I recently bought the gh5, and immediately wanted to test its capabilities with my anamorphic lens, espacialy after the 2.1 firmware release.
And what a better test subject than my favourite mighty fluff ball.
Conclusion: This is my favourite setup ever and I'll shoot more videos like that from now on, that's why I started this "series". Hope you'll like it !

Nice! You pulled some great footage out of that sankor. By the way, I'm curious how you did the opening animations, specifically for the 'Anamorphic' text? It looks extremely stylish yet simple.
Really cool vid, bro! Your cat is awesome lol I was wondering; what resolution did you use in this sequence?
Looking great! Wonder if you used a slider at the beginning?
Daniel Meszaros Everything handheld
I need a cat now
Hi! I am fun your videos. Tell me please, how custom lut you use in your videos. Your colorcorection is very cool!
I love it! The small vignetting is ugly in some cases but is awesome!
Thank you ! Yeah I know it's bad...It's a common issue with vintage anamorphic scopes. I've blackened the internal lenses edges since I shot this and it's much better now. Also I'll try with a tighter focal lenght.
Hi, the video is amazing, but I also really liked the intro title, how did you animate it like that? Did you use some kind of plug in? Or could you maybe point me to a tutorial that teaches something similar? Thanks in advance :)
Gorgeous shots man! Lovely cat! So you are doing the dual focusing thing? Not too complicated? Maybe you focus one time and then search the focus by getting closer or farther?
Yeah that's what I do most of the time
Superb footage. What is the data record rate for this exact technical setup?
Or in another word, what is the memory card suitable for this setup?
I'm using a sandisk extreme pro 64Go rated 95MB/s. It is fine for anything else than the 400Mb/s modes on the gh5
Very nice! Did you shoot this in v-log?
Nm saw your description lol
Hi, great footage, Thanks. I followed your set up but am getting distortion / warping. I could only afford the speedbooster t smart adapter and not the xl .64X, would this be the problem? Cheers
What do you mean by distortion ?
Sorry I mean cheap looking warped / stretched effect
James Marshall if the only difference is the speedbooster, it should just look like a longer focal lenght. Can you send me a screenshot so I can see what you are talking about ?
Nicolas Gaillard not sure how to do that on replies? It might be your post treatment of the footage that makes it look more professional? I think my settings are correct, I don't have a diopser but am looking to pick one up. Can you offer any advice please on how you shot and any post work that might help thanks
I'm not doing anything special in post, just color grading and basic editing. You can use my email to send me a picture
Can you share me this footage ?
What lens did you use?
hello what lenses were you using?
Everything in the description ;)
I kept scrolling up so I can see the rest XD --- Silly me
Did you crop the image to 2.66:1?
Yes, the original image is way too wide. I don't know the ratio, I just zoomed until I got acceptable vignetting, 130% in this case.
Do you have to focus both lenses?
Yes
Nicolas Gaillard Thank you for your reply! The editing and the compositions are incredible. I am truly amazed by your work.
