- Calories should never be the measure of health. Instead, use nutrient density as your guide. How much good fat, protein, vitamins and minerals can you pack in to each calorie you eat?
This homemade healthy vanilla ice cream uses pastured eggs, raw or non homogenized milk, and sweeteners your body can recognize like honey or organic cane sugar to make a treat you'll love.
8 pastured egg yolks
1 cup (or a little less) organic cane sugar or raw honey
1 1/2 cups whole raw milk
2 1/2 cups raw cream
1-2 teaspoons vanilla
Thank you.
Rachel!🥰 Miss you! Blessings to you and your family. 🙏
Same to you! Thank you!
Yummmy!! Love the creamy yellow color
Gotta love those dark egg yolks!
Rachel, so happy you are back!
Thank you! I’ve been posting for a month or so now. 😄
This is a great recipe, I use it a lot. I have also added about 3 cups of smashed peaches that I had in the freezer. It's also good with frozen orange juice.
Oh absolutely! Strawberries too!
Oh my goodness .. Looks so good
Try it!
❤
Wow , this is good. I want to be there when the kids first taste , G'dam I know how sweet it is!
It’s absolutely delicious! I do tend to reduce the sugar as much as I possibly can but it’s super creamy and filling!
Really a cup of sugar. Everything to do with calories. Watch Dr Berry or Dr Chaffee on diet for Health. Just sharing 😊❤👍🏼I’m sure it’s delicious 😋
What we want to remember is that a calorie is not equal when we add other nutrients. 100 calories of a donut is not the same as 100 calories of sardines from a nutritional standpoint. Of course in this case with ice cream, no one should be eating all of this recipe. And, if they are me, they have 1/4 cup once or twice a year and not on a regular basis. People need a chance to feel normal once in a while and enjoy something that makes them happy. Adding good eggs and raw milk make this a much better option than store bought. As for the sugar, organic cane, while not a perfect choice is much better than gmo sugar beet granulated white sugar and breaks down in the body the same way honey or maple syrup would from a molecular standpoint.
Mmmmm….chocolate version?
Yes! 1/2 cup cocoa powder with the milk!
