you have to restart steam for the compatibility thing to show up, the one you installed

But I have an issue. Whenever I restart the steam deck, I lose all my game saves and cannt find the saves.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Everytime I open proton my cursor star moving on it's own. Makes it impossible to select and install the right version of wine.
I did the first method. It worked for Little Kitty,Big City but Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 will not work.
It starts and does the tutorial race and then to the main home hub but when i choose to go into the
campaign it goes to a black screen and has the press A to skip at bottom but does nothing when i press A.
It gets hung there and only way off it is to hold down deck power button till it shuts off and reboot deck.
Any way to fix this?

I got it working. Had to reboot the deck for the Proton install to show up in list.
i was clicking on 9.2 thinking that was the one i downloaded and it wouldnt work.
rebooted and now the 9.7 showed up and works. weird how 9.7 is only one works on
HW Unleashed 2 but games that just came out run fine on experimental.
I have tried installing a quack version of Hades and unfortunately, when the game starts the game freezes. I tried different versions of proton but no help. any idea?

Check first if its an iso file then you need to extract it first. I had a separate tutorial for that please check the discription

Yes. You can add any App/Game to steam by simply right click on it in desktop and click on "add to steam"

You install it on your pc first or run the installer setup.exe with the mentioned methods and then you continue with this tuto

- 2 of them worked directly through Steam (method 1)
- 2 had an error (no license) in Steam, so I tried methods 2 & 3 - also without any success. Any idea how to solve?
- 1 game just refused to do anything in all 3 methods (could be because it's an older PC title)
Glad it works, and yes older titles may have issues but you can try different prontons like version 7. If you issues with license you need to find another crack source like empress fitgirl or rune

Follow the 3rd method which is heroic, make sure you create a new folder on prefix and game name

@@jontechie yeah your right i did but its doesn’t work regardless “I get configuration being updated” and it hangs and never updates on Lutris and Heroic basically doesn’t work
guys let me tell you the #1 tip thatll make u love me. Say your downloading the game to a slow sd card and fitgirl takes forever. what i did was go into game mode press play on it set it up and go into settings on it and bump it up fully (click manual gpu clock and tdp limit and set them to max 15w, 1600mhz hope this helps❤

Tried all three methods none of them worked I used warpinator to transfer the entire installed files of the game to the steam deck so ready but still didn't work.
If that's the case you may need to find a different sourch for crack. Try Empress or Rune versions

You can do both but I recomment you download on other pc and install the game there first then copy the game folder to steam deck
@@jontechie And what if the game needs a “disc 2” in order to play? That sort of thing always happens to me whenever I try to install and launch PC games that came from a physical CD disc.
alot of games now don't need that install, its all in one within a torrent

Hi, trying to run Prototype 2 downloaded from Fitgirl repack. Didn't work via the steam method. On lutris it says Invalid Wine prefix path. Make sure to create the prefix before saving it to a registry. How to solve this? I did like shown in the video just replaced the name with "Prototype 2" instead of GOW...

I used to have the games folder within the home/deck. But i factory reset, and now it's gone. Any idea how or where i can find it
You can Create one and make that your default path for your games

@jontechie oh sorry. When installing the game, i can find "deck" in the path with the "home" folder just fine. But not the games folder. However, in the files window. I can't find the deck folder to create the games folder.

@@jontechie Just incase anyone out there can use this, try launching the game with wine if proton dosent work. Worked for me. Added to steam with litrus to run with wine after to get it to work in steamOS.

There's no need. ROG is running on windows and you can install any gamesfiles directly

@@Robinss0n nope, I think using a version of the game that was incomplete or didn't work or maybe it was fitgirl probably messed with steam now no matter what version I try it doesn't work
Use steam unlocked, havnt had an issue there
