Okay, I've heard your feedback.
I'm making the camera MUCH smaller but in the same spot. Moving it higher or to the right side will cover the HUD, and moving it down will cover boss health.
The smaller camera should be a major improvement, you'll see next episode.

I'm late to the party (found you through a "best of"-compilation), but can I just say how refreshing it is to see someone actually grasping new mechanics as they appear, testing them out, reading item descriptions and being invested in the lore/atmosphere?
Like, I usually don't watch unedited facecam LPs because they can get boring fast, but there's something about you that makes it fun to watch as you discover more things in the world and slowly learn your way around.
I'm subscribing. :)
watching bricky play games is not nearly as infuriating as watching other people play games because he can actually put two and two together and actually explores and finds things others wouldn't bother looking for, so good jod bricky your content is very entertaining
Being a bloodborne veteran it’s actually really nice to watch a first time player
It’s nostalgic looking at a new player and seeing yourself when you were once a new player
Okay, important tips. First, the dodge thing you mentioned is nonsense, I-frames are still a thing.
Second, when fighting enemies try to dodge through their attacks, or to the sides. A lot of enemies and bosses will move forward during their attacks, so you can't dodge backwards and reliably avoid follow up attacks.
Third, practice parrying, you can do it to most of the smaller bosses and it makes life SO much easier.
Fourth, be aggressive. This is not a game that's kind to people who got complacent with Dark Soulsian hide-behind-a-shield-and-wait-to-poke methods.
Fifth, if you ever get invaded? Remember you can parry the other player's healing animation. it's tricky and takes prediction, but it can secure a kill.
Lastly, and most importantly, have fun :D
I started this game almost exactly a year ago and I'm still at the Nightmare Frontier cuz I'm too much of a pussy to go through that bullshit level with other people trying to invade me cuz I'm still not quite a pro at the game yet. :(((((

Seeing that you're playing my favorite game of all time, right alongside League of Legends. Here's some tips I'll give for the first area. I'll try to keep these as spoiler free.
1. You don't take any extra damage if hit while dodging. In fact you still have the i-frames so dodge as often as you'll spam bloodvials.
2. Learn to parry, I'm not sure, but I've found parrying so much easier in Bloodborne, and it'll help you with so many bosses.
3. Go back to the room where you woke up, you'll find one of the doors closed, you can talk to the person who closed the door and they'll give a enhanced blood vial that heals for a shit ton. You can only hold one at a time, however once you use it you can go back for another one. However, once you reach the next area she'll stop giving you those enhanced blood vials.
4. Find the Music Box, it'll help with the first actual boss.
5. The saw cleaver when transformed is still a one handed weapon, some trick weapons when transformed become two handed, not allowing you to use your gun.
6. Find Eileen the Crow before you get to the next area, once you go to the next area she'll disappear permanantly.
7. The Doll and Lady Maria are effectively the same person, so they can both be best girl.
8. Once you kill the first required boss go back to Gilbert, he'll give you a free gun.
9. Technically you are still dreaming. I won't tell you anything more.
10. There is an optional boss in the first area, while it is of course optional, it does help to beat it as it'll make it easier to get to another area.
11. Play aggressive you'll find the game more fun. While there are shields in the game, the only purpose the shield has it to remind you that shields are garbage in this game.
12. The gemstone you got from the giant guy with the axe, later on you get a tool to infuse your weapons with blood gemstones. You can farm the axe guy for good early game gemstones.
13. If you hit an enemies corpse right after they've died, you can still gain back some health that you might've lost. It is only for a very short time, so spam away.
14. Fist the boar.
15. Don't bother to upgrade your gun, really doesn't do much.
16. You can chain the oil urn and Molotov cocktail for bonus damage.
17. Once you get a single insight something about the Hunter's Dream will change which will allow you to level up. You get insight for finding a boss, defeating a boss, or consuming a madman's knowledge.
And that's all, hope you have fun playing BloodBorne!
Good tips
Late i know but your first tip is half incorrect cause if you don't dodge properly you get damaged 2x as much as normal. So something that leaves you at 30 health if you tanked it, would one shot you if you dodged wrong and got hit.
Reference being Ludwig's jump attack.
I always love how the townsfolk of Yharnam can tell you a bit of the lore if you pay attention. "It's all your fault!" "Cursed beast!" "Begone!" "Away! Away!" "You are cursed..." "Help me, oh god!" "Beast! A foul beast!" "You fiend!" "You are not wanted here!" "You plague-ridden rat!" "I'll mess up your brain!" "You're better off dead!" "This town is finished..."

Hi Bricky, super excited for this lets play! Bloodborne is probably my favorite game of all times because of the gothic horror feel it has. Just something about the lore I cant stop myself to tell you: Some time ago there was a plague in Yharnam and so the Healing Church was build to find a way to cure the plague They decided that using blood was a good idea so they redistributed mysterious blood in the city, but after a while people started turning into beasts (mostly werevolves), so the Hunters were send to take care of them. Thats pretty much the information I can give without spoilers. Hope you enjoy the game and good hunting!
So excited to see you play this. And now that you have a PS4, I HIGHLY suggest looking at the game Nioh when it comes out in February. It is a game that has a very similar style to the souls games and I think you'll love it. Just a heads up if you didn't know about it.

Pass it on to the next person if they die take a drink so on so forth BUT if you beat a boss you all have to take a shot of what ever you have! Have fun with that ;) )
I`m so hyped for this playthrough, oh boy. And Bricky the lore for this game is kinda complicated; I suggest watching a vid from Vaati on the whole Bloodborne lore after you finished the run. (Btw. you missed the first message/lore hint ;) )

After three years, this has been some of the most swift Bloodborne gameplay, at least for a BB starter, after all it is much more aggressive than Dark Souls.
Most important thing about this game is if you use the bow gesture in front of the doll, she bows back. MIND BLOWING GAME PLAY.
Just letting you know that there was a near identical armour set you could have found in terms of stats and appearance if you continued exploring the area you went to when you were initially scared off by the werewolves. Of course there was no way for you to know that, but I still feel a little bad for you when you could have spent the bloodechoes on something else. Also I'm loving some of your reactions to this game so far, Bloodborne truly is a different beast compared the the Dark Souls series. No pun intended.

Walamonga 1313 you can turn off notifications in options for consoles, most content creators do so
It's nice to see him listening and catching on to things like how he connected the healing blood with the contract and ministration and reasoning why his character might have went there or when the villagers called him a beast. Annoying he missed the note at the start, though. "Seek Paleblood and transcend the hunt" is kind of all you have to go on at the start.
I mean this in the best way possible, but I save these playthrough for before I go to bed. I'm not sure why but it always makes it easier to go to sleep.

Ah Yharnam, land of disappointed pirates who came in thinking it was an awesome pirate town.
the yharnamites you see around the place were recruited by the cathedral ward as I'd like to say, test subjects for the new blood they had. because of this, they began turning into Lycanthrope and other such monstrosities, hence why they are so hairy.

Bricky, search EVERYWHERE. You will want to try all the weapons, and either finding them or finding what allows you to buy them is key. Trick weapons are so awesome in bloodborne!
