@@NFI05no high level modern player uses the auto combos. They suck. The real advantage from Modern is instant reaction supers and DPs

Probably just experimenting Ryu’s buffs make him hit like a truck but he’s still a bit worse than Ken and Luke. Tho that might be enough to make some switch if they jut prefer ryu
Most likely he is just experimenting. Ryu still has a fundamental problem in that his normals are only "ok" and lose to a lot of other characters normals, and he still has no good way of closing the gap. He is probably out of mid tier now.... but still at the bottom of high tier if so.

Iirc there were a lot of pros trying out modern Luke for the lvl 3 super punish during the early launch days
Shuto experimented with modern marisa early on but mainly uses her classic now. Aside from guys like Solvng and Haitani we haven’t really seen much adoption from Modern at the pro level other than experimentation. Despite the outcry’s from scrubs on UA-cam or twitter modern objectively is worst than classic so most pro’s don’t bother with it
It is important to remember even if you are on modern, you can still input the command normally if you want the full damage.
Mordern is basically Super Smash Bros controls for Street Fighter. If you are a veteran player and you play Modern, you are going back to square one since you are used to the old scheme. Mordern is mostly recommended to newcomers. Mind you some characters benefit from Mordern controls
Cant say im the biggest fan of Modern controls but Shuto seems pretty solid regardless. Some of yall are just being petty.
Jeez, shuto has the same playstyle as Daigo did as ken. Looked like he was playing against himself from a few weeks ago.
I notice some thing when watching daigo play. He is very patient and methodical, but he falls into patterns that are easy to see. He will go very passive and im not sure if hes trying to read the situation or wait for an opening but thats when he usually loses. On the other hand there are times he gets aggressive and his reflexes go to god tier and shuts the opponet down. Sadly its been the former lately.

Daigo is def not a pattern player. Never has been. The patterns you recognize are bait and conditioning, a fake pattern meant to elicit a predictable response from your opponent, and force them into a defensive loop. It's not the same kind of pattern play you see online known as flowchart.

@@Raeodor i guarantee you, you wouldn't be able to read him. You're watching a replay. If you got the chance to play him, he'd dominate you. He lost to a fantastic street fighter player here. Not some random. As for the defensive options in this game, it's basically rock paper scissors. This game is known for being aggressive due to DR, DI, and high damage

He's still readable and this guy thought so too as you could see. im a fan of daigo just tired of seeing him get his ass kicked easily lately.
From that records, Diago is a really good training partner for the other player.

I'd hope so but Tokido has always been THE akuma player to watch. Daigo has been Ryu,guile,Ken. I've never known him to play akuma. Closest to that was evil ryu

In America, a few loud people think they speak for everyone. The people you see saying this online don't speak for us. Modern is just a different style similar to x-ism and a-ism in alpha 3 (zero 3). It's just a different player type. If you remember, certain ism styles were more optimal back then. I have no problem with it.

This daigo dude just can't break old habits. He doesn't know how to play Ryu. Ryu is not some defensive turtler in this game. He plays better with a 60/40 offense to defense role. Pick up the offensive assault man and stop playing like it's ssf4
The problem with ryu is he has no flow at all he's bound to the old style his moves are stiff look how many Xs ken comes in with 123 combos if ryu has that I've yet to see it Capcom!!!
For me Capcom should make a super street fighter maker like super Mario maker, with New mode liké sumo mode or a smash Bros mode and a lot of dlc character... Even Britney Spears

modern players only use the modern controls for instant dps and wake up supers, and almost no one at the pro level uses modern to a high skill level compared to classic.
You know “this ken” is a pro player who uses classic more than modern right? And using auto combos is actually a disadvantage in modern more than anything
@@clyde6082 Yes for sure it's a "disadvantage" to have auto combos in a game where EVERYONE consistently drops, just look at the Capcom cup, so yeah those auto combos might not be optimal but since you can't miss it might as well be.
@@heroe1486the modern auto combos are unsafe and unoptimal. Regardless if they’re impossible to drop they usually burn meter and there are easier more optimal combos anyways. So no they’re not really an advantage unless you’re playing against silver players
