I would say 40-80 ft and older because we are looking for Great Loop capable boats. I love all you show for the variety, but keeping in the under $500K price range makes the dreaming more real!
All the features of a bigger boat - it even 'feels' roomy. But none of the added hassles and expenses of an actual big boat, with space rarely used. Things like cheaper insurance, less spent on moorage, less fuel consumption with far less costly annual maintenance, easier close quarter handling and docking becomes an easy operation. Thanks for the tour. Affordable boats can be just as fun and dream worthy as giant yachts.
Well said...it's actually within reach as opposed to most of the amazing yachts we dream about. Often it's all about being with the person or people you want to be with that makes it all worth it...👍
Rico and Victoria, Galeon seems to be really be stepping up their game as far as design and practicality. I love it when Nick has the new Galeon's on his channel.
I noticed your intro is different, and done very well! And congrats on getting some sponsorship, well deserved and I imagine a relief. For this size of boat, I think the galley is outfitted just fine. This seems like a great boat for a couple, and to entertain another 4 or so, which is a good intimate grouping for my taste. Thanks as always!

I like! The interior layout is open and eyecatching. To free up even more space on the flybridge, I would look into removing the permanent helm topside, and using a portable game-style console for operating the boat up there. ALSO, an awning-style shade over the front window to hold out the sun while preserving that awesome visibility would be on my list.
My grandfather had a 40 footer back in the early 70s and it was nothing like this. This is much much more well appointed. And you don’t have to take it out and put it in dry dock to paint it every winter!
The view from the inter helm was incredible! Yea, it was clear you two are spoiled with touring super Yachts, lol! Gosh, you failed to mention that wonderful tooth brush. On a serious note, this would be an awesome couple/family boat! The fuel burn was ok, speed great, and it seem very comfortable!
excellent as usual.. one of the things you might add to your specs and description of the boat is what kind of hull each boat has, planing, semi displacement full displacement etc.. that would help people assess it's match to needs and also expected ride quality.. Greg from Sydney Australia
When you do engine compartment tours, it would be helpful to show where the dipsticks and fill tubes are. If it's too hard to do pre-cruise checks, they may not get done regularly!!
You guys have features some speedy yacht lately. (Thank you very much) I recently watched a documentary on a WWII aircraft carrier that served in the Pacific ocean. When the Imperial Japanese Navy was trying to get away some of their battleships were clocked at 40 knots which I thought is incredible considering how heavy they were.
Thank you both for all your excellent insight you provide your viewers. I am looking to relocate to south Florida and either purchase a live aboard or just a fun vessel. Your informational videos have educated me beyond belief and guided me to so many "wants" to look for in my purchase. Take care and thanks again!
With so many boats in that size range, choices are endless. This boat has good range capability if you're OK at sailboat speed. Clean looking unit, plus it's small enough for easy maintenance, and affordable docking.
Small cup holders are for wine glasses, shot glasses, y'know, containers with a smaller base diameter than a standard drinking glass. Red Bull too, they're more narrow compared to a normal soda can.
The Galeon is attractively designed for a 42’ yacht. I am saddened that the shower is room for 1 but I guess we can play with our partners in the two person helm. Hello Fresh caught my attention with the provocatively phrased offer to spice things up. Lucky Rico !
"If you can not afford a brand new one", haha, I can't even afford the life raft on one of these, but I do like Galeons. If I were going to buy a smaller yacht to begin with (ok, if I could afford a yacht at all) then it would most likely be a Galeon. I really like their designs and innovations and I think that it would give you a good taste of what it would be like maybe live aboard a boat full time. And that's the dream.
Love the stylist upholstry and finishes. Definitely not a family home unless kids are babies as the space is very limited especially in bad weather when it is closed up. For a retired couple or young couple it is a perfect home. Overall, if I had the money (x18 to get the cost at home, could buy a 5 bedroom home on 14,000 sq mtr land for that price) and lived in the States then would love this boat for myself.
Just to let you know I Loved the video on that brand new 78 ft. Rivaira vessel that was awesome and a fantastic job telling us all about that amazing boat...Hats off to Victoria & Recaro...Muskoka Dave Ontario Canada...cheers folks.
Great vid. love galleons and all the innovative ideas, my only worry with them has always been , so many moving bits and pieces, how would they wear and perform over time, Nice to see slightly older one in good working order, and still looking good.
I'd buy that one in a heartbeat, if I had the $$ that is LOL Perfect for what I'd want to do (Loop, coastal, Great Lakes, maybe Bahamas). After what you and Alexei pointed out about fiberglass hulls I think I'd want to stay under 10 years old for 99% of the production boats. . Are you doing a review/tour of the new Prestige M48 power cat? I can hardly wait to hear Rico's opinion about the engine bays.
