I grew up in Texas and lived there for 40 years. It pains me to see Texas having to deal with this. The Department of Homeland Security officials with the Border Patrol apprehended more than 7,500 migrants on a Sunday. That's 7,500 in one day, that were caught. I don't want to hear any crying about 10,000 migrants a month, especially from a prideful sanctuary city, NYC. Agreed. Deal with it. And don't be bussing them to other areas. They need to keep all these migrants that they wanted so much. Gov Abbot, send more! For the people who voted for this kind of crap, don't be moving to red states. Deal with it. They made their bed. Now lay in it.

I think this week that Karine Jean-Pierre was talking about President Biden's strong economy and how well everything was going in the nation. Not sure why Mayor Adams isn't thrilled with the new arrivals? This isn't a federal issue, and no federal funding should be sent to NYC. The borders are open. Just make sure that they are all sent to sanctuary NYC. Adams made the plan and needs to keep his promise to the world!

I live in South Texas. I'm Hispanic. My grandparents didn't break into this country they waited their turn and became legal citizens of this country. That's all people want. People in this country are not against immigration they are against Illegal immigration. I'm glad that other parts of this great country now understand what Texas and other border states have been dealing with for decades with no help from the Federal Government. I come from another country in the world that has encountered a similar situation. Mass-immigration combined with class segregation and culture-clashing; chaos ensued.
People often misconstrue it as a problem with immigration entirely, or as a problem with other cultures. The reality is not so simple. Immigration is a healthy part of any country, but integration is crucial to it, and it does have its limits. There needs to be enough time and opportunity for clashing cultures to settle, creating a 'melting pot' of cultures. My country did not succeed in providing that, and mass-immigration policies put its capacity to the test.
By building tons of affordable housing projects over cheap farmland, away from the city, my country has virtually displaced anyone who is lower class from the rest of society. People who leave their countries in search of a better life are often lower class, so, mixed with large amounts of immigration, it essentially segregates cultures too. This leads to societal problems over time.
The natural solution? Build more housing (with as little segregation as possible). Mix affordable/lower-class housing in with other classes. Adjust policies to ensure immigrants are let in at a healthy pace, according to capacity. This is not easy.
Congratulations NYC!! Now you know what Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas have been dealing with for YEARS!

I empathize with the people in Ukraine, but we have already sent approximately $76 billion. When you compare that to the issues faced by places like Hawaii, East Palestine, New York City, and more. American citizens are struggling with homelessness, a housing shortage, high grocery prices, schools falling behind, and crumbling infrastructure. It raises questions about our priorities. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue; it's about all the people in charge who just don't care because it doesn't affect them.
