    Even with a bad interviewer, Jake is a legend on the stick

    “Whether it be deep water, whether it be darkness, or whether it be the skin color of another man.”
    Jake was not just a mere wrestler, he was a *philosopher.*

    "Here in the interview area, ready to interview". I found that funny. If I were nervous, I'd probably do worse.

    Jake is cream as usual. Here is a guy who knew how to get the most out of saying the least and getting your attention and playing with your emotions and knowing when to pull you and push you. Jake was one of those wrestlers that could scare you. Didn't so much scare me as a kid but intrigued me because I was already desensitized when I saw him but he was over with me immediately and stayed over. I really wish he could have done a program with Hogan but Vince knew that Jake would have damaged Hogan's popularity because he was over just as much as Hogan.

      Let's not get too hasty here. Snake was getting popular but he was not that popular enough for a Hogan-level feud.

      You are completely wrong they started one the fans were cheering Jake louder then Hogan so they all decided to stop that feud Vince, Hogan and Jake have all said so in interviews

    That's true...Do you think interviewers and ring announcers play a vital role in wrestling?

      +Toni Michelle Back in this era, yes. Today, since everything is so scripted, I would say not so much.

    Just out of curiosity, what do you think makes a good interviewer?

    • @trustmeddt
      @trustmeddt  8 років тому +9

      +Toni Michelle Personally, it's one that doesn't take the attention away from the guy he's interviewing or the match itself and also doesn't try to "get over". They should also be good at reactions (facials, etc) and following up on points made by the interviewee.

      I know, it's a shame since Jake's promo is great. He did a lot of Spectrum interviews during this time and he was just as bad in them too. Check this one out and how he cuts Jake off mid-sentence - ua-cam.com/video/XPlhZJGPanQ/v-deo.html

      Yeah at times Killer Kal was too much of a mark for the wrestlers, and way too friendly with some of the heels. Sometimes it makes him likeable and fun, but most of the time it feels awkward and out of place. 😕
