Tim's speaking voice is one reason Storytime with Tim is so much fun. The audience shows their age brackets by which set of characters they recognize. Or more correctly - which ones they don't recognize.
Yes, the opening is Simpsons, mom and dad are The Jetsons, Sister Bertha better than you is from Recess,in the rededication the Carmichaels from Rug Rats and the Granny is Granny with Tweetybird,and the little boy is Bambam from the Flintstones. And yesthats the guys!
I think the pastor is supposed to be a representation of Ray Stevens to pay homage to him. 🙂👍🏼
As you mentioned, love the musical interjections in the backing vocals that Home Free throws in, like whistling "Dixie" after the first few opening lines, or "in his drawers"....and in case you didn't catch it, the interjection, "There once was a sailor filled with shame" is sung to the opening melody of "The Wellerman"

It is meant to be the boys. I think they were doing a "funny " on Tim's grey in his hair. Front row is Tim, Rob, And Austin. Back row is Adam and Chance ( with the beard). The little extras add so much to this song. I love this!!!!!

I've watched this a few times and never got them either despite growing up with Jetsons and Flintstones and watching Recess later on.
Ray Steven's loved this, he mentioned it in a interview, I believe.
That was such a fun rendition of this song. And loved the animation! Tim is perfect for the narrating of this song. This was originally done by Ray Stevens in 1984. There is a live version of this you should check out. He is a country & pop singer-songwriter & comedian known for his novelty hits such as "Gitarzan", "Ahab The Arab", "Along Came Jones", "The Streak" & others. But he also did a few serious songs such as "Misty" & "Everything Is Beautiful" which he won a Grammy for in 1970.
Ray Stevens was noted for his novelty songs ("Along Came Jones", "Sittin' Up with the Dead", etc.) but he also has a gorgeous gospel album & his rendition of "Misty" is unforgettable. Ray Stevens had a summer replacement show with Mama Cass in 1970 (parts of it are on y/t). I love this video - it's just perfect.

Totally with you on KBW, one of the funniest. Every curse and swear word, but so lovable it's hard to be offended (saw him with a quite reserved friend and even he had tears rolling!). His Christmas album gets played every year to unsuspecting friends 😂
Man, you missed at the end Austin's very high note that he held for sometime 😮 And at the very beginning and end the old man in the rocking chair, kind of remind me of mister slate or mister sprocket .
When my son was 3 months old I was walking him to church in a stroller when a baby squirrel ran under the stroller. I stopped afraid I was going to run over the little guy when the mother came running down the tree and under the stroller as swell. You would think both would then go back up the tree. Nope! They climbed my stout legs shredding pantyhose and up my skirt. There I was jumping Ang screaming slapping at my skirts not ten steps from the doors and right before the windows for all to see.
The squirrels did eventually run down leaving me with more than a couple dozen claw marks per leg.
My mother-in-law at the time complained about me nearly being late and not believing me when I told her why I was a mess. It took several people telling her about me screaming and jumping around then I was lectured on decorum. Let's just say I don't miss those talks but am glad she is still around to love my son as any good grandmother should.

Dan does his for a couple who are suffering the loss of the husband dieing and requesting it for his funeral. If that isn't enough to bring tears I don't know what is.

Hi! I love this song! As for who is who in the video I advise watching born in the USA the cover by homefree while the color isn’t quite right the hair styles look identical to me.
Front row left to right Tim, Rob, & Austin, 2nd row- Adam & Chance. I understand why you didn't recognize them because for some reason the animators changed their hair color. They made both Tim and
Chance blonds and made Adam R with brown hair. Austin's is a reddish brown and Rob's hair is lighter than Austin's and reddish instead of dark brown.
I think they changed Rob's hair color because it was hard to make him look right with dark hair.
It's all intentional, yep! Our boys have been 'cultured' properly. Also, the line-up from the pews: back left is Adam Rupp, back right is Adam Chance, front left Tim, front center Rob, and front right Austin. Threw me off the first watch since Chance's hair is much darker and Adam's is lighter, but hey, they switch other 'characters' hair was different too. It's all good, and all awesome! The harmonies, the artwork, the sass, and Tim's perfect storytime voice :)
Not sure if it was just a coincidence or not but the week this was released was a 50 year anniversary of something in the Cartoon Industry. Great review too!💕

They took some artistic liberties with hair color on the animated HF guys. Once you get past that (it took me awhile) it's pretty easy to tell who's who. 🙂

This is awful. What's the point of releasing this? The animation. particularly the portraits of the band, is poor, the humour is pretty childish. What a disappointing follow up to So Long Dixie.
