My exact sentiments'. She already lost custody of her son living in her car 🚗 why not be grateful and allow the process to take its course!! . If she can do better by herself then she won't need this help in a very well ran shelter🤔!
Don't forget to thank the staff serving you that delicious food in the cafeteria that's an awesome place to be. I'm sure many people would wish to be in that shelter it looks very nice. Just show a little more gratitude because many people have it way worse. Like living in a hotel
Been there done that, even being a veteran and was married to a veteran we got NO help from anyone who actually should have, we were treated like trash for years and it took us separating and so much hell for me to get a few steps above homeless. I'm disgusted with how no matter how someone becomes homeless you end up being all stereotyped in with drug addicts and alcoholic's and treated like the worst way possible.
Your son is a sweet little man. What child that age asks mom what help she needs from him? You are a good mom and should be proud of keeping your family together.
She didn't keep the family together. She sent her baby to his father's and now never sees him. To be fair, he's probably better off without her and, hopefully, has a settled, secure home
People love to judge. Shelter living is very challenging. Shes doing well by her kids & clearly loves them. Hope you find a home for you & your kids young lady❤

I had to rewatch this to make sure I was hearing all of this right. If I should ever be down on my luck and need to get into a shelter, I sure hope it is as clean and beautiful as that one is. So many people waiting for help would take your place in a second!

@@Drchamomile yes I am and was an amazing mother..I homeschooled my son and He has a PhD now in physics ...and he never did drugs, alcohol , or any other bad thing....He is married now for 9 years they were both virgins when they got married and they have managed NOT to have children in 9 years of marriage....so not sure why people keep having kids who can't support them.......she is a HORRIBLE mother for many reasons.....I hope she can turn it around ...but her attitude is so bad., that will have to change in order for her to succeed.....

If you are staying with someone while trying to find work. 1. You better be up before anyone in the house. Not sleeping all day. 2. clean up WHATEVER IS OUT OF PLACE OR TRASH THAT NEEDS TAKEN OUT WITHOUT BEING ASKED.
I have a feeling we aren’t getting the full story here, something doesn’t seem right. I do feel empathy for her and her situation, especially towards her children but she does seem irresponsible. Her little boy is definitely in the right place with his father for the time being.

Don't know what exactly happened with her mom and sister but from what she said she wasn't pulling her weight even if she wasn't working she should try and keep the house clean and her kids in check. And the way she was complaining about the shelter rules and the food she sounded kinda ungrateful.

It sounds like Jackie and her sister got into an argument because Jackie wasn’t working, but the house was messy. And it sounds like maybe her sister was working, and expected Jackie to clean and take care of the house. But Jackie’s youngest son looks really young, and it makes me wonder if she was experiencing depression and just overwhelmed. It sounds like the argument was really explosive and got out of hand.
I have problem with people who complain about the rules at the shelter, those rules are there for a reason. Yes it is hard living there. Can you envision the level of chaos that would have ensued in the absence of rules?

Jackie is awesome. She reminds me of myself when I was homeless in San Diego with my baby girl. I have many sisters but not one would help me until I could finish college or get a job. Either way, I would have money coming in. I did it on my own. I admire her for her strength and resilience.

She messed up by having children outside of a marriage or at least committed relationship. It’s just not a stable family unit without two parents. I’m not being mean and she’s not being too hard on herself by admitting she’s made some serious mistakes and is going to have to work twice as hard to create a stable situation now.
I feel for her, we fall on hard times sometimes. However I also see the sisters side, I would never allow an adult to stay with me & not do their part. Family or not, you need to contribute in some way. I do hope she gets back on her feet though. At least the youngest is with his dad for now.

She has some deeply suppressed emotional issue that is behind her situation. Since she doesn't seem to be an addict of any kind, it is harder to diagnose. She lacks the logic to admit that having small children while homeless is completely irrational.
There's more to the story than a argument. They probably talked to her multiple times about issues around the home and she could not cRe less until they put her out.

If you "love your kids" you get your life in order first before even having kids. Seems like she's been an irresponsible person her entire life and is only living in the homeless shelter because her sister kicked her out of the apartment that she (her sister) was paying for while according to her own words she wasn't working. Why wasn't she working and she has children? Only sympathy here goes to the children who are thrust into a situation they have no control over

Things are rough for her and her family no doubt. She is a strong woman to be able to handle it all. Even with the occasional break down she moves on. She really is SUPER MOM! I respect her. I’m sorry but I don’t believe we are getting the entire story with this woman. She seems to be delusional if she thinks there is something wrong with the father not wanting her to see her child. He’s the one with full custody and a stable environment. She also seems to have an attitude if she’s not able to live peacefully with her own family. She also needs to leave her own kids out of her adult situations. Seeing her treat her daughter as her own therapist is frustrating, and she will be bitter about this when she gets older. I should know, since both of my parents treated me the same way when I was younger.

She DOESNT HAVE CUSTODY, and THANK GOD, she only wants to bring chaos and destruction into that kids world, and the way she puts all that emotional burden onto her kids is DISGUSTING. One thing i noticed is her arrogance, all 3 in your doc look well fed, no money for essentials ,but plenty for cigarettes , a cell phone and funky hair dye , give me a real "not my fault hardship story" no one should be homeless for sure, but this is a typical homeless story.
I'm sure no one wants to be in a shelter as I know I wouldn't want to be. Regarding the accommodation I think it looks lovely, spotless, safe and they are together, obviously after a while it would get in on you. Wish you all the best, seems like a good mother, God bless x

Why did she think that she could sit on her arse with 3 kids, keep a messy apartment while her sister worked and paid all the bills. Where's the dads. Oldest 2 have her nose. Youngest looks completely different. She should not complain about the nice clean place they've given her to stay.
She seems lazy. The shelter room was messy, so I can only imagine the state of the house she was sharing with her mother and sister, after a long day at work nobody wants to come home to find somebody else’s mess.

It's easy to judge when you have never been in that situation. Her situation is hers and no matter how she got there she is trying. I have been in her shoes so I understand if it doesn't break you it makes you a stronger person. I'm 68 years old and all that unhappiness has long been gone but I understand and feel when people go through things in life. Life sometimes doesn't work out like you want. Praying for her and anyone going through this in life.

My kids were never allowed to be picky eaters, but if there was something they really couldn’t stand we’d at least have them try it. When I was staying in shelters it was very much like the one they showed here.

This mother of three is broke but she managed to spend money on cigarettes a carton of cigarettes is over $100. That money would go a long way towards buying things for her children
“Children of alcoholics” are NOT destined to be parents. Sorry for the bluntness of my statement but I’ve seen this happen to too many people I’ve known. Unfortunately those that are DESERVING of being parents usually can’t have children or struggle having them. In saying this I wish her well and that her children find a better life for themselves!
I work for a state agency that help homeless. I know I don’t know what they have gone though, but I irritates me each time they complain about the food, the bed, they complain how little the gov. Gave them money for food, etc and make this an excuse not to stay in shelter but out of the street then harried the Government to give them free housing or apartment rental. Then some also request car or transportation allowance, or bills payment because they are behind months of rent of apt, electric or water.. jeezzzz
Jackie, I’m praying for you. Living with your mom and your sister is not really a sustainable situation. This will make you stronger even though it seems hard now as you get better and stronger you become more capable of improving your situation. You are doing the right thing.Good luck kid.
Please help your children to under that this place is safe, and they are not sleeping on the streets. There are a lot of kids who are less fortunate and your kids don’t appear to know the sense of value. The food is free and they are receiving a hot meal. You need to stay focused and remember to be responsible so that they will be responsible so that when you get a new place you can keep it clean; which is what got you in this situation from what it sounds like. Not being stable is not a good thing. Please try to get it together for the baby whom is being cared for by his father. The father could take him away as he feels that you are not a fit parent. Okay so she had a roof over there heads and she didn’t find anything ya wright she was not trying to find a job when you want something bad enough there’s nothing going to stop you but she waited for her family to reach the Breaking point then instead of going out to find a job she just left now three adult people living underneath one roof and she made the decision to leave instead of trying to communicate with her family I’m just saying that we’re only hearing her side of the story I feel like something is missing

As a kid we lived in shelters, I didn’t like it, I was picked up in the bus and taken to school, I was in middle school. We had one room for everyone, and the women would rotate to cook meals. We received counseling, I remember sitting in a table and talking to a counselor. We had curfew, all families had to be in their room by a certain time. It was hard and we were grateful for the help. As a child you just go with the flow.
I know living in a shelter may not be the best but she should be telling her kids to be grateful that they get to live there. A lot of people in her situation end up sleeping on the street. I wish the best for her.
Mama has her kids with her, I respect her 💕 it’s so easy to check out and abandon our roles…. It’s hard! But blessed are those who persevere and keep Jesus first in their lives 🙌🏾 we are all fighting the same fight, but we will make it through. I love you girl, God bless you and your family 💕🙏🏾.

The nicest shelter I've ever seen especially with kidss she is fortunate to have a temporary place.

I have problem with people who complain about the rules at the shelter, those rules are there for a reason. Yes it is hard living there. Can you envision the level of chaos that would have ensued in the absence of rules?

Jackie is awesome. She reminds me of myself when I was homeless in San Diego with my baby girl. I have many sisters but not one would help me until I could finish college or get a job. Either way, I would have money coming in. I did it on my own. I admire her for her strength and resilience.

She messed up by having children outside of a marriage or at least committed relationship. It’s just not a stable family unit without two parents. I’m not being mean and she’s not being too hard on herself by admitting she’s made some serious mistakes and is going to have to work twice as hard to create a stable situation now.

If you "love your kids" you get your life in order first before even having kids. Seems like she's been an irresponsible person her entire life and is only living in the homeless shelter because her sister kicked her out of the apartment that she (her sister) was paying for while according to her own words she wasn't working. Why wasn't she working and she has children? Only sympathy here goes to the children who are thrust into a situation they have no control over

Things are rough for her and her family no doubt. She is a strong woman to be able to handle it all. Even with the occasional break down she moves on. She really is SUPER MOM! I respect her. I’m sorry but I don’t believe we are getting the entire story with this woman. She seems to be delusional if she thinks there is something wrong with the father not wanting her to see her child. He’s the one with full custody and a stable environment. She also seems to have an attitude if she’s not able to live peacefully with her own family. She also needs to leave her own kids out of her adult situations. Seeing her treat her daughter as her own therapist is frustrating, and she will be bitter about this when she gets older. I should know, since both of my parents treated me the same way when I was younger.

Why did she think that she could sit on her arse with 3 kids, keep a messy apartment while her sister worked and paid all the bills. Where's the dads. Oldest 2 have her nose. Youngest looks completely different. She should not complain about the nice clean place they've given her to stay.
She seems lazy. The shelter room was messy, so I can only imagine the state of the house she was sharing with her mother and sister, after a long day at work nobody wants to come home to find somebody else’s mess.

My kids were never allowed to be picky eaters, but if there was something they really couldn’t stand we’d at least have them try it. When I was staying in shelters it was very much like the one they showed here.

“Children of alcoholics” are NOT destined to be parents. Sorry for the bluntness of my statement but I’ve seen this happen to too many people I’ve known. Unfortunately those that are DESERVING of being parents usually can’t have children or struggle having them.

I work for a state agency that help homeless. I know I don’t know what they have gone though, but I irritates me each time they complain about the food, the bed, they complain how little the gov. Gave them money for food, etc and make this an excuse not to stay in shelter but out of the street then harried the Government to give them free housing or apartment rental. Then some also request car or transportation allowance, or bills payment because they are behind months of rent of apt, electric or water.. jeezzzz

Please help your children to under that this place is safe, and they are not sleeping on the streets. There are a lot of kids who are less fortunate and your kids don’t appear to know the sense of value. The food is free and they are receiving a hot meal. You need to stay focused and remember to be responsible so that they will be responsible so that when you get a new place you can keep it clean; which is what got you in this situation from what it sounds like. Not being stable is not a good thing. Please try to get it together for the baby whom is being cared for by his father. The father could take him away as he feels that you are not a fit parent. Okay so she had a roof over there heads and she didn’t find anything ya wright she was not trying to find a job when you want something bad enough there’s nothing going to stop you but she waited for her family to reach the Breaking point then instead of going out to find a job she just left now three adult people living underneath one roof and she made the decision to leave instead of trying to communicate with her family I’m just saying that we’re only hearing her side of the story I feel like something is missing

As a kid we lived in shelters, I didn’t like it, I was picked up in the bus and taken to school, I was in middle school. We had one room for everyone, and the women would rotate to cook meals. We received counseling, I remember sitting in a table and talking to a counselor. We had curfew, all families had to be in their room by a certain time. It was hard and we were grateful for the help. As a child you just go with the flow.
She does a lot of whining. You can tell by the way people talk.
I know living in a shelter may not be the best but she should be telling her kids to be grateful that they get to live there. A lot of people in her situation end up sleeping on the street.
