  • This video provides an overview of implementing corrective measures when making low resistance measurement using the Keithley DMM6500 6.5 Digit Multimeter. We review the following:
Typical resistance measurement use case - the 2-wire method.
Demonstrate the benefits of using the 4-wire method to measure low resistance values using the DMM6500 to test milliohm devices and get microohm resolution.
Details on how to optimize your measurements using the 4-wire method.
Demonstrate the pitfalls of using the 2-wire method with low resistances value with the DMM6500.
Details of why the 2-wire method is not optimal for low resistance values.

Thank you so much and a Very informatic demo. indeed, I need to test the conductivity or the resistance of semiconductive material. and I knew the Keithley 2400 or higher or any SMU is the proper instrument. but I wonder if I had both the 2220G power supply and the DMM 6500 could they work like SMU or not?

Explaining how 4W resistance measurement works to people interested in $1000 multimeter looks funny :D

can you change the testing current? Or use some other current source and tell DMM what current is it?

Dear Sir, Many greetings, is this device considered a good for testing low resistance of electrical power transformers such as : 0.012 Ω etc.

What a waste. I don't think this needs much of an explanation. I have seen measurements error far worse. To say that error is because of resistance in the lead, is the least interesting of phenomenon. If one knows kirchoff, and is interested in such expensive hardware, the audience is smart enough to have figured that out.
