Yeah, I think we need more videos. My only hope is that GRRM wakes and releases the Winds of Winter un time for Christmas. That would be a hell of a 25 Days of Christmas. Ready. Set. SCHWIFT.
Arya hears howls and what may be distant screams because the wolves are eating the dead and dying - both the human residue of battle and of Gregor and Friends' atrocities. That's the subtext to how the wolf pack gets so large and unafraid. They have grown strong off the war itself, and have grown unafraid from feasting on the flesh of man for months and months. To be frank, it's not unrealistic. History abounds with such horror.
Excellent point about animal suffering in nature. Suffering is the nature's norm and reality. It is modern luxury that made us so detached from reality that made it feel like a problem that needs, or is even possible, to be addressed.
I always thought that this and Arya's other chapters in the riverlands were the scariest in the series, at least the most harrowing. Here she is a young child walking straight into and through the most hostile area possible. We see the after effects of Tywin's reavers but can only imagine what it took to leave it as devastated as we see. Plus, in truth, every man is capable of such brutality. This is tame compared to real stories of war and conquest which makes it even scarier.
A bit of a late comment but in 1:04:37 I think Yoren is doing what most adults do when they know they could've done something better. The "oh well, let's just deal with this".
I didn’t know how much I fuckin’ needed these hilarious videos in my life! Love Alt Shift X....but please keep these coming Alt Schwift X! I might enjoy these just as much as your other channel. Terrific! Don’t stop! Or I might cry. These are just damn fantastic.
Me: ah lets lay down to sleep. *abt to fall asleep* Shwifto for no fucking reason: hey remember the mf screaming bear in Annihilation Me: 👁👄👁 why tf would you SAY THAT😭 Lord Shwiftington I've half a mind to kidnap some of your bastards and take them to the woods.
China has gone through many dynasties and its borders have changed dramatically over many centuries. Longest institution would likely go to the imperial house of Japan, the Catholic Church, or the King’s School in Canterbury, England.
I just finished marathoning AGOT Abridged, and am wondering if I want to start watching ACOK Abridged...The pre-recorded, short, funny episodes of your first series were so good. The tangents were all short and funny, and there was actually some interesting discussion about the books themselves. After the livestreams started, they became so much longer and harder to sit through. And this entire series seems to be made of that schizophrenic, long-winded, chat dominated, distracted and shallow stuff. I don't know if you're even doing these anymore, but I don't think I'll watch them unless they're more like the better recieved ones of the last series.
I thoroughly disagree with this, every minute of schwift is blessed. I think you might simply enjoy the official audiobooks more. Or this little known channel I found called alt shift X, you probably didn't hear of it but they make concise, focused game of thrones content!
@@Hazelcake lol. No, I mean, it's fine for what it is. It's just that having that regular, funny, extra commentary (and a healthy dose of shwift's voice) in my UA-cam feed was really great. I'm reminiscing about it like it was something special, but really, I was excited to experience ASOIAF in this format. I guess not many people agree with me, but I don't know...it's like the videos aren't even focused on the topic anymore. I can't argue whether or not it's "blessed," but all I can say is that I guess it's just not my style...
@@01Sunshine234 I blame the writers most of all. A Schwift needs a good script or so I‘ve heard. Here‘s to hoping that his complicated relationship with Alt Schift can be mended somehow because that guy shat out scripts like no one‘s business back in the day. And „the more he drank the more he shat.“ to paraphrase a classical author.
Totally agree, I was excited to get through the books without reading them again, with some funny comedy and I like the tieback to future events while we read the old books. The Livestreams are a hot mess imho, I have to skip forward so often. Seems like there is a small dedicated fan base of the Livestreams that keeps pumping alt up but I do feel the larger quiet fan base is getting screwed. Had to leave this comment even though it's been years. Just my opinion!
Oh god getting close to the end of the playlist and this video is 2 years old.

42:06 legitimately a great statement and words to live by.
I came for the banter , I stayed for the life lessons.
Schwifty really ahead of his time, explaining fungibility.
4:51 schwifty explaining NFTs before NFTs were a thing

Gosh I remembered how much I missed this!
Such a treat. Love these analyses!
I love the comments from people who didn't realize fungible is a word independent of NFTs.

I love your laugh!!! Have a happy day :)
Good argument for penal colonies and labour camps there
so the live show didnt kill schwifty after all? shocking
I can't believe I missed this :'(
See you in a year for the next ep
I think the longest continuous institution has to be China right? China or the Simpsons one or the other.

Is this the same guy as alt shift x?
That's one of life's great mysteries. ;)
yes, but the in-joke is that theyre 2 different people.
