    Outlaw, It was good to meet you. Funny, I have seen your videos. Like this one, I remember that the door opened from a tree branch. I never made it up there and now the water crossings are closed. Still would like to check them out. I like that you do not do music. Once I'm in the hills, I like the sounds of the vehicles and nature if Im lucky enough. Keep up the great work. Maybe I can bring my son and join you guys sometime. I don't have a jeep. If you don't mind a FJ crawling along. I met another great group of guys with the Colorado FJ club too. But always looking for good friends and fun. Can't wait for spring this year. Stay safe and keep up the fun videos. I live in Franktown, so not too far also to tag along if possible.

      Thank you so much for watching and commenting. It was great to meet you too!!
      I have no problem wheeling with anybody driving anything that wants to go off road and have fun on the trail. Spring is around the corner so there will be some more trails to run very soon! It would be a lot of fun if you were able to join me sometime. Let’s stay in touch. outlaw173@gmail.com

    Thank you for sharing this. The Gulches are my old stomping grounds and I was devastated to see them close. I'm glad that they are now open again for so many to enjoy. Thanks for the trip down one of my most favorite trails of all time.

      Thank you very much! Apparently it is illegal now to cross the rivers at the bottom of Hackett Gulch and Longwater Gulch. I was unaware of it on this run and I have not cross the river sense. There are many good people trying to get the river crossings open again. Thank you so much for watching!

    So happy that you guys didn't put music in your video. Love listening to the car do its thing when it's off roading. What kind of jeep do you have? I just got a 2012 Jeep JKU with a 2" lift and 33's. I think it's capable of doing this trail.

    • @outlaw9232
      @outlaw9232  7 років тому +1

      Hi Garrett, thank you for the comment! There is something to be said for just listening to the sound of the Jeep on the trail. I have a 2016 JKU Rubicon Hard Rock Tank Green. I'm running a Rock Krawler 2.5" Max Travel lift and Cooper STT Pros 315/70 R17 on the stock Rubi wheels. I love the lift and tires. Your JKU with that lift and 33's will do fine on that trail. The only question would be how high the water level is for the creek crossings. You should be fine except after a big down pour or something.
      I'll be running Ouray and Telluride in a week. Can't wait to go back and do Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass again.

      This looks like a lot of fun. Great vid. Something about these obstacles triggers a rush that’s the best. I’ve got to try it ASAP

      Thanks David! I just ran this trail again last weekend. We took a different trail to get out. Really tippy on some spots but well worth it. There is a hill climb just off the river that is challenging but doable. I just posted a new video on YT on that run.

      I don’t have any additional information on the Toyota. I know he was part of the group I was invited to go along with it. It was incredible build with amazing articulation, suspension travel.
      It was a lot of fun wheeling with him and the rest of the group. I am a jeep driver, but I used to own two Toyota forerunners. I love Toyotas as well.
      Thanks for watching and thanks for the comments. I really do appreciate it!!

      I really think you would like this trail Mike. It’s nice just to hang out at the bottom by the river especially when it’s hot out.

    FYI...Crossing the River is against the law...Park County side is CLOSED...Know before you go. just because there were tracks is no excuse guys. Know Before you Go!!!!!! Stay the Trail!!!!!!!

      Jason A. Parker, that would explain why I came across a closed gate when the trail went up the other side and met up with CR 211.. Had no clue the other side of the river was closed. They usually do a really good job of marking the trails and showing where you aren’t supposed to be..

    How far is this from CR, Colorado...this looks amazing. Wonder if my Tacoma TRD Pro stock can make it. Thanks for sharing your videos

      Thanks for the comment! I live in Castle Rock too. It takes about an 1 1/2 hrs to get there depending on which way you go. Go south to Colorado Springs then back up on Hwy 24 to Divide and then up to the trail head. There are 3 good trails there. Hackett Gulch, Longwater Gulch and Metberry Gulch. Your Tacoma can make it easy but the water crossings are illegal now and can get deep depending on the time of year. You can to out and back runs on the trails and still have a great time! It's worth checking out!

    Is there a bypass to the part at 11:54? Will be going alone.

    • @outlaw9232
      @outlaw9232  5 років тому

      Adam Bleech
      No, there is no bypass for “Longwater Rock”. In this video we did it when it was wet and sandy. It’s much easier when it’s dry. You can do it! I’ve gone up and down this obstacle. It gets your attention but just take it slow and you’ll do fine!!

    I was surfing on the net and come across a wrangler forum where you commented about using a midland XTC.....I also have a midland XTC which i bought several mths ago...I now have the waterproof case, 3 batteries just in case and a helmet mount.....I have a 1995 jeep wrangler and i was looking for a dash mount or a windshield mount of some sort...I have searched on amazon and what they have to offer just doesnt look like it would work. I seen the visor mount clip but in my mind the camera would be upside down.....As far as the windshield mount i was wanting to know if that would work since a jeep wrangler windshield almost goes straight up & down...The mount would need alot of swivel im thinking! Thats where im at right now trying to figure out what would work by viewing a photo instead of having it in my hand and so i figured i would check with someone that has one already mounted and its proven to work functionally. If i could find a suction cup windshield mount, i think it would work if it had a double swivel. Let me know what you have and a address link where i can purchase the mount....I would appreciate it....
    I have this mount but the camera would be side ways if i stuck it to the dash...So i know that wont work....It came with the camera...Only good for a helmet mount and im looking for a dash or windshield mount specifically for a jeep wrangler windshield!

    Would this windshield mount work in a jeep wrangler???

    It looks like my only bet at this point from the very limited choices...Let me know....Thanks
    UPDATE:
    I just come across this item on ebay...Its a dash suction cup mount! Would that work? It looks promising compared to everything i had looked at & not a bad price i might add!

      Jeff P hi Jeff thanks for the comment. For my Midland XTC 280 to mount on the dash of my jeep I used a go pro mount. Very similar to this one. m.ebay.com/itm/141237005078?_mwBanner=1.
      I don't know with that big giant square plate is on the dash mine just has a very small foot that sticks to the dash and that The clip slides into. It can be adjusted in a lot of different angles and stays pretty steady. The base mount that sticks to the Dash I bought at Walmart in the camera section under go pro accessories. They come in a bag with various kinds in it. I also use mine on my helmet on the motorcycle. Your links show the exact mounting system that I use for my helmet. Your other link had a handlebar strap mount. Are used one of those for less than a year and the strap broke on me. The camera never stayed very steady with it. I hope this helps. If not let me know and I'll try and give more detailed information.

      I clicked on that link and i like that mount but do you think that it would work on a 1995 jeep wrangler yj front dash??? The dash on a yj isnt that big in width, its 3" deep and 3 3/4" left to right dead center of the dash along with a slight downward slope towards the windshield! Anywhere else its all vents with a narrow 2" strip!..hahaha! Its either that link or this one...

      I have a radar detector as well but i can always move it over just a few inches away from the center but not too far to block the air vents! What is the measurement on your bottom plate?? It looks like it would be to big for what area that i have to work with!

    • @outlaw9232
      @outlaw9232  7 років тому

      Jeff P I guess I would have to see the dash of a 1995. If I remember they're very small and narrow. As long as you have a spot that a piece of plastic computer and stick that is an inch and a half square it should work. The mount after that can swivel tilt side to side and rotate side to side so you can make it level. If you don't think your dash is wide enough to stick that on and maybe a suction cup mount to the windshield might be a better option. A buddy of mine has a section come out and sticks it to the side of his door or the top left corner of his windshield on the outside so he can still reach it to turn the camera on and off.

      Yeah a dash on a wrangler yj is the measurements that i gave in my last comment......Not very big...hahaha The center of the dash is my best bet....Its a slight angle but its a 3 x 3 3/4" area i can stick a mount! ...I just hope the front of the camera doesnt hit the windshield and if so it will allow me to adjust the swivel to fix it....Im just gonna buy that swivel...Whats $5...Worth a shot....Im 65% confident!,,,,hahaha Thanks for the tips!
