  • In this video I give a short run down of my experience with the Primary Arms SLX RS-10 over the past year. There's a lot of things I like about it, and I tend to like Primary Arms in general, but it wasn't without it's problems.

    Nice review. This unit is similar to the AmeriGlo I run on joy Dagger but is RMR. I had to replace the battery before last range day which was premature and a downer.

    Love PA line up! I have several of their optics and was looking at this one. I think I just got sold. Great video…. Just sub’d.

    Trying to choose between the Primary Arms SLX and the Burris Fastfire 3. I prefer the SLX as it has the shake awake feature, however I've seen lots of reviews that complain about the refresher rate. I would like your opinion as you have made a nice review of the optic!

    Did you reach out to them regarding the buttons? Seems like a warranty issue and I’d be interested to know how they handled it.

      That is a fantastic question. Yes, I did, and they took care of it under the warranty. I sent it in, and they sent me a new one.

    Have you noticed the red dot flickering due to low refresh rate?

      I have not. The refresh rate seems to be really solid on this dot. It doesn't have that terrible look and feel of a dot with a shitty refresh rate. TLDR: Refresh rate is good to go.

    Got a gen 3 19 with this optic on using a dovetail mount for about a year ,was thinking of direct milling it onto my g19 although now im stsrting to think maybe a optics ready canik or some such might be a better idea than getting stuck with a footprint that is not super common

    I bought a blem version for $130. The autolive “shake awake” did not work out of the box. The “doctor” footprint is out of spec. I returned the red dot back for a replacement because I wanted to give it another try. They didnt have any in stock and received a full refund. I ended up buying the holosun 407c instead. Looking forward to their new RS-15 though.

      I need to do a follow up video. I sent mine in because of the troubles I mentioned in the video, and they did send me a replacement. Full disclosure, it probably mounts up well because of the strike industries lite slide it's mounting to, which has THE BEST mounting solution on a pistol slide I have ever seen, and is so flexible it will fit up with anything, and be rock solid.
      Their customer service was hella good though, and I appreciate that.

    How do you like that one compared to the Holosun 507c?

    • @TheBrigandBob
      @TheBrigandBob  Рік тому +2

      I'd honestly rather have a 507c. With the SLX RS-10 being 199.99 and the HS 507c being 319.99, the extra 120 would be worth it to have a 507c. That said, this is a good optic, especially if you're not beating the crap out of your gear l ike I do. I have tens of thousands of dry fire reps on this thing, which means countless holster draws and reloads, and I carry EVERYWHERE unless I'm legally compelled to disarm (schools, federal buildings, court, so on). Everywhere else, it's always on me, so it's entirely likely most people won't encounter the problems I did, but I did encounter them. Fortunately Primary Arms has a lifetime warranty, so I'm going to reach out to them and let them know about the issues and will probably get a replacement optic, which is fine by me.
