Youre taking a poor translation of what he said and reading things into it.
Ive been doing translation professonally for 40 years. What Sasaki said was a commonly used idiomatic expression which I would simply translate as:
"The Dodgers front office really made me feel welcome".
"Stability" is one possible translation of 安定感, but in this context it is totaly misleading. Here, all it means is that he "felt at ease" or "felt comfortable" when dealing with the front office.

Its not difficult. I always wanted to go to Bali on vacation. I decided I was going there. Someone suggested some other places.
I was reasonably sure I'd stay with my original choice of Bali but I dilligently and sincerely looked at all the places suggested and, had one of them really knocked my socks off, I'd possibly have reconsidered.
So, I checked them all out and decided my original feeling was the way to go. The Dodgers were always Rokis Bali. Didnt matter how great Jamaica, Brazil, Hawaii all looked. His heart was Bali's to lose.

Roki didnt want to be the automatic Ace of any team. A 23 yr old doesn’t want that and thats exactly what the Padres were gonna do! Dodgers are slowly going to mold him in with a 6 man rotation! Cmon guys all the reasons up and down Dodgers all day! All the players that have rehab in LA and were re worked to become superstars. Tyler Glasnow, Kopech, Vesia, Phillips, Teoscar, Rojas etc Dodgers have a great coaching team to bring out the best.

AJ has only ever got a team to the postseason 3 times. The Padres are clearly cutting payroll the past few seasons. They have 3 SP in the rotation. Their lineup from 6-9 is an automatic out. You have no depth. You gave 2 terrible contracts that will age very poorly. This as it stands is a 75 win team. They’ve been good at finding BP arms so that might keep them from completely tanking but we all knew Yu Darvish alone wasn’t enough to bring in Roki.

If Sasaki was going to sign for peanuts compared to what he might get when he's 26, he'd go for an organization who'll try not to let pitch extra to compete. He'd like to have a chance to be healthy when he's a FA. Simple

  • @gxwbc

If it was a tight decision for Roki, then the little things matter. Unfortunately I think the lawsuit and future outlook of the team operations was enough for him to pass on the Padres.

You guys were wrong about Merrill last year. I was right. I knew he could hit by looking at him. So let me tell you what will happen: Tirso will hit 245 with 13 homeruns. He will be helpful by providing an upgrade in speed and good defense but offensively he will not blow our socks off.. but he’ll be decent. As far as Padres as a whole… they just have to play as a team. Play together as a team, sounds cliche but it’s the truth. A team that plays as one can beat a bunch of individuals any day.

Hey guys, I'm a Dodgers fan, but also a baseball fan in general. I grew up loving this sport. I understand that we are the "evil" empire now. Do you think the Padres got in over their head with some of the contracts they made with Bogaerts, Darvish and Tatis Jr? Will they trade Bogaerts? also what happens to Cease and Arraez. Keep up the awesome work guys

    • @mattamatic1
      @mattamatic1 6 днів тому +1

I completely agree with you. I think the “stability” he’s referring to is that the dodgers invest more than any other team into development and training. Dodgers also have a top 10 farm system. Dodgers have been to the post season for the past 12 years in a row. Dodgers also reportedly have a very healthy clubhouse atmosphere and Dave Roberts as the ultimate “father figure” to help guys through the ups and downs of a season.
Padres, on the other hand, were so desperate to be like the dodgers that they tried to run before learning to walk. They traded the FARM for guys like Soto, arraez, cease, Scott. They held a pseudo championship rally before the 2023 season… and missed the post season. They took out loans to make payday late in the 23 season. They also are saddled with MASSIVE long term contracts to guys like machado, boegarts and tatis.
And for people that claim “then why did the padres make the finalists?” Truth be told… probably because Sasaki loves Southern California, deeply respects darvish, and SD is an amazing city to live in.

The Red Sox, Padres, Mets, this generation yankees, have money but your organization is B class. Dodgers are a first class grade A organization owned by an investment group, I even want them to invest my money. But think of in-house talent, Bellinger, seager, walker Buehler, list goes on, we get pitchers and make them better, like Vesia and Kopech. No comparison.

The talk show host on 97.3 The Fan just came up with a trade with
    Dylan cease going to Minnesota
    Padres receiving
    Left-handed corner outfielder Trevor Lauant
    and
    Catcher Christian Vazquez
    and
    Griffin Jax Pitcher
This is not a confirmed deal at all it's just one proposition idea that could be proposed to Minnesota??
    What do you guys think...??
re: more control for the next 3 years for these guys instead of losing Dylan cease after 1 year
And who knows if Minnesota is going to accept the proposal

no one has made the proposal to Minnesota to begin with but maybe this could be passed on to AJ preller to consider the deal ??
