My 2013 Diavel had that same button. On the older versions at least, you only need to use it if you didn’t have the key, or if the key battery died. You could then type in a pin code. If you have a functional key in your pocket you could just push the power button and it would power up. I have to imagine this one is similar.
I purchased my Diavel V4 about 3 weeks ago. I already put the 600 miles on and did the 1st service. The only thing I can say is that the Akra Full System is a must. It’s a totally different beast once installed. If you loved the power delivery with the stock exhaust you should try one with the Akra system. The normal reaction that we get from you would be appropriate. It is a beast with that exhaust. Don’t get me wrong the extra money is well worth it. It’s a 26K bike, you may as well call it a 30K+ bike. If your spending that much the extra $$$ shouldn’t matter. I’ve owned an older Diavel Dark, and this new model is light years ahead of the older gen Diavel.
My next upgrade for sure to my 2024 Diavel v4. Been riding the stock for about a month, although impressive.. I’m still left wanting 😂😂 thx for the information
The first bike I ever road was the little Honda used in motorcycle school. Two weeks later, I was riding a brand new '16 X Diavel S. Did I mention that I was 58 years old It was a fantastic bike I miss her.
OC: This is absolutely the Ducati that would make me pull the trigger. I've really been in love with the HD Sportster S for a while, and I still love it. The futuristic muscle cruiser looks and fat front tire are badass on that bike. But the looks, performance, quick shifter, better cruising 2up comfort are seriously making me consider spending more for the Diavel V4. I'd buy it used anyway so that helps with cost, but this bike's Ducati futuristic looks combined with muscle cruiser performance really capture my attention. Both the Sportster S and Diavel look like they were designed for Cyberpunk 2077!
This might be an unpopular opinion but I can’t stand the silver accents on the intakes next to the lights, blacked out would look better but something about the front end of this bike that just doesn’t work for me. I’m sure the bike is awesome and I’d still consider one at time to upgrade though. Love that rear wheel in particular though!
3rd time on a diavel, hasn't learned to use the button on the handlebar to start the bike. I've only used the button under the dash if you don't have the key on you and put in the passcode to get going.
You can use the button that has the padlock on it to turn on and turn off the bike (push to start and hold for a couple seconds to turn off the bike) 👍
Good Review! I've had my Diavel V4 for a couple months now and absolutely love it. To me, it's the motorcycle equivalent of an AMG car in the sense that you get savage power with all of the creature comforts of a luxury vehicle. It's large enough to ride well, but snappy enough to feel similar to a sport bike with a riding position that is super comfortable. Plus, it has the 240 mm rear tire so when you snap the throttle it peals your face back and pulls hard with the quick shifter. My only complaint is the rear seat assembly is a bit loose fitting considering the price point. Other than that, it's incredible.
1. From what I remember of the Streetfighter with the Cylinder Deact, if you were in NEUTRAL and shifted into FIRST, then you would hear/feel the cylinders kick in. 2. Chase, if the bike has the stem key position in "On", you do NOT need to do anything. Simply hit the power button on the throttle side and the bike will turn on. 3 - What crazy RAM Mount is that? ... OC - I enjoy it slightly better due to the better screen. That's about it. Plus, it's 20% + more expensive than the previous gen. I'll stick with my MY2019 1260. :)
I have a 2023 XDiavel . . . and could have waited for the V4 but went with the outgoing model because of price, also, the sound after replacing the stock exhaust with Termignoni slip-on is a lot loud & better, as the stock sound is agricultural, ...Bad
Get a 2015 or later used Diavel 1198 or 1260S. You'll love the Desmo engine compared to this 4 cyclinder. The older Diavels have a classic and edgy design.
