Just used the trim coat on my 2yr old rav 4. The black was looking faded and grayish until this stuff. Looks amazing after a month of rain and car washing. Shines like I just put it on. Great stuff.

I've added the sealant to my paint and glass, i know they have a dedicated glass coating, but it's still awesome. It lets the water beed up, and you can blow the water clean off the surface without it leaving trails! Usually, with wax and water on glass and paint, the drops would leave smaller droplets. This also helps it self clean in my obervation as it lets the water pick up and retain dust as it sheds off the car. I have not had to wash my car after rains, and i have not had problems with any etching if the rain dries on it.
I bought the ceramic sealant, and I'm now wondering is using the car wash at Sheetz is going to screw up my work. I don't have a place to wash by hand, and it's just easier. You have any take on this?
@@tigergreg8 I've observed that the coating does not do well with acidic soaps/shampoo. ph neutral soaps/shampoo is your best bet at making the coating last. Also, as a topper, I've been trying gyeon wet coat ceramic coating. Both are SiO2 based and they play well. Both coatings are soft, but the ease of application makes up for their performance. I've found that the cerakote lasts about 1.5 months on its own for me.

I bought a used freshly painted 2015 F-150 XLT just over two years ago. The black railings along the truck bed had turned grey along with the mirrors and some other plastic trim. A month later I gave it a two bucket wash and then used CeraKoat Trim Coat on and to this day the parts applied to are still black. Oh, I live in Florida and the truck is parked daily in the sun and stays in my driveway every night.

I think the reason they can't give a period of time that the coating will last isn't because of the paint specifically since other companies can do this. It's the surface in combination with their grid pattern of adhesion. It's fewer contact points than a full ceramic coating that has a contact point essentially everywhere. I think this is the same reason paint can breathe with this coating. Fewer points of contact allow for microscopic airflow. I'm sure it's a great product because everything Cerakote makes is amazing but it seems midway between a quick ceramic detailer and an actual ceramic coating. Would you agree?
Yea i think youre probably right about that assumption. They label it Rapid Ceramic paint sealant so its not a full blown ceramic. They mentioned to me that they want their consumer products easy to use. Rapid Ceramic isnt something that will last 3-5 years but it definitely gives more than a ceramic detailer. I see it just like you, it sits somewhere between the two. The added benefit of the gloss enhancement is an awesome bonus that i wasnt expecting when i first heard about it, but i can see a visible difference especially on darker paints

I have a new 2023 Buick Envision that had 3,200 mil on it when purchased from Dealer. I would like to put a coating on it with knowledge it was a demo vehicle. I have followed the cleaning process and love it with my new Ryobi pressure washer and new microfiber towels + Mr Pink. I would like to put a ceramic polish on it but do not where to start. Please provide a path or link for me to use as reference.
I use the ceramic paint sealant on my boat mainly because it's pretty cheap and very easy to use. After every trip I give her a wash and wipe down with the sealant and the boat looks like new.
trimcoat works magic, unfortunately, i didnt made a good job pre-ping the surface, now i wave to do it again, but there are some spots that still have the product and other that are gray again, (even on the same piece of trim. I feel like I have to remove all protectant and start from a un protected surface, which product or sope I can use to clean my car and have a fressh start.

i understand and can agree with the protection varying from car to car, however there still has to be a minimum. and that should be listed. if on some cars it only lasts 2 weeks, i want to know that theres a chance that could be my car. if all cars get 6 months but some can get a year, thats great
I saw in another video where at the plant, they performed 500 hand washes on a vehicle to test it, and some protection remained, so their claim is 250. Too many variables to make a time-based claim. Do you garage or no, what type of paint do you have, do you live in ND, CA or AK. Mileage may vary.

I'm in the UK and it appears the only seller of this product is Amazon. So that caused me to check out the reviews. I started with the one star reviews just to see if there were any negatives. I was horrified. So many bad reviews all claiming the same thing and showing pictures. Many users state awful results on one piece of plastic and great ones on others, on the same vehicle. I really wanted to use this product but it seems too hit and miss. Do you think the problem is with the type of plastic itself? Would really appreciate your thoughts. No leave the coating you have on there. Rapid ceramic can be applied on top and works great as a sacrificial layer that will protect the other coating!
Trim coat is a good product , paint sealant which I just applied yesterday for the first time , my first problem is that is the worst sprayer I ever used and had to scrub harder to get rid of old water spots in door jams !! After it cured for a day the slickness came out ! how long it last is still up in the air 🤷
This is the honest review that I left on Amazon after my awful experience with Cerakote Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant. There are many other reviews that say basically the same thing. I will say that the headlight treatment has worked great, so far. It's only been a month so I'll see how long it lasts. The plastic treatment worked good at first, but is failing in spots after only 1 month. I'll never by these products again. Total scam on the paint sealant! This stuff left a worse finish on my truck than the original finish, which is sticky. My Dodge truck came from the factory with a clear coat finish called Pearl Coat. It has a nice reflective, shiny finish. But it is sticky and collects dust and dirt and is hard to keep clean. I thought Cerakote would do the trick to slick up the finish and make it easier to clean and keep clean and shiny. WRONG! The finish left on my truck after following the instructions and watching the youtube application video, and applying two coats, is worse than the original finish. IT IS NOT SLICK! After washing or rain, water actually sticks to the vertical sides of my truck! WATER DOESN'T EVEN RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK! Instead, the water beads up in tiny little beads and clings to the surface like a mist. It is much worse than the original finish, which would at least allow the water to run off the sides. Total waste of money and much effort, FOR NOTHING. Can't wait for it to wear off because it's even harder to wash now, seeing as I have to scrub off the road film and stuff that should just rinse off with the pressure washer. I could not be more disappointed and ticked off!

If you reach out to them I’m sure they can give you a detailed explanation on exactly what to do. I think it would depend on if you are just trying to remove the streaks or if you’re trying to remove the whole coating. For the trim coat it’s super important to use on a dry surface. If any moisture gets added in you can have some of those effects
That’s a good point, but I think they based that on the fact that most people that get this will be the end user and doing it themselves. I don’t think they were marketing to the pros applying to a customer vehicle as a full ceramic because it so easy to use that people can just do it on their own

Hey Joseph I asked that same thing and they said that they don’t list a hardness rating for the same reason they don’t give longevity. It will depend on the surface it’s going on. If you lay a hard coating over a soft paint it will be different than a hard coating on a hard paint. Think of it like a piece of wood on a bed. The outer shell is hard but if you push on it it still moves because of the soft layer under.
I am going to try this on my 2001 ford sport trac that has 62 thousand miles . But what do you suggest for rain spots . I have them on my homes windows and my vehicle windows and I have well water with a whole house filter but rain leaves water spots

Outside of their great products and the crazy inorganic polymer plant that they have... I was most impressed with the family like atmosphere of everyone that works there!
It is... Cerakote makes all the inorganic polymers that are used to make ceramic coatings. This one is super easy to use and although its not meant to last as long as the traditional small glass bottle type of ceramic, but it still provides amazing protection and hydrophobic properties. I personally still coat my cars with a traditional ceramic like Gyeon Mohs and then use this as a topper

The place is super impressive and i think they just like to show people what they are all about. I never do any paid deals with detailing related brands cause I always want to be able to share my honest opinion. Their headlight restoration kit is bar none the easiest on the market to use and fantastic results
Yea they dont release alot of products but the ones they do work really well!
I 100% agree. Only thing I'd say is include a few more sanding disks. I hit it with 5k wend sand to finish and it looked brand new.

The trim restorer is amazing, I put some on my faded f150 mirrors and 6 months later they are still glossy black.
