  • My Transalp has been running a little rough at very low revs, so I tried to resolve that with a new air filter and testing the TPS. This was the result.

These are great bikes. I've bought one in June 2023. For circa £2-3K, it makes sense to own one.

Depending on your personal bias/proclivities/amusement/open mindedness/disgust lol, it's amazing how similar my 2012 NC700XA looks from the rider's point of view, looking down at the fairing curves at the front of the tank, the bars, the top triple clamp, turn signals etc.! And the sound, haha with a cheapo DanMoto carbon fibre slip on can, it's very, very much 90* L-Twin sounding too.

Thats very interesting how different bikes can share so much. 👍

Hi Ryan. I dont know what gear you were using but In my experience the reason for the mic distortion was wind noise ...
I can hear it on the video and that level of wind noise will completely overload the mic and cause it to distort.
it's the No1 tech issue for vloggers , you need a quiet helmet to begin with and then mount the mic in the quietest area within the helmet .. I have a video on my channel about the subject you may want to have a quick look at . All the best, Dave

Hi Dave, thank you i will watch that with interest. Im sure my gear was far from the best, but i was surprised just how bad the result was.

The bike is easy and fun to ride but, have anyone solved the rear shock destroying your back problem? I did a service on the shock, tried every setting i could try, i even tried a hyperpro spring. Nothing works. Have anyone installed an aftermarket shock, a yss or something like that?

Hi, it's interesting to read you opinion on the rear shock. I have tried the full range of settings and found the standard factory setting worked best for me, and It's certainly no true off roader, but rides well over almost any surface for me.

@@RyansGarageUK I have no problem with off roading. I've actually done hundreds of km off road and it works very well. I've done a mod in the shock with a 1cm longer rod, so it's taller and has more travel. My problem is only on small quick bumps and holes. The bike feels like falling of a cliff and then hits me back very hard. I 've added more preload now so the the bike pushes harder against the road and i think it feels a bit better, and set the compression to stock setting.

Hi, my Transalp 700 in deceleration has crackles and pop. Also your bike has the same?

Hi, no my Transalp does not do that. It's simply quiet when off the Throttle. Maybe yours has been remapped?

Hey mine does it too. '09 model. Sometimes it's so loud is like a gunshot. This is solved when i change sparkplugs, but it still does minor pops. This bike needs sparkplug change very often. Nowere near the 12K the manual says. I did a valve and engine check for this. There was no problem there. I think it has very bad ecu mapping by default. The 650 engine works much smoother.
