Hi Belinda, I've been working with sucragel and sapogel Q. While I love that they gel beautifully, I don't like the "taste" of it when used as a lip product. How do you address this? Plus, won't moisture from the mouth cause it to turn milky where you don't want it to?
Oily gels made with sucragel and sapogel are intended for application to the face and skin - not the lips. Please watch one of our lipgloss videos for products for the lips.
Please google the supplier name to find your regional contact or join your local Society of Cosmetic Chemists to build your network. hi dear, so excited about your videos. but I have a question if you can help please, can I use sapogel q-formulated oil gels to create encapsulates in hydra gels??
No, but please watch one of our many videos on encapsulates which will give you some great ideas on how to make your own or use what is already out there. Go to our youtube channel ua-cam.com/video/1_UAzzq84jM/v-deo.html and type in encapsulates in the search bar we have heaps of videos on this topic. You can also learn how to formulate advanced products like this with encapsulates in our Diploma of Personal Care Formulation: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/DiplomaofPersonalCareFormulation-479/

If I were to add an extract (one I make myself), which isn’t a water based, glycerin based or oil based extract... would it still work in it? Where you say to add your EOs, other oils, etc (in the second part)? Or would I need another kind of formula? Thank you for sharing your video! I’m saving up for a course with your institute! So, I’m trying to learn things on my way before the course, and of course correct information if need be when I get to the course phase, I’m so intrigued and excited... I can’t wait! 🤗
Hi Shannon, if its not water, glycerin or oil based, what is the solvent for the extract? When adding water based materials, remember it needs to be stabilised in an oil continuous phase - so it turns it into a w/o emulsion; if oil based, you could use one of these materials. Sorry I can't help more without knowing what that base solvent is. We do have a formulation review service if you have a product you need us to review/assist with selections: personalcarescience.com.au/Advice/cosmeticformulation,brandadvice-797/
Hello! Thank you for replying to me, first of all. So, what I was referring to is basically a fruit liquid (juice without pulp consistency), that I have created with a proprietary method - so I can’t really say too much... but after thinking about it, and reading your comment, it’d probably be more of a “water” based item... or at least products where I need water phases - I can use it. But without heating it as the benefits would potentially decrease like most “extracts”. But thank you so much replying and sharing your knowledge, and for letting me know of your other service. I wasn’t aware of it and it definitely could come in handy in the future! Have a lovely day/night! 🤗

Unfortunately there isn't :( You can use an oil compatible rheology modifier that is natural but they generally also boost viscosity in the finished product, so it takes a little bit of work to get it 'just right' and you do rely on your emulsifiers more.
