I've used PVC couplings to make several molds successfully, but when using stiffer silicone mixes I prefer using flexible(ish) Fernco couplings. No internal ridge to deal with. Just coat the inner surface with a little Vaseline and the cured molds pop right out.
I followed your tutorials for a larger pvc coupling and a full set of dice and everything came out great. Do you think there is an advantage to using the small couplings over the large one?
The biggest advantage is that if one of your dice molds fails, you can just make a new one. In a slab mold, or long mold, you would have to make a whole new mold or fill up that failed spot, ever missing that one die. Biggest disadvantage to the individual molds, is the amount of silicone used.
@@HzCustoms that was my biggest thing. The slab mold wasn't as bad on silicone as I thought it would be, but the individuals look like it would be double the amount. I might still try it on a future set. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. If I make higher shore molds, I'll keep this in mind.
I really am hooked on the acrylic long molds.
That sound is almost as satisfying as bubble wrap popping.
I know, right?
It was a particularly rough video back, and I really need to move that overhead Cam...
