Super fun glueing ❤❤ For the get together idea, I would do the hotel version. I have helped plan our company meetings at hotels, and a lot of times, they can provide a catering option that you could look at. Or if there is a restaurant in the hotel, you can usually book their big rooms for larger groups and then people can order off the menu. I think this option would be less stressful and you could accommodate more people being able to attend. Just my two cents 😉🤪 I am sure whatever you choose will be great!! ❤❤❤
My daughter belongs to a scrapbooking group. They rent a big Air B&B house twice a year. There's about 20 girls. They split up meals, with usually 3 girls doing each meal. Each group decides what they will make and they bring the food to prepare. They go up on Friday evening, and bring pizza for everyone. Everyone heads out after breakfast on Sunday. Each group cleans and does dishes on whatever meal they cook. Not sure if this would work as well for you, as all the girls in the group are local to the area. Oh, and they split the rent between everyone. It ends up being less than $100 per person for a weekend.
For a retreat, we've done hotels... they just need to have a really big conference/ banquet room and provide all the tables. It's nice if it's one that serves breakfast or at least has food options nearby. Lots of places will bring in a buffet-type lunch or dinner. And a lot of sandwich places will cater a sack lunch. It is a lot of organizing... but I did quite a few for scrapbooking retreats back in the day. If you have some local RCG people you could get a committee together and share the workload.
Do you have any hostels around you? Around women's group did a lot of those and it was great. Teams were assigned to do certain tasks, everyone cleans up at the end. It was great.
I haven't hosted, but have had a great time attending retreats at hotels. Some people share rooms; some don't. I see the advantages of a house, but it's kind of nice when the only housekeeping is cleaning up the art room, which most hotels put you in charge of. Anyway, just my feedback. Fun glue sesh!! I like both the hotel & Airbnb ideas...I think the hotel would be the easier overall option for out-of-towners like myself. I also like that hotels have large conference rooms that would accommodate everyone, & many have a variety of catering options available. Reserving a block of rooms is usually offered at a discounted rate too (ie. seminars/weddings) Let me know if I can help with some of the legwork/info-gathering phonecalls, etc...❤❤️❤️
A hotel is better than air bb because there would be more work space than an air bb. You can also arrange for group meals there. I go to scrapbook crops at hotels. The hotel provides free breakfast, we eat lunch as part of our fee and we are on our own for dinner. Embassy Suites is my favorite. Free happy hour!
i love watching you working in your En Mass glue book. You have such nice images to glue. I bought a composition notebook, but havent had time to to get it ready with tabs and cover. You are an inspiriation.

Speaking from owning a husky mix for 15+ years…get you a blower with a narrow tipped hose to blow the water out of her undercoat once the bath is done. It helps soooo much - gets all the way down to the skin and helps their double coat dry so much faster and more even. Doing it at home is tough work - especially when you add chronic illness (Lupus here) - so every little trick to make required tasks easier is just better. Love this glue book. I am on my 3rd En Masse glue book - they are so fun. I just got home from a one week craftathon…we had so much fun. I don’t know about out that way - but in the southeast we have several craft houses in TN, AL, KY and GA that I know of for sure. Every one has been different but so much fun.
I like the hotel /motel so we have our own room fir sleeping etc cause so many of us have quirks etc and having your own Room for sleeping would work for me. The play/ conference room would be big enough to do food in we could just buy like subs, pizza crap like that and all share the cost. I’ve done a couple like that before and it worked out fine. We got a discount on the rooms because there was so many buying one.

My friend does a church conference center. They have rooms and provide food. We used to have them at a hotel, we made the food and it was a hassle.

I wash my apples & cut them into quarters, cook them whole, then put them thru my cone shaped strainer. Sooooo much easier, healthier & faster.
