    I agree build the bike how you like it , that said I think the seat is to thin , I would recommend making you own seat down to the original frame hight or make side number plates . Try different things because you can always put things back how they were .Just go for it ,you can do more than you think

    Ryan, the one thing you should always keep in mind is that this is your bike build and whilst anyone can make suggestions, give you ideas or tell you it doesn't look right etc, the final decision is yours with regards to what it looks like and want to achieve. Ensure its safe of course but otherwise , build what you want to build, experiment, learn along the way as its how we go forward. Its great you are getting back to the bike, keep smiling as its going great and im sure everyone who subscribes, is right behind you and cant wait to see how this turns out.

    Hi Ryan love you watching your videos of you working on the honda's I've managed to remove the carburetors an strip then down an cleaning i found it better an easier to remove the shocks an lower wheel an airbox takes longer but its less fiddlely. But anyway my 2 400ns have bin in the shed for now an both batteries are flat an I'm thinking of buying just starter an booster so am unsure what type to so i wondering if had any idea of what you may use for bikes as both my batteries are sealed units an I've bit told you can't use a normal battery charger like you you can the old ascid batteries so any on what you may use. Robbie 👍🏻

    Hi, is this an easy bike to push up a ramp into a shed on a daily basis? Shed sits 20cm off the ground and the ramp is 180cm in length and the door is 90cm wide

    • @RyansGarageUK
      @RyansGarageUK 24 дні тому

      That is not an easy question to answer, as it largely depends on your personal size vs the weight of the bike. It is certainly not the lightest at over 200kg, but personally I would have no trouble doing that incline. I have just measured my handlebars, and they are 80cm wide, so the bike will fit through. I know it’s too late now. But an easier way would have been to look on market place for old kitchen cupboards and pay a few quid for them, then just place work top on top. This way you get storage as well.

    Hey Ryan,it's lovely watching your progress. My previous property was very similar I couldn't afford my dream so I bought an abandoned knackered version in my price range. 16 years, lots of back ache and trickling cash, I sold it to down size, it was my dream house and it bought my current( very modest) property outright. I'm so happy you have this for your family ,as I did for mine. It's going to be a massive task but you will see the benefits. You have to be patient and realistic and tackle each little chunk as time and money allows. Good on you Ryan! I think pretty much all of us realise you're not an heir to a fortune or a lottery winner. Just an ordinary hard working bloke trying to provide for his family. Peace and love brother! 👍✌️❤️

    Hi, I live in France and my garden (1/4 acre at that time) became completely overgrown with head height brambles- 8' scrubs ..I was battling with this over a couple of months - brush cutter. lopping shears etc making little progress. A local farmer saw me struggling and asked if I wanted his help with farm equipment - 3 hours later after the attention of a mulching cutter, chain saw and brush cutter , the garden had been cleared and mulched. He also took away the larger scrubs and branches in his trailer ....all of this for just 150 Euros. I later found out my brother, who lives in the UK, has an arrangement with a local farmer. It made the impossible, possible. I would not have thought of it unless the farmer had suggested it. Good luck with your project.

    Starting capacitors are used to “kick start” single phase motors into spinning. Same things on tumble dryers, etc. A quick way to check is to turn the motor on and start it spinning by hand. If the motor spins, then it is highly likely the capacitor is shot. Replace the capacitor with a like for like and you should be good to go. If the motor does not spin after you manually spin it, it could also be the motor. Brushes? I have replaced the starter capacitors on a few tumble dryers in my time. Hope this helps. 👍🏻

    • @RyansGarageUK
      @RyansGarageUK Місяць тому

    That's what made superdreams smooth, those balance shafts & weights. Balance shaft drive chain might want adjusting. Rode 100,000's of miles on them in the 80's 90's & noughties (4 superdreams in total). Never broke down once in all them decades. Absolute workhorse they are. Where i used to go to the mot with the superdream the tester said every man and his dog had a superdream.

    Get some proper shelving, all the same height,floor to ceiling. Buy a proper tool box,better than a tool board! Then chuck out all the rubbish...whats the chair for?

    • @RyansGarageUK
      @RyansGarageUK Місяць тому

      Hi, I can't disagree with your suggestion, although I am working on a tight budget so can't afford to simply replace all the shelving and buy a good tool box, I was looking at a few and they cost anywhere between £300 and £3000. The chair is so that I can sit at the desk and work on either producing the content or smaller items that take a long time (such as carbs or electrics). Please remember this is my hobby in my garage at home and not a commercial setup.

    Same LED lights I used in my shed. Just one point on safety, you should have metal clips that will hold the cables up in case of a fire (consult latest regs for exact spacing), this is to reduce the possibility of a fireman getting caught up in wires in a building fire.

    Back in the day when i had a total of 4 superdreams that i owned, i did the exactly the same as you, and also i used to press down on the top of the cam chain tensioner blade with a long flat bladed screwdriver, and at the same time tighten the cam chain tensioner lock nut. When pressing down on the cam chain tensioner blade with the screwdriver it has the effect of slightly bowing out the cam chain tensioner blade, giving the camchain a little extra push. It works especially well on superdreams with worn camchains. I did 25,000 miles a year on superdreams with a total of 200,000 miles from 4 superdreams, and never had to replace a cam chain.

When you did the build on yours, did you replace the bushes at the top and bottom of the shocks? I can only seem to find the lower bushes. Also wondering if i should replace the swingarm bushes too, but again cant seem to locate any. Any help would be great!
