Your instructional videos are awesome! I have watched numerous German Short Row 'how to' videos, from various vendors. Yours is the first one that I went AH HA!!!!! And it all made sense! And it also made it so I could actually see the return and how to knit the two legs together! THANK YOU!
I just picked up junk journals because of what you showed on your FB lives! I'm making the first one for my mom for Mother's Day and I know she's going to love it! Thank you for sharing your individual projects with us as well as all of the knitting and crocheting tutorials! You are such an inspiration! 💞🧶
I tried the German short rows not long ago and that confused the heck out of me. Your video explaining and showing how to do them is awesome. Thank you so much, Chandi!
Thank you for this give away🥰. i have been knitting shawls since I started about 10 yeras ago. Off course I do love stripes and short rows. This years I just started crocheing, knitting socks and I made my first ever top down sweater. A huge revolution for me... It sounds like a lil’ step for the lady, but a huge one for my needles 🤣🤣🤣
@@ExpressionFiberArts when I started knitting years ago, I couldn't figure out how to purl. The video you made on how to knit helped me so much, now I'm able to purl stitches together 🤣
I have been learning patience with myself 😊. It is equally important to have love and grace for yourself if you don’t get it right away and that was something that I had to recognize and incorporate into this beautiful craft ❤
I love hearing your words of wisdom. Especially that knitting is not a race. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed that I not knitting fast enough. So thank you.
Beautiful pattern and yarn! This year I finally learned to knit socks and am in awe of the magic of turning the heel. Thank you for another great pattern and instructional video. The names of your patterns are always insightful and your tutorials are easy to follow and the camera work of each video is excellent. Take care.
I haven't learned a new crafting technique but I am learning to relax...go camping.... new to me! :) Thank you so much for sharing all your beautiful shawls and tops.... very inspiring... 💞
That is so gorgeous. I love the movement and subtle colour. It's very special. I have been focusing on getting projects finished this year. I find that having contrasting yarns and techniques on the go at the same time works for me. I'm currently working on a crochet v stitch wrap, a teeny raffia 'fairy' basket, some chunky front post - back post crochet wrist warmers and a little drawstring bag shaped like a sheep. I keep them in separate fabric bags, so I can take them out with me if needed and I don't lose the hook😂 Crochet has been a total lfe saver for me through tough times. Getting by, one stitch at a time brings calm and positivity. I recently learned how to crochet flowers and have made some garlands for friends. I'm going to put some in a run down part of town too, to cheer it up.
Jane knocked it out of the park, again!!! Beautiful shawl!!! It's on my list too. I haven't learned anything new, I've been teaching 2 young girls how the Latte headband. They did really well, now 1 is making the Boho shawl and the other is making the Morning Mist shawl. I guess I learned how to teach crochet! Now back to the 2nd section of the Mysa Wrap!!! Have a lovely day!!!
This is such a beautiful pattern. What a wonderful reminder to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of your knitting. Andante is the perfect musical term for this pattern. I learned the magic loop method for knitting in the round. I will be using it often.❤
I’m always looking for new things to learn but there are so many new skills I want to learn and projects that I don’t have time to do everything I want to learn. A lot of the new things on my list are the free patterns you have shared on your channel. I feel so accomplished when i get learn something new and get it right! I've been exploring a lot lately, rediscovering my love of crafts! My latest love is finding fun projects to do with my scrap yarn, including baskets and blankets! Super fun!
I’ve knit for years and German Short Rows were a new concept to me until this year. You do have to pay attention or you’ll end up missing a turn. I learned this the hard way. LOL Love your tutorials and can’t wait to start this beautiful shawl. Just need to get the yarn. LOL
I absolutely looove this crescent shawl. Jane always creates such lovely patterns. Thank you for sharing this with us! You have taught me to do so many knitting techniques. I am really enjoying learning brioche this year. Thanks for sharing that lesson as well.
Until three years ago I knew only boaring and old fashioned chrochet patterns/Designs. Since I am your follower I learned a lot about crocheting techniques with the help of your videos. At the moment I prefer crocheting and I am crazy about your lace patterns and crocheted Sweaters/cardigans.
This shawl is so beautiful! This year so far I've learned to cable ( which I absolutely love )❣️ I hope your day is filled with love, health, laughter & lots of blessings 💗😊

Welcome to the club! These videos are great since you're probably more comfortable holding the yarn in your non-dominant hand (continental style), and most tutorials are English style and are hard to follow for crocheters first learning to knit (I know from experience lol)
I recently learned a variation of the crochet cable stitch for my daughter's wedding afghan. It's quite beautiful. Regarding this week's shawl, I didn't know the garter stitch could look so pretty. Thank you for your instructional videos. You make projects doable... and you have such a calming spirit.
I've been knitting and crocheting for years, but this last year I started learning how to sew and I'm finding ways to combine all three crafts in my wardrobe!
First I want to say Chandi I hope you feel better soon. I'm a bit under the weather right now too. I'm making the knitted version, Panopeia, that you shared a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it. The lace section has a K3pass stitch. This was a new stitch for me. It is a simple stitch that makes a beautiful lace. Thank you so much for all the wonderful patterns you and the designers share. Every chance I get I tell people about EFA. Not only about the you tube channel but also and most important the most scrumptious hand dyed yarn. You, Tim, and your staff have one of the best small family businesses that are out there. I buy almost all my hand dyed yarns from you and one other indy dyer. I'm very picky when it comes to hand dyed yarn. Funny enough both of you are located in the eastern and considered southern part of the US. Since I'm in Michigan that means a lot. OK enough rambling. Love and best wishes.
Chandi I love your videos, your voice is so calming. Knitting is not something I do, wish I had the time to learn, but for now I am working on perfecting my crochet skills. Your yarns are absolutely gorgeous, being on fixed income and the prices of food being what they are, unfortunately I will never be able to afford such a luxury. Just know that I am so grateful for your time and proud for your accomplishments. Keep on keeping on lady. Bless your sweet soul. Hugs
Thank you for bringing us such a calming pattern! I learned how to cross stitch this year, and found it also really scratches an itch for a simple, but beautiful, crafting experience 😊
What a beautiful shawl! The crescent shape sets it apart. I just purchased the hooks to learn Tunisian crochet as my new craft for this year. Thank you for the chance to win some of your fabulous yarn. ❤
The German short row is my favorite way to make a sock! I made my first I cord shoulder straps, the other day. It’s so simple, but it makes such a wonderful, strong shoulder strap!
Your yarn is so beautiful! I am trying to learn to give myself grace when I make mistakes. Sometimes that is such a challenging thing to do. Thank you for all the lovely patterns you share.❤
I haven't knitted for a while. I'm going to try this one to start back up with the knitting. This past winter I started painting holiday decorations and bird houses.
I just can’t get enough of your videos and your beautiful spirit. Your positivity is so uplifting Chandi! I’m practicing Tunisian crochet and finding it hard to keep the back smooth. I need to look through your videos to see if you have any helpful info. Thanks again for this inspiring video. I want to try this German short row technique. ❤
Your tutorials are wonderful. One fun new interesting technique that I have learned this year is brioche, It was really fun to knit Jeanne once I got the rhythm down. Thank you for your enthusiasm.
I did my first color work this year and found it so fun!! Love the shape of this shawl. Short rows would be new for me too. Thanks for such nice clear instructions. Be blessed!!
This pattern is so intriguing and I look forward to making it one of these days. I want to learn how to do mosaic knitting. In a different craft category, last summer I took a class at the library that taught acrylic pour painting and it was so much fun! I love the abstract, fluid nature of it and how it's not about perfection, but flow and unfolding of color and beauty.
Haven’t learned a new technique this year but I decided to try lace knitting again after many years. Much more fun with a little more patience, practice, and personal grace!
This shawl is so beautiful and elegant. Thank you again for sharing these patterns with us! A "new" craft a friend of mine recently re-introduced me to is using the shrink plastic (as a kid they were called shrinky dinks) with flower paper punches and some special bead molds you can get off Etsy with a heat gun. They end up looking like little stained glass flowers that we added some seed beads to and made into earrings.
Thank you for your free patterns and tutorials. So appreciated. I love your spirit and positivity. This year I tried brioche knitting for the first time. I enjoy stretching m’y knitting skills…even though it can be very frustrating at times
Hi Chandi. Thanks for your clear close up videos on how to do stitches. I love your yarns, patterns and your entire business is a class act! I learned how to do the Half Brioche stitch this month. 🧶
I love that the linen color is consistent through all the various colorways. I'm still working on learning to do cables, first with a cable needle, then I'm hoping to learn how to do them without the cable needle. Thanks for this lovely pattern and beautiful yarn!
Thanks for another video. I knit the Sweetgum sweater last year and I love it! Video tutorials help us all so much to learn new techniques. Last weekend I began to learn entrelac knitting. Now I have more projects to try!
Another wonderful pattern! I learned to knit this year, coming from years of crochet. There was just so many lovely knitting patterns I wanted to try ❤
Indeed, but I keep coming back to that blue which connects everything: a hint here, a tease there; color combinations I wouldn’t have thought of during my time as a graphic designer. And now, decades later, I did a head slap, knowing I likely hadn’t used color in so elemental a manner. Simplicity is the most difficult thing to design.
Your videos are always wonderful to watch and learn or refresh your memory. Thank you for all you and your husband do. This year I have started to learn weaving on a 4 harness Jack Loom made by Harrisville in NH. Amazing craft that I can also use some of the wonderful EFA yarns that are in my stash. This shawl is anther wonderful pattern that is going on my list of things to knit. Have a wonderful weekend.
I learned to do an icord bind off when making a sweater for our dog. I love the way it looks and it was a fun technique to learn. Have a wonderful day ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been knitting socks and I’m learning to work cables, holding a cable needle both in the front and back as well as holding the knitting needle too. It’s a bit tricky for me but I love learning all the new things that knitting holds for me. I love your videos as well as your yarn. I’ve been buying it for years nite and it’s always my favorite yarn!! In fact, the sick kits I’ve been getting have your yarn in some of them!! God bless you and Tim!!
Love this new design! this year I learned how to do mosaic knitting and just finished the Knit Love Shawl by Ambah O'Brien for a friend. The new yarn looks amazing!
Dear Chandi, Your intros are more beautiful and inspiring every time❤. This is one of the most complicated stitches I learned from you. But I am tempted to try it as I received my signature fingering yarn a while ago and have not started antything with it yet. I am currently knitting the journey shawl (which is just sooo beautiful , complete with the story and everything) - it is the first time I actually follow a written pattern. Until now I simply used the stitches I learned from you for inspiration for my projects.
The German Twisted cast on has changed my sock game. I have always had trouble with my cast on edge being to tight and unyielding before I discovered this cast on. Have a great weekend
Such a beautiful pattern! I love German short row knitting! This year I’m learning to knit lace and opens up a world of more complicated patterns that make me pause!
Beautiful shawl! I've been knitting my grandchildren sweaters and I've been on a cowl kick this year! I think this shawl is in my future! I am subscribed to your UA-cam!
What a spectacular pattern! And that yarn …. So unique and inspiring! … makes me want to get started right away. I love German short rows and the effect they create. Thank you for this pattern and all your great tutorials!
Chandi, you make knitting look so easy. I have never tried knitting German short rows. I will give it try eventually after I finish all of my other knitting projects. I did learn something new from you on how to add beads to a shawl. I tried the crochet hook as you demonstrated in your video, but when I tried I was all thumbs and would have to worry about losing the stitch. I came across another technique using a thin wire to hold the stitch and feed the bead onto the shawl and it works. No more worrying about dropping a stitch where I can enjoy knitting my shawl.☺
Your instructional videos are awesome! I have watched numerous German Short Row 'how to' videos, from various vendors. Yours is the first one that I went AH HA!!!!! And it all made sense! And it also made it so I could actually see the return and how to knit the two legs together! THANK YOU!

You're most welcome! 😍
I love that the linen color is consistent through all the various colorways. I'm still working on learning to do cables, first with a cable needle, then I'm hoping to learn how to do them without the cable needle. Thanks for this lovely pattern and beautiful yarn!
My pleasure! And good luck, I'm sure you'll learn cabling in no time. 💚
Thanks for another video. I knit the Sweetgum sweater last year and I love it! Video tutorials help us all so much to learn new techniques. Last weekend I began to learn entrelac knitting. Now I have more projects to try!
That's wonderful! ❤
Another wonderful pattern! I learned to knit this year, coming from years of crochet. There was just so many lovely knitting patterns I wanted to try ❤
That's so awesome!
Such beautiful yarn! I love the playful way the light blue moves throughout.
It's really pretty, isn't it?
Indeed, but I keep coming back to that blue which connects everything: a hint here, a tease there; color combinations I wouldn’t have thought of during my time as a graphic designer. And now, decades later, I did a head slap, knowing I likely hadn’t used color in so elemental a manner. Simplicity is the most difficult thing to design.
I'm new to knitting so watching this tutorial was fun! I love the shape as well!
Wonderful! 💚
Chandi, I love short rows! ❤ A new crafting technique I've learned this year is tunisian crochet. I always love trying new techniques ❤
That's great! ❤
Oh, how wonderful! I love weaving, too. And thank you for the kind words.
I just started knitting, your videos are so good, they are the ones who taught me
Oh, that's wonderful to hear!
Another lovely pattern from Jane! I have been learning about colour pooling this year.
That's great!
So i learned so many new crafting skills. Working with polymer clay, resin, wood burning but i always come back to knitting and crocheting
That's great!
Knitting is my new hobby, just started. Your yarn is deliciously beautiful 🤩
Thank you! 💚💚💚

This is my next project !!! Love the shape and simple stitches

I learned to do an icord bind off when making a sweater for our dog. I love the way it looks and it was a fun technique to learn. Have a wonderful day ❤️❤️❤️
How fun!
This year you have taught me so much Chandi! Like slip stich, Brioche, and so much more!! ❤
❤❤❤
I’ve been knitting socks and I’m learning to work cables, holding a cable needle both in the front and back as well as holding the knitting needle too. It’s a bit tricky for me but I love learning all the new things that knitting holds for me. I love your videos as well as your yarn. I’ve been buying it for years nite and it’s always my favorite yarn!! In fact, the sick kits I’ve been getting have your yarn in some of them!! God bless you and Tim!!
Oh, thank you so much! We truly appreciate that! ❤
Knitting a man’s scarf right now using shirt rows to create a multidirectional scarf. Really fun and is turning out really great!
That does sound fun!
Love this new design! this year I learned how to do mosaic knitting and just finished the Knit Love Shawl by Ambah O'Brien for a friend. The new yarn looks amazing!
Glad that you like it! 💚
Dear Chandi,
Your intros are more beautiful and inspiring every time❤.
Oh, that's wonderful! I'm so happy you find our videos helpful.
The German Twisted cast on has changed my sock game. I have always had trouble with my cast on edge being to tight and unyielding before I discovered this cast on. Have a great weekend
That's amazing! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too!
Beautiful pattern. Thank you for the tutorial. This year I am learning Tunisian crochet and I am new to knitting ❤
That's awesome! Have fun!
Such a beautiful pattern! I love German short row knitting! This year I’m learning to knit lace and opens up a world of more complicated patterns that make me pause!
How wonderful! ❤
Love your videos! Knitting is giving me joy and your tutorials add so much fun to the process!
Oh, that makes me happy to hear!
Beautiful shawl! I've been knitting my grandchildren sweaters and I've been on a cowl kick this year! I think this shawl is in my future! I am subscribed to your UA-cam!
Yay! I hope you love making it!
What a spectacular pattern! And that yarn …. So unique and inspiring! … makes me want to get started right away. I love German short rows and the effect they create. Thank you for this pattern and all your great tutorials!
You're so welcome!
That is a beautiful shawl. This year I learned simple colorwork and how to hold the two yarns one in each hand.
Awesome! ❤
I learned the Bavarian crochet and the single hook needle Afghan knitting.
I really love your signature yarn!
Awesome! I'm so happy you like it!
Glad you found something that works for you.
Gorgeous shawl! And those colors 😍
💚💚💚
I have just learned how to do stranded color work. Beautiful pattern!
How fun!
