Just found your video... Thanks for the trouble of bringing this to the masses.
I have 2 out of warranty EGO mowers. Since the Warranties have expired, I've grown tired of looking at the filthy decks of these 2 mowers. I've gone ahead and carefully cleaned the underside of the decks with very low pressure water from my hose using a mixture of water & dish soap, which after applying I let it soak in for about 10-15 min to soften up the gunk under the deck, & using 3 similar brushes which you show in the video, too. I've done this repeatedly for the past few years with no problems, excluding some early deaths of EGO batteries (a diff. story for another time). Then, to scrape off the underside deck gunk, I use two plastic spackling 1-inch and 2-inch spatulas to prevent any unnecessary scratches onto the plastic decking. I use the flathead screw driver to get into the tight spots. After all is clean, I towel dry first, then EGO blow dry the mower as best I can. I let it dry for an additional couple of hours just incase I missed some wet spots. Then, I spray the underside of the deck with a can of WD40 silicone spray, wipe it in with paper towels while wearing disposable latex gloves, & it stays mostly clean for about 3-4 cuts, sometimes longer, as long as I don't mow when the grass is wet. My mowers work well & look like I bought them in the last year because they always are mostly clean. Hope this helps a bit more, and thanks for your video.
I don't know if you had more fun making the video or editing it ! Good stuff.
😂 sometimes the voiceovers just flow and you can’t go back 😂🙏🏾🤙🏾
You know I'm gonna come at you with a tip/trick haha. Grab a cheap plastic putty/spackle knife to scrape the deck. The metal from the screw driver can gouge the deck. I just cleaned and painted my timemaster satin black today. Oh I also changed the oil finally 😄 🤣
Aye send me some pics!!!! Before and after if you have it! And yes I couldn’t find the damn putty knife 😂😅
Thank you very much for this video,I really need to clean my ego usually I do clean it up after I use it, but I've been afraid to use soap and water. I love my ego. I had it for more than 5 years. I will try to clean it in your way tomorrow. Thanks again.
Thank you. My Ego mower is disgusting. I was tempted to go get a Toro just because I know you can wash that. Lol. I’ll give this a try today. Fun video to watch too. Thanks!!
Great Video! I’ve only had my EGO mower for a few months so your tips are awesome. Love the tips on being careful with the sprayer, the rim brush and using the blower for drying. Thanks so much for putting this together. You made it funny and fun!
So fresh and so clean
Thank you 😊🙌🏾🤙🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for this. I haven't cleaned mine and now I'm going to tackle it. Great video!
Thank you so much! It's time for me to get on it as well 😂🤙🏾
Thank you, I've been hosing the underside of my EGO for the 3 yrs I've had it. Was planning to give it a good scrub down before stowing for the winter, until I looked at the manual. OHHH NO... Saw your video and feel much better that I've been carefully hosing down mower periodically. "Lame" video was really helpful so not so lame.
thank you so much for your great video..I just had to think I could be careful with the water and wash my mower ..
Oh yeah after taking apart the controller and replacing it on an ego I picked up I can see how easily it can be water damaged especially from the bottom deck 😊🙌🏾🤙🏾🙏🏾
Hi guy. I was just outside cleaning my new ego lawn mower on. April 8th 2024.....day of the eclipse.
I used just regular hot water and drill brush under the deck.
And it works very good!!!....and it's real fast. Just let the brush and your drill do the work and wipe clean.....I got my drill brush years ago from Amazon.
Just wanted to share. Takecare.
I just use my ego blower to blow off my mower every time I use it. It looks clean all the time.
This was a very good demonstration, especially how to wash with hose while guarding the electric motor and electric parts. Thank you.
I know your a car guy since you usin that black bucket!
Satisfying video brah
George! How are you brother! 🙏🏾 thanks my guy yeah most car guys go all black everything lol funny my daily driver is fully stock though I kinda like the BMW incognito mode. Looking forward to your videos this season my guy loved the new Home Depot Vid! 🙏🏾🤙🏾😊
I blow off and spray my ryobi after each use, after I remove the battery....2 season, no issues. I don't put battery back in until ready to use.
We bought a 2018 Ego LM2100 with the Battery Charger for $78. Mower is like new. We found out a new 7.5 AH Battery is $400. I get why the previous owner junked their Mower. We'll keep our wonderful Honda and Toro Mowers and part with the Ego.
Yeah sometimes you can find 7.5ah batteries on CL or offerup for $200 but still expensive 😊👊🏾🙏🏾🤙🏾
I do almost everything on here but I don't spray the mower directly, I've only used it 3 times but before I use it I treat the underside of the mower with NuFinish. Yeah that once a year car wax. So far it works great and almost no grass has stuck to the mower and what has easily come off with the wheel brush. Love your videos, keep up the great job!
I wonder if you spray the underside down with WD40 or something if it would stop some of the grass from sticking.
I spray it with the WD40 silicone spray, and it stays mostly clean for about 3-4 cuts as long as I don't mow when the grass is wet.
I spray mine with silicone spray..I washed mine with the hose like he did but after a few months I noticed a rubbing or grinding sound when its running especially at high speed. So I sprayed all the crevasse and let it sit for a few days and what do you know.....sound went away....I was scared that I ruined it. Try not to get water in the center hub. Enjoy your Ego
🎉
didn't work for me.
I knew I wasn't the only one that used a leaf blower to dry off a car after washing it my wife thinks I'm crazy
Haha that’s a must! 😂🙏🏾🤙🏾
You aren’t crazy you’re smart and I guarantee your paint is in better condition than everyone that thinks you are crazy.
well, a power blower is used at the end of a car wash, so why not our leaf blower
Bruh, the humor was killin me lmao i came here to watch a mower get cleaned, but i didnt expect to laugh lmao
😂😂😂 thanks for tuning in! 😊🤙🏾👊🏾🙏🏾🔥
5:30 “very careful”. Lol. Meanwhile I’m too scared to drink coffee around my EGO.
I like your sense of humor that's funny
😂 thanks for tuning in! 😊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🤙🏾🔥
Aloha Brah from Florida.Awesome video 🏄♂️🤙🤙🤙🤙💯🔋✌️🌞
Aloha my guy! Mahalo 🙏🏾🤙🏾😊
Hilarious. 🎉 Thanks for this sunshine in my lunch hour! 😂😂
Word. Thx bro
No gas was spilled in the making of this video 😂
😂😂😂
It’s battery operated, not gas lawn mower.
@@bessiemorrison4804 Oh 🤣
I had to put my air pods on in front of my co workers once the rim job instructions started. 😂
😂😅🤣 I’m freakin dead 😂💀💀💀 🤙🏾
Look at the the thumbnail of the video now 😂
@@YardBrah this guy ! 😆😆
wow mower detailing could be a new business lmaooo
😂😂😂 I wonder if these neighborhood kids could do that! That would make money for a caked up mower! 😂😂😂😊👊🏾🙏🏾🤙🏾
You could probably put a plastic bag over the battery housing for *extra protection* 🤭
ooooo good call!!!! Thank you 🙏🏾😊🤙🏾
You the goat brah
Thanks for tuning in!!!😊🙏🏾🤙🏾
I hose my down every time without worry of being careful with the bottom... never had an issue...
Someone on reddit claimed they even wash the battery compartment with a hose and no problems for 3 years...I wouldn't go that far though..
Yeah most the time I’m really lazy with my rotary mowers my reel mowers get all the love 😂🤙🏾
Shit I set up my sprinkler full blast, pull my ryobi over it, and run the blades a few times on and off, and that's it. I'm not sure if it'll mess it up, but its's outdoor equipment. i figure it's gonna get wet.
Hell yeah! Now I usually spray water on the right side of the wheel and turn the mower on sucks up all the water and cleans it pretty nice pretty much the same thing you’re doing 😊🤙🏾
Super nice…
Thank you 😊🙌🏾🤙🏾🙏🏾
Awesome! New sub!
Thank you so much! 😊🙏🏾🤙🏾
@@YardBrah 💪🏽
You should consider ceramic coating the deck the grass won't stick
And perhaps tie/tape a bag to the electric motor for extra protection
I guess they have a deck spray available for a non stick deck! Thanks for reminding me!!! 😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
How often does the ceramic coating need to be re-applied? I usually spray mine down with wd-40 or chain lube
Next time, try spraying the underside of the mower deck with an aerosol cooking spray. This makes the clean-up a he'll of a lot easier.😅😅
I’ve heard! I want to try ceramic Coating too… I just don’t give my rotary mowers any love my reel mowers get all the attention 😂😂😂🤙🏾
What is that crazy roller setup you have bolted on?
Checkmate Striper kit! ua-cam.com/video/vwodDnEgFgY/v-deo.html 😊🤙🏾
Hey bro. Just a silly question. I accidentally used my Ego lawnmower while it was raining for 30 minutes. Would that damage my mower or reduce it's performance, lifespan?
No you should be fine just don’t use it and let it dry out for 24 hours. I’ve gotten mine wet wet and it’s still charging like a bull! 😊🙌🏾🤙🏾🙏🏾
We bought an electric oven stove with a flat glass top. The instructions forbid using paper towels to clean it? And the cleaning sponge that came with it was abrasive. My wife hounded me for years to not use paper towels because of the instructions. Now she uses paper towels to wipe messes up herself. Who authors these instructions? If the underbelly of a lawn mower whether electric/gas is not designed to allow cleaning the under deck with a pressure washer or at least the pressure from a water hose?
Good stuff you had me dying bud. 🤣
YES! LOL!!!! I mean everything coming out with this voice over had me out of pocket hahaha!
@@YardBrah it was hilarious bud
Hey man, how you like your Ego mower? I am thinking to buy one, but always hesitant about the power of a battery equipment.
Coming up on almost 5 years with this bad boy and still running like a champ! Ego has good power you won’t be disappointed my dude 😊🤙🏾
My battery doesn't hold up well. And I hate the deck cleaning warnings and concerns.
Damn… I gotta get out and do this too. Great video, very entertaining yet nasty 😂
😂😂😂😂 I didn’t mean for it to come out like that… that’s what he said…. Oh damn there I go again 🤦🏾♂️😂😂😂😂😂😂😊🤙🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
I skip the towel, and just hit the blower, but I don’t use electric.
But Brah, you had me “rollin” 😂
Haha this was a funny vid I’m still laughing! Yeah I make sure all the heavy water is soaked up first just to be safe you know 🙏🏾🤙🏾😊
What is the attachment on the back?😮
I clean mine every 3 weeks with a hose and nossle
Appreciate the video bro. What nozzle is that you’re using? I need to get one of those.
It’s an orbit brand one I like it it’s like a fire hose 😂😂😂😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Is it metal where the blade spins?
like the deck? deck is plastic... middle of the deck also plastic Thanks for tuning in! 😊🙏🏾🤙🏾
Do you have a 2nd channel for flipping used cars? CarBrah?
That was the plan for this season but Man I missed that chance I killed it last year… the market is tough right now finding good cars it’s all inflated. Once I find more cars the channel will be started for sure it’s one of my other favorite hobby’s! 😊
@@YardBrah thats awesome 👌
How often you have to clean it tho
if it's dry out I just use the blower, but lately with all this rain I clean it a ton since the grass is all moist and clumpy lol Thanks for tuning in! 😊🙏🏾🤙🏾
That's why u don't mow grass when it's wet or after it rains.
Probably take the blade off for safety, and easier access first. Just saying.
No, no, use plastic to scrape. If you damage paint then comes rust.
Yes I will go buy a plastic scraper I can't find mine from last year! .. luckily my deck is plastic but yes on metal deck this would be a no go LOL! 😂🤙🏾
Why nit clean it on the back lawn.. free water for the lawn not cement
Why not just use a pressure washer? It uses less water than a hose so there's even less risk of messing up any of the components.
I've been doing it on my LM2100SP for the past 2 years and no issues. P.S you should've also removed the blade for cleaning purposes, lots of grass behind the blade and the motor housing.
Yes I was feeling lazy 😂 new vid I busted out the pressure washer for the vintage McLane 😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
You forgot the polish!
Step 1: TAKE OUT THE BATTERY!!!!
I'm sure you did, but you didn't say it.
I have that same mower. All I've ever had to do was take the blower to it. But I have Bermuda and I keep it pretty short.
Yeah I guess I should have said that and I hinted at 8:10 not to put the battery back in for 24hours 😂 gotta remember to dumb it down every more sometimes 😂😊🔥🤙🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is way too much trouble
Why are you racist to your bucket. Why did you have to call it a (black bucket). What you can't just call it a bucket. Why did it have to be a black bucket. 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 I just rewatched that episode and started dying cause of this comment 😂😂😂😊🔥🤙🏾😂
@@pete9688 that one went right over your head.
What is that crazy roller setup you have bolted on?
The checkmate strip kit!! 🙏🏾🤙🏾
