    I've been using GrandMA in my church for the last 6 months, with no real knowledge of how to program. The other guys who use the lighting desk keep changing things, so this is incredibly helpful for me (next time I'm near the desk, I'm creating my own executor wing). Thanks so much

    Thanks, this stuff is really useful to newbies trying to wrap their head around the basics of MA. The system is really cool, and not that hard once you explain it, but it's non-intuitive. I was scratching my head a lot before I watched your tuts, then it became clear.

    Thanks very much for this! started using grandma at my new church about 7 months ago and been learning what I can here and there. This is very helpful for my next step in being able to create cue lists for songs at home and bring my show file to church ready to go. Will be looking through your channel for more vids on this platform. Peace.

    After a broadcast EM and LD career of many years and often being confronted with console ops asking me to fiddle with the desk in some way or other, and frankly not having a clue. This has finally lifted the veil on MA's for me. It's just a shame I recently retired. Ho-hum.

    Thanks so much for your video. I am a total idiot at this. I have no MA experience except pushing and pulling faders to a already programed setup at our church. Our Tech Director has left and a huge fire hose of information has been put on me along with new responsibilities. At least by watching this video I understand a little more to get started. Thanks! I will watch more!

    Hey Christian, I rly like this new format! Plz make more videos like this. I am doing lighting engineering for a long time as my hobby and I am using GrandMA2 for a while now but it helps very much to get Tips for the Software from professional (every Day) users. I still haven't learned every function and there are still things I don't know about.
    --> Thanks and plz keep doing this ;-)

I changed the class to conventional, which I read about, but still no beams. Any suggestions here? If it helps, I am running version 3.5.0.6 for both MA2 and MA 3D currently and would like to continue with this version for a little while until I get the hang of everything.

    Could you do a video on how you set up your console for a live show, for lets say a couple of DJ's that are gonna play all night were you might not want tons? Do you just save a lot of effects on the executor buttons, and use positions/color/gobo etc. straight out of the programmer on the fly without storing anything?

      Have you made sure that your networking and session options in MA2 onPC and MA 3D match up?

    • @McGeeeeesees
      @McGeeeeesees 6 років тому +4

      I ran into the same issue. I seem to have sorted it out but not sure if correctly. This is just for testing at home where you're not going through a network (loopback) but would work similarly as long as you setup the same on both GrandMA2 and MA 3D.
      So this is starting from the screen where on the video you see the session, which in my case didn't exist yet.
      1) Click on your PC in the right "Stations" panel.
      2) Click "Station IP" and choose "127.0.0.1"
      3) Close the "Setup" window then close GrandMA2 onPC
      4) Open GrandMA2 onPC
      5) Click "Setup" and then click "MA Network Control"
      6) Click "Create Session"
      7) Click the "X"
      8) Click "MA Network Configuration"
      9) Open MA 3D
      10) Click File > Settings > Network
      11) Click "127.0.0.1" then click "OK"
      12) Close MA 3D and then re-open MA 3D
      You should see the session in the "Sessions" tab (but not join button)
      13) In onPC (still in the "MA Network Configuration" screen from earlier) click "Add Present"
      14) In the new entry in this window, right-click the grey box in the "User" column and then click "Administrator 1"
      15) Click the grey "Session Member" box then press "Y" (so it changes to "Yes")
      The two should now be connected. I found that my lights were upside down under the stage though, but you should now see your Vipers in the "3D Objects" list of the "Assets" tab in MA 3D.
      I hope that's right but works for me so far.

    • @IliasJoels
      @IliasJoels 6 років тому +1

      In the MA Network Configuration there are different tabs: Console, OnPC, NPU, 3D, ...
      If you click on "Add Present" in the console or OnPC tab, nothing happens as there is automatically a new entry. After right clicking "new" on each tab, none of them have an "User" column. So i'm stuck.
      Edit: At 13) In onPC (Still in the "MA Network Configuration" screen from earlier) click on the tab named 3D, there you'll see the "User" column and the "Session Member" column.
