- There has been one figure of stability in the last 14 years of political turmoil in the UK -- Larry, the Downing Street cat and Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office. The ageing tabby could be in line for his sixth prime minister after the UK votes in a general election on July 4, with opinion polls suggesting that he will oversee his first from the Labour Party.

Larry has been appointed CMM (Chief Minister for Mousing). He is working on his MMP ( Major Mousing Policy) trying to decide if a catch and release policy on mouse immigration would be a good thing… anyway he’s sleeping on it.
Here in the USA, we've had several animals (cats, dogs, etc.) assume the role of mayor or other elected official in smaller towns. Apparently, one incident included a goat beating out a human candidate...🤣
