Ive been watching you for almost 3 years! I finally got my Shopify POD business up and running. I havent done ad's yet and will start this week. Most of what ive learned has been from your videos. Thanks fingers crossed, wish me success!
Hi Joe, thank you for your content overall. And this video. I am studying social media marketing, and as far as I know: there seems to be 3 ways to go about it: completely with ads and pixel (the smart algorithm that helps your reach more and more of your audience as it learns about it), the free way: with cool insta reels, offering free content on a interest group profile/page, and building an audience, through various organic methods….. Or a hybrid of both. Did I sum up things correctly? And if so: which one of these ways ways is the most cost effective? Taking into account that time is also a cost. Not just money spent. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you Joe! After months of had work i made my first sale this week. Now i want to promote my website and make sure i get more sales. I will surely try this method to see if it works or not. Thank You very much!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this, Joe! It's extremely helpful. Can you please share how one can measure the engagement rate? and in the Sales campaign, do you also duplicate the respective audience of the winning ad?
thanks joe for the great video, would love to get a reply, so how long should we do the engagment campaigns for ? is 1 week enough ? and lets say after 1 week we get good engagments should we turn it off and switch completely to sales campaigns, or should we keep them both running thanks again!!!
Thanks for the info Joe. I love the idea of gauging how the product resonates with people by using an inexpensive engagement campaign first. Going to give this a try for sure. Btw, I love the shirt. Where'd you get it?
Thank you!! That is great advice 💪Just one question. Do we need to try a different audience once an engagement campaign wasn‘t succesful or should we start the same campaign with a different product? 🤔
Do you like to do advantage+ placements or just place your ads on Instagram? Also, do you recommend using dynamic creatives or just run one ad set one ad?
I don't see how to choose Engagement or something that says Create Ad Campaign. I clicked on dots in top right of my FB page, under Create I clicked Ad. How do I get to "Engagement?"
Very helpful video! Really appreciate your work man!!! What would you advise to do for a product based store, in my case metal art store? With this kind of store I have 3 to 4 niches and I am not sure what niche to target with ads. Much appreciated man!
I appreciate you answering! Just for clarification on my part. So that means I would have to make a PPE campaign for each niche individually? I don't know if I missed oned of your videos or something.@@RealJoeRobert
I have tried this in the past, but never had any luck. I wanna try this technique all the way. There are however a few things that is not mentioned in the video. Under ad set level - What Conversion location should one use? Website I guess? Performance goals? Maximize number of conversions? Conversion Event? View content? Placement Controls? Everything one can check? Under ad level - Call to action? Learn more or shop now? If anybody know the answer, especially @RealJoeRobert I would be super grateful :) Thanks for great content and I will see you tonight on the live training! Cheers
If you're campaign objective is "sales" then you want to maximize number of conversions. You want the location to be your website, unless you are ballin' and have your own app. For conversion event, I think you need to have this set up beforehand. For example, I have "add to cart" and "checkout" as conversion event options. Placement controls can be a tricky one. Some people recommend letting FB AI place your ads anywhere you think it'll convert. Others say stick to the feeds, reels and stories. It seems to me this would be a "test for yourself" thing. As for the call-to-action, I personally use "shop now" as I don't want people clicking my ad who aren't clear that this is something to buy. Hope this helps. All the best to you.
Hi Joe thought I’d hit the required numbers with a $1 dollar Ad went to set up a sales Ad for five days said I would get ZERO conversions any advice thanks
iOS was like 3 years ago. I am running interest targeting ads right now. Broad I’ve done as well. Try both - success comes from a winning product not whether you’ve got a magic approach to interests or broad targeting
Great video, Joe ! Thank you. I do have a challenge. I have a podcast for the LGBTQ market that did well in ads, but at the time they offered a long list of popular LGBTQ magazines, tv show, celebrities, etc. You could laser focus on your target audience. I forget the reasoning, but FB took all that away from niches such as queer markets. There are a few things here and there to help, but not much. No more queer specific magazines, for example. My ads instantly became worthless, and I stopped. Now that I've launched a Shopify store for the same market, I'm finding the same frustration. Any ideas how to get past this? Advertising broadly is not helpful
I'd recommend trying an ad campaign with open targeting and turn on FB's AI features that go out and find the right people for you. I would think ads like this would be hard to get approved but if your ads have been approved in the past I'd leave it to the all-knowing AI to find your audience. Here's why this could be helpful ... I am not directly involved in the LGBTQ community as I am heterosexual BUT I have a transgender child. As such, I have read articles from FB and would be a candidate for an ad. FB AI can find people like me and show your ads. Hope it helps. All the best to you.
@@imcurtispenner Thank you, Curtis. FB has no issue with LGBTQ merchandise. I run ads and many others do too. You can also find merchandise geared toward political persuasions and ethnic groups. What they've done is eliminated the ability to target those. You can hope to find interests that may be more popular with a specific segment but that's obviously not a perfect science. Plus, they've hindered that too by getting rid of interests which are too obvious. For example, you won't find interests such as Black Entertainment Network, gay magazines or even the popular Queer Eye. Nor will you find popular magazines that lean far left or far right. FB will shudder at anything too risqué, which I don't have and if I ever do, I wouldn't attempt to promote on general social media. But trying their AI feature is a good idea that's worth a try.
@joe when I start a sales campaign, and it has been running 2 days and it got 100 clicks and no sales. How many days do i need continue running these ads? Or with 100 clicks I would have gotten any sale? If they have spent almost 10usd some of them? I'll be waiting for your answer. Thanks!
@@RealJoeRobert do you mean that something is off in my website, right? Because I can get traffic from my ads, and according to the metrics I analyze the ones you have recommended, they work but once people get to my website the purchase doesn't happen. And I could verify some of them spend a couple of seconds in my website so I think that shows the problem is there and they aren't having a good experience in my website. What's your opinion? Thanks Joe!

Are u running ads now ?
@gcool5876 I only ran some initial test ads. I had some traffic mo sales. Hoping to set up a campaign today or tomorrow
Update?
@Og.quizzes I had to close my website. I'm currently selling on Etsy. I've made 1 sale unfortunately. So surprised but it is what it is.

I’ve never heard anyone say use engagement campaigns first. That’s GENIUS! Because you’re right. How else will we know people actually want the product
Thanks for watching and good luck!

can you please make a video with the update META business UI? it no longer gives you those options the way you mentioned. thanks
This video is less than 3 months old. There’s no change in Facebook that would prevent you from doing what I’m doing
If a certain age group of an audience I have tested has over 20% engagement rate, should I try running a conversion campaign for that age group?
Assuming $5 conversion campaign is working, how much to scale further??? $10 ??
Hi Joe thought I’d hit the required numbers with a $1 dollar Ad went to set up a sales Ad for five days said I would get ZERO conversions any advice thanks
Hi Joe, is interest targeting working for you post IOS 14 update?
iOS was like 3 years ago. I am running interest targeting ads right now. Broad I’ve done as well. Try both - success comes from a winning product not whether you’ve got a magic approach to interests or broad targeting
@@RealJoeRobert thanks Joe. Do you suggest running manual campaigns only or do you also run advantage+ audience campaigns as well?
Opinion on broad vs target based interests?
Both work. I’d start with interest targeting though
