    I know, I'm repeating myself with those videos.
    But they are truely the most clear, yet comprehensive tutorials out there.
    It's not just showing off an artists skills like "you do this and then you do that line and see, it looks great" (what many bad "teachers" do on YT),
    but really teaches the toolset in a structured way.
    That's exactly how I can learn the best.

    Great video as usual...

      It is interesting you bring cybertruck up. Cybertruck is built for efficiency in production, cost, and even aerodynamics. The plated design helps to keep the manufacturing ease down plus keeping the cost down as well. I am not 100% sure on this but I believe the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk followed a similar reason to looking so plated as well as having something to do with stealth and bouncing waves maybe, but I will have to research on that.

    how do I figure out if my wheelbase is too wide? Sometimes I only realise the incorrect width, once I start drawing the front of a car.

    Hi Jeremy! I am starting out with digital art and I aspire to be an illustrator or concept artist. I am currently studying alone and I feel lost like walking off a cliff alone. Where/what would you recommend to focus on how where why? :'D

      Hi ! I’m a beginner too, but what I’ve heard is the most effective is deconstructing things and visualizing as 3D ! Wether it was anatomy, environment or concept art . Good luck to our att journey and have a great day/night

    Even though I do enjoy this series and its main focus is providing us with exercises we can do when it comes to sketching vehicles, when you started to add detail to your sketches it seems that a lot of the the detail is loosely connected to the orginal sketch. I understand that these are just exercises, but we are aiming to create a more finished sketch and details are part of that process. I think if you put a little more emphasis of connecting your details to the sketch would have been helpful.

    • @jeremy6010
      @jeremy6010 6 років тому +4

      DuBstepAnDa98 thanks for letting me know. I know what you mean and that’s a good question/observation to make imo. A lot of it is just time constraints due to the nature of UA-cam but maybe I can elaborate on it.
      So honestly as lame as it sounds I think placement of the details is just something you have to do through repetition. I’m not really to sure what I could say on it besides practice it from life and I probably say that too much already. So if you are getting hung up there my lame suggestion is to just keep practicing it and the issues will all come out in the wash.
      Hope that helps somehow lol

    So, the only thing you need to know is just feel free to use referance lines, and demostruction. Dont try to draw from one perspective, in single shot, also draw the parts that you cant see.All you need is the ability of x-ray vision.I mean you should be able to guess the unseen parts. You must to understand the shape before you draw it. That is the point...

    is this technique something I should bother learning? cause to me looks like a very inorganic way to approach a drawing, but I mean if it fall under the fundamentals category I could make a bigger effort??

    • @ModernDayJames
      @ModernDayJames  4 роки тому +1

      This is definitely not the most organic way to draw but I do think it's valuable for learning how to perceive things in 3D. If you're interested in drawing vehicles I'd highly suggest it, but you could get away without it for characters

      @@ModernDayJames wow thank you so much for answering my question, if you think its valuable then I think I will put a little bit more dedication into it! Anyways, if it weren't these videos I never would have had the guts to draw vehicles so thank you so much for putting them out here

    Nice tutorial, but when teaching you should use accurate perspective grids because a. you are a teacher and want to encourage healthy practices for your students, b. when guesstimating, the lines look all wonky and inaccurate which makes the entire drawing look bad and crooked.
    On a side note, sketchup is a great resource for students, download any car from the 3D warehouse and you can practice drawing it from any angle.

      The key to have a good eye is to see what differs something from another. Your way of blatantly saying "not much changed" makes you look like a beginner, even if you might not be.
