YeKermo Sew (Amharic) means "Man of Next Year," often said in a blessing during the current New Year's Day. "May you be a man of next year," goes the blessing.
Mind blowing piece! Thank you Mulatu🙏 But I heard this before... And it's not so much based on Horace's Silver 'Song For My Father' as it feels almost identically... to The Classic: 'Kind of Blue'! It's all in the rythm. That rythm. Now it seems to me like 'Yekermo Sew' is sharing the sound Spirit of Miles Davis. Can't imagine better tracks to follow. Still it's good to acknowledge these kinds of connections: here I understand that the catchy theme here is consciously or not borrowed from Miles. It's amazing to listen to such masterpieces. Amazing is how easy is the access to such infinite worlds. Anyhow if you ever felt like you heard this one before check out the beginning of So What and the ending of Freddie Freeloader, how close can you get?! I salute all of you, who have ears to hear!
Oh I did. What a mess that is. Not just together, they really mess it up. It's like it's... white people trying to play Ethiopian music but they haven't quite figured out how the scale works :D. Also too many added notes. Completely takes the groove out of it.
@@rollingtroll That is a racist statement. You should now leave the internet permanently. That trumpet player doesn’t look particularly ‘white’ either. You racists are all the same 😔🦜🌈🧀😽🎸🏦🌼🦋🥁😔
You all try to find a hair on watermellon, why don't you just enjoy the music? Listen to the studio version if you don't like this one. Master Mulatu is great on the vibraphone
We should thabnk Horace Silver for writing "Song For My Father," for which this lacking display cannot be blamed. Riffs but no stream of expository ideas
I was there....One of the best experience in my life, good times

Nobody noticed how bad the sax and trumpet sounded together?
