My daughter is NHS doctor and was infected in the first wave last March when working at A&E. She is monitored in one of those follow up projects and today she had the latest antibody test and the antibody is still present. Good news.
Is it possible she has been reinfected since then? Not sure how specific the antibody test is in that regard.
Good news!
@@dopiaza2006The likelihood is low. As far as I know some NHS workers with early symptomatic infection were selected for monitoring purposes and she is one of those. They are tested repeatedly at certain intervals with both PCR and antibody. Thus if reinfection occurred then it should have been identified by PCR tests. This of course assumes that PCR results are accurate and that may be a biggish 'if'.
@@maxchen1545
She works in an environment where she (probably) contacts a far greater number of infected people than the general population, that being the case it's far more likely she has been exposed a second time.
The good news for her is every new exposure should improve her resistance.
Reinfection is sporadic and low..
Thank you Dr John, you have kept me calm, and given me confidence in the last year.
Hi, you know why there is no update on the numbers from Ireland? There has been a Cyber ransom attack that has prompted the health services to turn off most health computer systems. The vaccination system is still going well, they are just not updating the numbers. No ransom will be paid and we are starting to come back.
the “ We” only speaks of variants. Something of a turd. What?
Are the computers still switched off in Ireland? I'm amazed they haven't fixed the problem yet.
@@ajs41 We had 448 cases today, it still being announced - this is bollox - www.gov.ie/en/news/7e0924-latest-updates-on-covid-19-coronavirus/

Good for Ireland not paying these crooks.
According to Tim Spector his data shows that even if you have had the two jabs you still need to improve and /or maintain your general health. A vaccine is dependent on your immune system .
i acquired natural immunity,i am totally immune to the coronavirus and any of its mutations,i cant get it again and i cant infect anyone, the interferon immune system wont allow that, once the interferon immune system is primed if the coronavirus or any of its mutations enter the system within minutes the interferon immune system releases the suitable anti body and kills it ,thats why if you acquire natural immunity you dont have to worry about the coronavirus or any of its mutations and you certainly donot have to worry about infecting anyone else,it simply isnot possable,i donot need any vaccines, only a very stupid person would have an untested vaccine, its ridiculous ,the cure for covid is 18mg ivm and 50mg zinc taken once a day for 4 days in a row ,i messaged certain doctors who are prescribing ivm they where not using ivm as a highly effective anti viral treatment and they where not using zinc,it wont bloody work without zinc, anyways i told them the dose is 18mg ivm and 50mg zinc taken once a day for 4 days ina row,all their patients without exception recovered, many where at deaths door to watch them recover in 12 hours is like watching a miracle and these scum bags wont prescribe it,most of them wont, they need putting in handcuffs for this disgusting assault on human health,i will play a big part in that , the emergency use of vaccines requires that there is no alternative treatment so they got doctors who swear an oath not harm us not to prescribe ivm and zinc,i wonder what a high court judge would make of this,do you think a high court judge will say its ok to let patients die when a very cheap life saving protocol is available and has been available for over 40 years,

Good Evening every one and Dr. Campbell!
Just think that if the CDC, NIH, Fauci, WHO and FDA really had the people's health in mind and allowed the usage of ivermectin, most of these individuals might have lived and the long haulers might have gotten milder cases.
Just think if they all got behind HCQ 12 months ago!
If they admitted Ivermectin worked from the outset the vaccines would not have been granted emergency authorisation as the legislation states there must be no other available existing option whatsoever in order for emergency use to be granted. This is why they did a hatchet job on HCQ and Ivermectin deliberately skewing trials or simply keeping quiet about their success rates.

We have to actually tell people if we want them to follow guidelines. A friend of mine, in one of the areas, travelled down to see her parents for the first time in 14 months. When she got there she heard that she shouldn’t have been travelling. She was mortified.
The criticism is not political. It’s appropriate. The Uk Government (yet again) got this incredibly wrong. They didn’t even tell local government and health services, so they couldn’t advise their constituents/patients as to the correct thing to do.
One wonders if it was deliberate as a distraction from the Cummings revelations they knew were coming today...but then I remind myself not to mistake incompetence for conspiracy.
Absolutely correct there's literally no point implementing advice or guidance if you don't tell anyone. How is it political to point this out? Please let us know what are the “vested interests” you mention (1m 25s), that you say are discouraging vaccination. We could lobby against them. Most of the criticism I have heard from people challenging vaccination is to the contrary i.e. they say it is the pharma companies’ vested financial interests and governments’ and associates’ control interests that are running the show.
Good question. I was wondering the same.
Who has the power? Who has benefited the most from this entire “pandemic”? Government power has increased beyond imagination! This rise has only been outpaced by big pharma profits! THEY are the vested interests and they are behind the drive for universal, global vaccination. When has humanity benefited from such a union of government and big pharma? If those two really cared at ALL for our actual health and welfare they would have told the truth on vitamin D and made it available for all. The same goes for HCQ and Ivermectin. Instead the ignore these treatments, downplay their benefits or just LIE and say they are dangerous. Anyone who now trust big government + big pharma is a hopeless fool.
I am guessing he means vaccine nationalism as in discredit other countries to cause disruption. I don't think it's that bad but certainly there seems to be bias, looking at other countries vaccines with a more critical eye than their own country.

Cases are down because less people are getting tested. I’ll believe cases are down when COVID hospitalizations/deaths are lower than at any point since March 2020.
Tests are still over 750,000 a day. That's a hell of a lot. Certainly enough to call an accurate amount of cases. Deaths have been in single digits per day for the last 2 months. I feel even after the vaccination programme is complete, this is the ambient level of disease that will remain. Everyone in the vulnerable groups has been covered by their 2nd dose now. It's at around the same level as road traffic deaths.
Daily deaths yesterday: 9. Daily deaths on 31 March 2020: 1408. It's time for you to believe that cases are down.
So what has been concerning me as a 28 year old who works in a bustling Theatre, is the reopening of the 21st of June. I have not had either of my vaccine jabs yet and I am worried that I may only be about 33% immune by the time I return to work. We receive up to 1,500 customers per show, sometimes two shows a day, so 3,000 people coming from completely different areas of the U.K. every single day. If they eradicate social distancing measures, then those of us who are only partially protected are still in danger, are we not, of potentially serious illness? No guarantee that us 30's and under won't get badly ill. Even though the younger generation are less likely to die from it, there have been enough cases to raise concerns. Would it not be best then, with the Indian variant in mind, for the Gov to wait until the adult population has received both doses? I get we all want to desperately return to normal, but I do feel like it is still somewhat of a risk that we would be taking. Just curious to see what others think and if I may be worrying too much...
My heart bleeds for you. The fear of exposure alone would kill me. Wear a mask.
Here's what could be a supid question: I know we're testing the nasal cavity for signs of the virus. I know we're testing the sewage systems for the virus.
Is there a reason why we're not testing stool samples in folks who have been vaccinated?
Could this virus lurk in the gut?
Also, we know after contracting chickenpox the virus can lie dormant and then later reappear as a case of shingles. Are there any studies trying to determine if this virus behaves similarly?
I think I have seen reported evidence that in 'long covid' a residual pool of virus might persist in the gut. Not a stupid question at all. I'm pretty sure this bloke has mentioned it: ua-cam.com/users/bazookading (he has long covid himself)

Another fine program on the pandemic. The reports from India indicate the lethality and spread of b.1.617 -2 is twice as bad as the 'wild type' a la Dr Fauci.. the original 2010 era D614G 's' strain last year. It is even stronger than the b.1.1.7 kent UK strain this winter and spring here in the USA which is about 1.3 to 1.7 times stronger than the wild type d614g. So modeling is like 1 spreads to 2 to 4 to 8 to 16. Instead of 1 to 1.1 to 1.3...as we have seen it to press. Less time for contact tracing. And a local testing surge. A 90 day lockdown is a thing of the past. This is endemic now.

In the US, we're starting to run into vaccine hesitancy. It's not just people who flat out refuse the vaccines, but there are also people who either had COVID and think they don't need a vaccine, or people who are poor, rural, or aren't bothering. In the US, I expect a "final wave" as the masks come off, and all these unvaccinated people are infected and recover. We'll get to herd immunity, one way or another.
Why are you not including the natural immunity, from those who had covid - whether symmtomatic or asymmtomatic.
Vaccines are miles ahead of it. 38m+ vs 4.6m confirmed cases.
Because that doesn't suit the narrative.
What about the narrative that the antivax nutcases are freeloading on the immunity provided by those taking the vaccine?

@@dcarbs2979 Confirmed cases have to be multiplied by 7 than you have actual figure.
There are studdies here or there which proove that more people have antibodies than should in that sample. Its all over the place but very very quiet. Going to grocery in mask was vaccination for many of us. Pitty that GDPR didnt allow to show flag in public "people visiting this place had confirmed covid". Great work doctor. I appreciate your straight forward presentation of the facts. You said that there is a lot of misinformation out there in the public regarding vaccines. If you know what that misinformation is and can rebut it, please do.

Don't actually think Dr John likes dealing with specifics as they may well run contrary to his pro vaccine narrative. He prefers terms like "Vast" which are impactful but essentially meaningless in this context.
One of the aspects in regards to vaccines that I cannot find consistent opinion about is Allergy to vaccines. As people how prone to allergenic reaction most likely would not participate in clinical trial. Can we rely on the safety data from trial in regards to allergy? Are there any data and differences between vaccines in regards to allergenic reactions?
I have severe allergies myself. And I have trouble breathing where I cannot catch my breath. Imagine me getting Pfizer shot, Moderna, or JJ shots? NOT. 1. I do not want the vaccines because of my allergies, which are severe. I take special medication when I have a breathing episode out of nowhere it comes. My windows are shut, I can't run the air conditioner because we now have cicadas invasion and they get into the heat pumps outside and burn the motors. And 2. I do not want the taste of metal in my mouth and lose my sense of taste of food and drinks.
according to data fr Israel and Zoe the percentage of allergies fr the vaccine is under 1%. Given the fact that the overall percentage of allergy sufferers is much higher in the general population that is good news. I had my first Moderna jab last week. Having had chronic allergies in the past i was really nervous. But i was alright though i felt my body was reacting to the vaccine for a few days. No hives or anything just feeling a bit off and sensitive.
The uk got the uk variant first, thats why our cases dropped before other countries...not due to vaccinations, Boris Johnson said so himself
Thanks again
Do not listen to the trolls…my family have had Pfizer, AZ and Moderna individually….no side effects…JUST DO IT and we can get back to NORMAL

Well said
You’re a right little goody two shoes.
Just do it and maybe join the 1180. It's a choice.
Great for you and since you are pushing people for it I can assume you will be helping the few who have not been so lucky. The odds are good but unless you are willing to take responsibility for others you may want to let them decide if they want to risk it.
Lucky you. I've had pain in my left arm and shoulder ever since my first AZ jab on 9 March. A complicating factor is that I'm a music college trained violinist and can barely continue playing now. A cyst has developed near my left shoulder joint and I'm going for a scan soon. I'll have the 2nd jab but in my right arm!
Reaction at my local surgery, oh it's well documented now that AZ often gives pain for two months. That's been well hushed up😟
If you're going to claim "Vested Interests" are opposed to the vaccines, please elaborate. It's hard to believe any person or entity gains from opposing vaccines.
I was shouting at the video for him to validate that statement.
I am not opposed to vaccines and I am a vested being due to being Aussie. 30%. Of Aussies say no.
John, you are getting some details wrong, you said we open up on 21 July, should that not be 21 June or has it been revised. Keep doing the fantastic job of keeping us up to date and it seems ahead of Government Thinking, i have no doubt you have saved some lives over the course of this pandemic.
I had my second dose of AstraZeneca yesterday, and also watched the Cummings revelations, my comment at first thought on this below;
It's very difficult in the PM's shoes to call the right shots when it appears there was no plan (Why Not), having said that it is very important to learn the lessons needed as there was mistakes made, the first and foremost the underestimate of the virus and what it could do, we actually got of lightly with this pandemic and are extremely fortunate to have got to the stage we are now.
I never want to see that underestimation again, having worked in Animal Health Outbreaks for thirty years some of us did not underestimate it and still do not, as tough measures are needed at the start with any outbreak, you only have to look at the Taiwan and South Korea measures to see that. It seems MP's were not up to speed on disease prevention and measures despite it being top of the risk register, very very lax, and not what the public deserve.
Australia has also had an increase due to the India variant. The state of Victoria has gone into a 'circuit breaker' lockdown and travel to and from NZ to there is suspended.
May it run it's cause.
Thank you..
If you say that you only need to vaccinate 80% of the population to achieve herd immunity, that leaves plenty of room for those of us who do not wish to get the Covid jab without anyone feeling endangered.
drcharlieward.com/death-is-the-penalty-for-crimes-against-humanity/
Yes. There is a freeloader benefit. Note though that Covid has not gone away. The unvaccinated are just less likely to encounter an infected person. If there is an infection in a community with a low vaccination rate then the virus will likely spread quickly through that community. A similar phenomenon is seen with measles outbreaks.
@@martypoll Martin, what is the function of a vaccine? It's to stimulate your body to produce antibodies - that's all. The vaccine does not fill your body with antibodies, it stimulates your body to produce them. So what is the difference between a vaccine stimulating your immune response as opposed to being exposed to the infection naturally? None. In fact, natural immunity offers better protection because we make antibodies against the whole spike protein, not just a portion of the spike like the vaccine does. So people like me have better protection against serious reinfection. Therefore, someone who has recovered from the virus can offer convalescent plasma to the very sick - the vaccinated cannot. So why on earth would I want to risk my health or life the way thousands have by taking this dangerous pharmaceutical concoction?
@@martypoll Your freeloader benefit comes from people like me who have produced antibodies naturally.
@@sassy3923 No argument from me. You didn’t say that you had been previously infected.

I don't know about other towns, with high numbers of cases of the Indian variant, but I live in Bedford, where the outbreaks are concentrated in small areas of the town, mostly occupied by South Asians. The fact that vaccine hesitancy is very high in the Asian community, due to myths about it containing pork, with over 80% of adults in some areas refusing the vaccine and the Eid festival haven't helped. I'd be in favour of keeping some local restrictions in place and locking down very small areas, such as a street, housing estate, postcode etc. if vaccine uptake is low and rates are high in that area.

Madness. Where did the spanish flu go after 18 months ? Where have all the other pandemic causing viruses gone. Why did they mutate into less lethal pathogens. Why is this one different. Why are previously infected folks being told to get it now. How did the human race survive this long ? Why can't these questions and so many more even be asked ? By all means do what you believe is best but for goodness sake don't be cowed into not asking. questions. Aspirate or not, exercise or not, how long to quarantine after the injection , do you shed spike protiens and if so for how long. When some old folks died after the injection the WHO said that they were frail, how do you know if your medical condition could make you meet that definition. I suspect that many of the hesitant would respond better if they were allowed to ask any and all questions and receive honest answers instead of shaming and threatening.
Thank you Dr.👍
Such excellent work and clear presentation.
Dr. Campbell, you are a HERO!
Would love to have heard your views of events in parliament today. So sad for health workers to have listened to.
Anyone who was paying attention last year hasn't learned anything new today. Cummings was only stating the blindingly obvious: there was no plan, Hancock lied day after day after day, Johnson is a lazy, incompetent clown. Seriously, who is surprised at any of this information?
Can anyone answer my question about Absolute and Relative Risk Reduction figures for the vaccines please? Why are we only being given the relative risk reduction figures?
"It's a pity we don't have therapeutics as well" - but you know we do, and the UK could be working on getting them to poor countries now, rather than on manufacturing profitable vaccines for "next year".
Profitable ? The Oxford Astra Zenica is the only vaccine produced at cost and not for profit.
Do we have drugs which can stop covid? We do not have any causal therapeutics, ivermectin doesnt work, India is the proof
I just lost faith in Dr Campbell. He knows about Ivermectin, its history, its efficacy and safety in not only parasitic infections but viral outbreaks as well yet he can say this? He's a sellout.
Before y'all rain down on me like a ton of bricks I'm sad to say I'm partially vaccinated on first dose...AstraZeneca

Who would have a "vested interest" in discouraging vaccines?
Exactly this man is not a medical doctor he is a nurse who is so far behind the curve its ridiculous that people listen to him and think he knows something. He is a mouth piece for the Pro vaccine side.
There many groups labeled "anti-vaxers" who have been throwing bricks and stones at every vaccine that has been introduced in the past 35 years. Their obsession takes the form that it is harming the "children".
We have unprecedented rates of any number of childhood diseases and learning disabilities and rather than looking at environmental factors the vaccines are the current target. My belief is that the water we drink, the air we breathe, the processed food we eat, have a bigger impact on all humans, than the vaccines designed to trigger anti-bodies.
