked fun as!
This had to be one the most interesting rides you filmed. Love riding in slightly damp weather and in a Urban setting. I live about the same distance as you from SF.
Sweet! Those trails near UCSF are awesome. Have you checked out the riding in McLaren Park. SF Urban riders has an annual SF mtb fest and race there. keep up the bay area vids, there's some gold around here!
Brian just watched. Awesome video as always. I going tonight to San Fran. Gonna do some recon on bike rental and plan a trip just to ride. It is so different than south Mountain. Where I met you when you was with Syd and Mac. You just got done riding.
This video killed I absolutely love the urban mixed with the single track. One of my favorite places to ride it is downtown and just in an urban environment.
Great Video Brian, I used to make that drive from Vallejo to the City everyday for about two years it used to take two and a half hours back then. This just really made me miss the bay, Damn. Froze at many Giant games lol.... Cant wait to move back to expensive California. Keep up the great work and having fun man. Thanks Oh yeah, Why haven't you ridden Wilder Ranch yet ?
Hey Brian, next time you come out towards the city you should come to a town called Pacifica. In Pacifica there is a awesome trail called boyscouts, that consists of gnarly singletrack to a mini downhill park. 🤟
Cool video. Despite its flaws, I love SF and touring via mountain bike looked fun. When I used to live in ATL I managed to stitch together a similar ride in and around downtown.
Great video Brian once again! Loving every minute of them! Still working my way through watching each one from the very start of your channel lol getting there slowly 😂
Dam your making me miss home!! You should check out Pacifica, nice beach riding and some back trails. Def check out Santa Cruz, sweet single tracks out there!
Great video! I have ridden the Sutro trails a few times when I have visited San Francisco. What a gem for riders who live in the city. I will be coming up from Costa Rica this summer to ride out west, Downy, Tahoe and then up to OR at Waldo lake and then Bend. But I have two days in the Bay area and I'm looking for two of the best rides within an hour of the city... any suggestions? Your fan, Robert
I will add El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve aka "SkeggsPoint" - ua-cam.com/video/svXpeHNTJaI/v-deo.html Its just south of the city and within eyeshot of the ocean, so much cooler that inland locations.
Hey Brian, not sure if you remember me from Rockville with Ian Massey a while back. Anyway you missed all the McLaren Park singletrack along with McLaren Bike Park. Let me know if you want to hit that up next time. I live right down the road, and we can get my trail dog Cookie on a ride. Great views.
Great episode! Love that city, and next time I visit I'll bring my bike. Brian - since you know the area, any chance you'll cover trails around Mt. Tam, Stinson Beach, and the like at some point? I've hiked a fair amount around there, but not MTB. And that's one of the birthplaces of the sport.
Nice city ride! I do want to ask though, when you dropped in at the twin peaks lookout, there's a different trail further to the riders right you could've dropped in, steeper, rockier, and more fun i think. Maybe for next time! =)
Bout to hit this trail on my Wal-Mart bike:)
That was beautiful. I didn't realize their was singletrack in San Francisco!
U cant be american
I just want to say thank you so much for your efforts in recording not only the video but the ride itself and then sharing it. Yeah man, it’s absolutely unreal to think about how far we’ve come!
Fun stuff. I did this ride the day after you did Brian, and it was still as foggy, and wet. I started near Golden Gate park and rode up to Sutro, and down through Laguna Honda. Awesome! Love hearing you did it!!
awesome video BK, ive lived here for almost 8 years and just discovered some new trails to explore right in my backyard
Oh hell yeah!
Dude! I live in Berkeley, work in SF, and had no idea there are trails in the city! I'm so stoked! Thanks for showing me!
AWESOME! Hope you get it
Absolutely one of my all time favorite videos! Yes, I was one of those fools who went to a July 5th Giants night game and had to leave in the 7th inning before hypothermia set in - and yes, I was wearing shorts.... cause it was freakin' summer!!!! Going to watch the extended cut now :)
Hahaha classic! Thanks Coach!
Love your original soundtrack! 🤣👍🏼

Haha that’s such a great story, dude. Thanks for sharing

Thanks a bunch dude!
I think that was the best vlog music I've ever heard (1:08)
I’m gonna build a vlog music empire !
Pretty cool ride. A lot of short sections it appears. Maximizing the urban single track. Was cool you had someone to show you around.
Really made it great to have Tom!
This might be one of my favorite BKXC videos yet! Nice ride!
Awesome, love hearing that!
Wow what a city to live. Beach real close, awsome weather and garden Eden with trails in it everywhere! And some cheap houses as well...
Haha so perfect!
That looks like another country to this Midwestern boy now living in TX! The houses, the trees, all very unique!
Haha that’s cool
Too bad it's impossibly expensive to live here....
Good point on the freezing beaches. Compared to Dallas LA & SD are still way more expensive! I'd need to make about 50% more to equal my salary here.
I have been one of those guys that left home in shorts and a t-shirt totally forgetting the temperature in SF. I think it happens to all of us at least once.
Haha yep, add in some flip flops and you're really gonna freeze

Wow, that's so cool!
I love mountain biking. It's adventurous, fun and enjoyable. And I watch your video everyday brother🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
I didn't want this video to end! Loved the mixture of concrete and vegetation!
Haha glad you enjoyed it so much!
Excellent! Urban riding at its best! All you needed was a cool outdoor cafe with a view for a break somewhere along the way...
Exactly! Next time
That vlog music tho 🤩
Haha #1 on the charts and in the hearts of all the fans!
Nice work man, Urban trails are my favourite to hit and link together as you get really interesting features that you just don't find in the country. You can end up riding several types of mountain biking disciplines all in one day.
It was pretty dang cool!
Very cool. Loving the exploration element and giving some history / context to the ride! Do more of that!
Thanks dude, it was a fun way to tell the story!
Really nice single track! I always enjoy your video clips. Thanks a lot for uploading your experiences with your mountainbikes.
Thanks for watching!
It's great having mountain biking with the city. I live in Pittsburgh, and we have a great trails right in town. Also rode amazing trails in Philly.
Nice!
Is always epic to find a little piece of MTB riding Gold in the city. I might not have mountains where i live but with in an 1and a half hours of driving i have alot of killer trails in cities, towns, and out in the country. Great to live by a natural excarpment that stretches close to 600 km. In length
This was a pretty unexpected goldmine! Thanks Peter

hope you got some good grub after the ride!
That's awesome man!

Yep, pretty neat!
That guy had a cool style. I lived in SF briefly couldnt find those trails. I road Marin Headlands, Yahemi trail was really fun.

Gotta keep exploring!
Good to know! I'll be flying into SF on the 30th. We'll be in CA for a week.
Oh nice
These urban rides are nice change to the regular in the woods videos. Almost like crossover with biking and tourism.
This had to be one the most interesting rides you filmed. Love riding in slightly damp weather and in a Urban setting. I live about the same distance as you from SF.
Love hearing that dude
Sweet vlog bro ! Epic pov footage !
Sweet! Those trails near UCSF are awesome. Have you checked out the riding in McLaren Park. SF Urban riders has an annual SF mtb fest and race there. keep up the bay area vids, there's some gold around here!

Thanks bud!
Great timing! Will be in SF in July and now I see I have some options if I want to ride :)
Nice!
Brian just watched. Awesome video as always. I going tonight to San Fran. Gonna do some recon on bike rental and plan a trip just to ride. It is so different than south Mountain. Where I met you when you was with Syd and Mac. You just got done riding.
Have fun man!! Yes, I remember!
I love your videos, keep it coming !
Man, thanks for all the links! very much appreciated.
Rad! It looked like Jurassic world with the off camera water/pool surrounded w gate looking thing & with the forest right ther too 👌⛰
Yes!!
Seeing this is awesome because I’ve ridden a majority of these places and stay extremely close by :o didn’t know about the laguna Honda trails tho
Great riding man! Can't wait to see the next one 👍
Thanks!
This video killed I absolutely love the urban mixed with the single track. One of my favorite places to ride it is downtown and just in an urban environment.
Thanks so much Dominic!
@BKCX, the benefits of riding where there is constant fog, is the quality of dirt. That dirt looks perfect.
Exactly!
I can't spit bars but your car shreds major GNar it goes so far I just wanted to say thank for the bike ranks you've made possible for me
Nice
Great Video Brian, I used to make that drive from Vallejo to the City everyday for about two years it used to take two and a half hours back then. This just really made me miss the bay, Damn. Froze at many Giant games lol.... Cant wait to move back to expensive California. Keep up the great work and having fun man. Thanks Oh yeah, Why haven't you ridden Wilder Ranch yet ?
Man, I can't imagine the traffic! I haven't had many people suggest Wilder
Good vid. Gives me some ideas for around here in Torbay, south Devon, England. You should come ride on Dartmoor!
That's awesome!
That's what I wanted, cool living place with lots of biking opportunities, this video is damn good, love to live here Sanfrancisco
I saw on strava that you were in glentress in scotland, i was just racing there on sunday!
Nice!
BKXC Thanks, it was tough though as it was a british round so i was racing against the best in britain
Straight up urban riding right there Brian!
Big time!
Great video Brian 👍, been ill recently and haven’t been watching UA-cam so I’ll catch up on your videos 👍👍
Welcome back!
Hey Brian, next time you come out towards the city you should come to a town called Pacifica. In Pacifica there is a awesome trail called boyscouts, that consists of gnarly singletrack to a mini downhill park. 🤟
Yes! I've been wanting to get down there but it hasn't worked out yet!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve only ever known about the trails on Mt. Sutro.
Nice!
Great video. Great tour of SF too. Nice..
Thanks!
Really cool video, nice to see one from your home town.
Thanks!

That’s awesome dude!
Dam your making me miss home!! You should check out Pacifica, nice beach riding and some back trails. Def check out Santa Cruz, sweet single tracks out there!
Yep, Pacifica is still on the list!
What a lovely vid, this is so my kind of riding. 👍👍👍
Very cool video Brian.. I love to urban shred on th MTB!🚵♂️🤘👌👍

Great video! I have ridden the Sutro trails a few times when I have visited San Francisco. What a gem for riders who live in the city. But I have two days in the Bay area and I'm looking for two of the best rides within an hour of the city... any suggestions? Your fan, Robert
Awesome man, that sounds like a solid plan! I'd go do Oat Hill Mine Trail and Rockville. Check my videos out
I will add El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve aka "SkeggsPoint" - ua-cam.com/video/svXpeHNTJaI/v-deo.html Its just south of the city and within eyeshot of the ocean, so much cooler that inland locations.
Awesome video! Enjoy watching your adventures.
Thanks!
Well done, great riding! Good luck growing this channel! Anyway, I subbed. Have a good day! All the best, Philipp from PHAM
Haha, you just subbed? Haven’t you been here for years?
Should've whitelisted you, but great that you noticed :D
I dont normally like MTB in the city but this is freakin awesome dude nice job
Hey Brian, not sure if you remember me from Rockville with Ian Massey a while back. Anyway you missed all the McLaren Park singletrack along with McLaren Bike Park. Let me know if you want to hit that up next time. I live right down the road, and we can get my trail dog Cookie on a ride. Great views.
Oh man, so much more to see!
That’s a nice Transition 😍

"Super wet" pleaaase come to the uk! The trails in wales are all like streams 😂 youd love it! Great vid man!
Hahaha
Super cool video, here I'm thinking of going to san fran to bike and I see you biking in san fran. Your giving me to many ideas
Nice!
I think a BKXC Tamarancho loop is in order.
koho: there is not much legal singletrack anywhere on Tam. It is mostly fire roads albeit with great views.
There’s only one decent trail that’s legal on Mt Tam, but I should do a video about it some day!
So much beautiful surroundings
Thanks man!
1:12 Nailed that B-roll hahahaha
golden gate park and the science center is awesome. visited once for Outside-Lands
Yep, pretty dang cool!
Ugh oh your turning into Alexander in that intro 😂
Haha what part?
BKXC the very beginning with the woo hoo
Great having a local guide.
Definitely!
Dang man, I was just in San Francisco last weekend, rented some bikes with the wife, and didn't even know this stuff existed. Now I have to come back.
Love hearing that!
Really enjoyed seeing someone infront. Seeing this video gave me an idea of body positioning on my bike needs improvement. Keep it up
Nice
Cool, different, interesting, ride. Seemed perfect for cross/gravel bike.
Yeah, that'd be a good bike to use for sure!
Good video dude! Keep up the work.
You should come over to the uk you would love it and would be cool if you could do a bike cleaning video.
Thanks Josh! In the uk right now
Where about are you riding
Thanks for sharing that great video.
Nice city ride! I do want to ask though, when you dropped in at the twin peaks lookout, there's a different trail further to the riders right you could've dropped in, steeper, rockier, and more fun i think. Maybe for next time! =)
NExt time!
