- Dear viewer,
In this video I am showing you how to reset and clear the Service Interval Reminder notification that annoyingly beeps at you every time you go to start the vehicle when an inspection is due. This is particularly helpful if you have serviced the car yourself and want to reset it or a repair shop ahs forgotten to do so after you have brought your car in for an oil change.
On older vehicles 2004-2008 (pre-facelift) models you will need to use VCDS in order to perform the reset. There is just no other way around it. It is just how these vehicles were designed. However, Audi must have realized what an inconvenience that might be and on newer vehicles, namely the facelift A6 (2008-2011) you can also perform the reset quite easily through the MMI. All you need to do is navigate to the Service menu, as I show in the video and you will have the option to perform the Service Interval Reset (SRI) by selecting the appropriate option.
As usual, if you have any questions please post them in the comment section below and we will do our best to answer them. Don't forget to like the video if you found it helpful and subscribe if you would like to see more videos like this.

Hello, i've performed the reset following your video, even after 500KM driven it still appears the same message " Service interval display are not yet avaible" for how long should i drive until i get some new numbers after the new oil change,.
Thank you
Thanks for taking the time for leaving a comment!
hello, I saw the error adaptive light on this board, how to fix it
There are two ways to fix it. I have videos coming up for both. Can't say when exactly the videos will be released though. One of them needs to get edited. The other one I still haven't gotten around to actually filming.
Thanks. Whats the cheapest way to get this laptop/software vcds? Cheers
You can check on Ebay. The VCDS software and cable are what's sold as package. You can't really have one without the other. You can install the program on any laptop that is running a Windows operating system and has at least one USB port so that you can plug the cable in.
@@EndlessMotorWorks thanks! I will search for
I have driven like 40km’s and service interval display still dont display, how much kms to next service
The service interval reset will start to display a new value after being reset when at least 500km have been driven.
what type of cable interface useit for this car i buyit 3 blt, wifi, cable, all 3 not work ?
Unless you have the factory Audi Music Interface (AMI) in the glovebox, you cannot add aux, Bluetooth or USB in any way that is cheap or easy. The reason for that is that these require fiberoptics in order to be able to run.
My facelift doesn’t have the option, I have to use vcds, you can only reset oil change interval
The Service Interval Reset is exactly for the oil.
I have an Audi A6 c6 - 2006 with MMI 2g colour screen, I don't know how to adjust digital speed on the central screen, also I already have VCDS but I need advice from you...
Thanks in advance!!
Do you have a color display in the cluster as well?
@@EndlessMotorWorks yes of course it's colour cluster
@@mladenstankovic4299 There is a stalk on the right hand side of the steering wheel, which controls what is being shown on the little screen in the cluster including the digital speed.
@@EndlessMotorWorks that's right, I know there are two menus, but it won't show the digital speed when I do that, as if some update via VCDS is needed
@@mladenstankovic4299 If the digital speedometer is not on the menu list it will need to be coded in with VCDS
I was do that and now show me i have to insert cd
❤
Thanks!
