4:56 this fight is actually a reference to Slogra and Gaibon, from Super Castlevania 4, where they were two of the final bosses before Dracula and a reference to Symphony of the Night where they are the first bosses you fight against as a tag team. Charizard is blue like Gaibon and Dedede is green and has a weapon like Slogra.
As a wrestling fan, here’s my insight on the Incineroar mirror match: it comes to the inspiration for his design: the legendary masked wrestler Tiger Mask. Basically there’s has been various incarnations of Tiger Mask (even an evil one which color scheme actually matches Incineroar’s normal colors) so basically this was a reference to Tiger Mask facing his evil doppelgänger
For Ivysaur in Dark Samus' route, I actually thought it might have been a reference to the clones of the first movie, Pikachu, Squirtle and Charizard being on Ash's side but the Poison type explanation might be less convoluted
What’s interesting is that in Simon’s route, the round against Bowser, Mewtwo, and Gannon has a reference that is not related to castlevania at all. It is a reference to SSBM in the events category in event 51 where you would fight against Mewtwo, Gannon, and Giga Bowser in a 3 stock battle for the final event which is the hardest out of all events. In this battle, Bowser is in his normal form, not his giga form, making it a interesting touch of reference to this round
A little observation is that in Ridley's classic mode, only peach is kinda there, Mario doesn't pilot the comet observatory, but he does comet Starship Mario and is always refered to as Captain, so, really he makes sense alongside Rosalina
Although it makes perfect sense that Richter's final boss is Dracula, even though crazy hand and master hand aren't the same, it just feels like Richter's final boss should be crazy hand
It would have been better if Dark Samus had the Richter classic mode idea, as Dark Samus originated in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes so they could have made that reference
I'm surprised kirby wasn't in incanaroars rout given his up throw side throws and the fact that in past game skirb6 has gotten fighting a boxing related abilities
Details missed: Simon: -The Bayonetta and Dark Pit fight has them both fight each other, as a reference to both Bayonetta’s reveal trailer, and Bayonetta in general. -The Green Dedede and Blue Charizard are references to Slogra and the Gaibon, both end-game bosses from Super Castlevania 4. Dark Samus: -The brainwashing theme is taken directly from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, where Dark Samus brainwashes Samus’ allies. -Also, Dark Samus isn’t a “corrupted Samus”; it’s a Phazon-powered Metroid that absorbed Samus’ Phazon suit.
14:44 Pretty sure it's a reference to lucha libre, with the base red inceroar being a technico and the purple one being a rudo. Similar to the shiny hawlucha pallet, which is further referenced by the shiny hawlucha who plays Dark Hawlucha in the anime. I'd say it's a Tiger Mask reference but if it was, the purple one would be black instead.
"...which kinda bends the rules as Rosalina is really the only one who pilots the Comet Observatory, while _Mario just kinda tags along for the ride."_ He says, as the *Starship Mario* is literally flying on screen. 😂
4:53 this fight is most likely a reference to Gaibon and Slogra. Gaibon is usually a blue color but turns red when enough damage is done to him and uses fire attacks. Slogs is green and typically uses a spear, so Dedede is the most likely choice since he is the only character that fights using a two handed weapon. Most of the games also have an early boss fight be against a Gaibon and Slogra together and later they show up as normal enemies.
2 things on Incineroar's classic mode. The battle between Morton and Ludwig specifically reference a tag match known as a Tornado Tag match where both wrestlers of both teams go at it. And the purple Incineroar can reference the "imposter wrestler" a copy cat if you will. A good example is the match between Sin Cara Azul, The real Sin Cara and Sin Cara Negro, the imposter who posed as the original.
In Ridley's Classic Mode, during the fight Vs. Rosalina & Luma, Mario & Peach, you said that Mario is there "for the ride", but I think this stage is references to the Comet Observatory (Rosalina & Luma) and to the Odyssey (Mario), so the ships are the Comet Observatory and the Odyssey
"no bosses that fit the theme" is no real excuse either. several fighters have boss fights that compose of standard fighters, like mega man vs doc and mewtwo, or bayonetta vs giant palutena
@@jackthememer1186 not really, honestly. many FE characters have a certain theme that rathalos does not fit the criteria for. only marth (and arguably robin) actually have fitting routes, and marth already has rathalos as a boss lucina and byleth: FE characters (rathalos is from monster hunter, not fire emblem) roy: sword wielders (rathalos does not wield a sword, though its claws could arguably be considered swordlike. certainly more fitting than the hands) ike: black colored fighers (while having some black body parts, rathalos is primarily red, and appears in bowsers red-themed route) robin: fire and electricity wielders (rathalos certainly wields fire, but has no electric attacks. only fits half the theme) corrin: white and black colored fighters (same as ike. rathalos only has some black, and no white coloring to speak of) then again, if this means fewer fights against the hands, i would prefer it
@@jackthememer1186 i do think that rathalos would suit the awakening reps. if i thought of a boss to represent grima, i would have chosen rathalos over the hands. also, i will never get over the fact that the sword wielding ganon is not in the sword wielder route
Nice Job on This! My Favorite is Probably Inkling or King K Rool’s! But, I think Mario’s Inclusion in Ridley’s Classic Mode is a Reference to Super Mario Galaxy 2, Where Mario was a Pilot on Starship Mario! It could also Be a Reference to Mario Odyssey!
You could actually count master hand as a possessed. It's controlled by a smash original boss named Tabuu. It came from smash melee. Master hand is just a puppet, but I assume you know what I mean.
Unfortunately the Mii fighters don’t have a classic mode, but there should be a video on how it could be. Like either each Mii fighter goes against characters they share games with, all the characters from the most popular games(Mario,Splatoon,Donkey Kong,Metroid, etc.),have them go against characters that can also be customized, or just each fighter facing ones of similar types(Brawler vs Brawler type character, Swordfighter Vs Sword characters, and Gunner against those with guns or other weapons). The Final Boss would differ for each one. Mii Brawler would face Galleom(since they were originally thought to be put in brawl)or any of the other bosses,Mii Swordfighter would face Rathalos or Ganon, and Mii Gunner would face Galleom. They may just end up facing Master Hand and Crazy Hand like in Smash 4 as well. Try to make a video about Mii Fighter classic mode with these ideas in mind😉👍🏾.
5:47 Out of all the appearances, Crazy Hand would make sense as Richter's boss since he is the echo of Master Hand. I suppose that is kinda what they did for Ken.
Banjo & Kazooie's route "Perfect Partners" has them fight fighters in a team of two or two characters that make sense from the same series. Once you reach Master & Crazy, just say..."& we end it with you know who", if you desire anyway.
The fight against bowser, ganon, and mewtwo at 5:04 could be a reference to event 51 in melee. This would also fit the theme of "Smashvania" since event 51 was the final event of smash melee.
I was honestly waiting for this video, specifically for the saltiness about Master and Crazy Hand. I also just thought earlier today, what if more Assist Trophies were turned into bosses?
6:15 I would actually argue that this is a situation where one of the hands would actually make sense. If the boss was crazy hand, the echo of master hand, it could actually be pretty cool.
Actually in Simon's route, the Slogra and Gaibon reference is in stage 4, while stage 5 seems more like a reference to Melee's latest event match where you fight the exact same team plus they're all dark/evil in some sort.
The Bayonetta and Dark Pit fight in Simon's route has been theorized to be a reference to the vampiress Carmilla and her servant Laura. Bayonetta and Carmilla are quite similar, plus Bloody Tears has consistently been used as Carmilla's theme across the Castlevania series. Also, in Galaxy 2, Mario was the captain of the Starship Mario.
Inkling's final boss being Marx is also quite clever since in Super Star, swallowing one of Marx's attacks is the only way to give Kirby the rare "Paint" copy ability, obviously fitting the Inkling's gameplay from their home series.
Simon's fight against green Dedede and purple Charizard is probably a reference to Slogra and Gaibon, two bosses from Super Castlevania 4 who were first their own separate bosses but then sort of got associated with each other and at times fought together at once. Slogra is a green spear wielding monster with a beak which I guess they went with Dedede since he's beaked and carries a weapon, even if it's not a spear. Gaibon is a kind of bat-like/dragon like monster, which fits in line with Charizard more or less.
The Luigi fight in Ken classic Mode, can be a reference of what Sakurai said about Luigi being the original echo fighter, so it can be a battle for the title of the original echo fighter.
Happy Pride! :)

Although it makes perfect sense that Richter's final boss is Dracula, even though crazy hand and master hand aren't the same, it just feels like Richter's final boss should be crazy hand
Well Master and Crazy Hand being Chrom's final boss actually makes sense this time as they are an iconic duo.
I actually think that in Dark Samus’ route, Zelda’s colour is meant to represent Hilda, the princess of Lorule.
It would have been better if Dark Samus had the Richter classic mode idea, as Dark Samus originated in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes so they could have made that reference
How dare you forget Super Mario Galaxy 2 like Nintendo did! >:[
Mario Piloted the Faceship, it's even in the damn stage!
I'm surprised kirby wasn't in incanaroars rout given his up throw side throws and the fact that in past game skirb6 has gotten fighting a boxing related abilities
I really like the concept behind Dark Samus. And I have to say, these videos are really making me appreciate Classic Mode.
13:02 Except for the part where it's not a stamina battle...
So basically, Dark Samus's Classic Mode route is an combination of both Ganondorf's and Mewtwo's.
Details missed:
Simon:
-The Bayonetta and Dark Pit fight has them both fight each other, as a reference to both Bayonetta’s reveal trailer, and Bayonetta in general.
-The Green Dedede and Blue Charizard are references to Slogra and the Gaibon, both end-game bosses from Super Castlevania 4.
Dark Samus:
-The brainwashing theme is taken directly from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, where Dark Samus brainwashes Samus’ allies.
-Also, Dark Samus isn’t a “corrupted Samus”; it’s a Phazon-powered Metroid that absorbed Samus’ Phazon suit.
4:46
Confirmed!
Masahiro Sakurai shiped Bayonetta Winkybunion and Pittoo.
Dude rosalina is the princess of the cosmos
14:44 Pretty sure it's a reference to lucha libre, with the base red inceroar being a technico and the purple one being a rudo. Similar to the shiny hawlucha pallet, which is further referenced by the shiny hawlucha who plays Dark Hawlucha in the anime. I'd say it's a Tiger Mask reference but if it was, the purple one would be black instead.
The one time having a Crazy Hand fight would make sense is for Richter, as he's a clone of Master Hand
"...which kinda bends the rules as Rosalina is really the only one who pilots the Comet Observatory, while _Mario just kinda tags along for the ride."_
He says, as the *Starship Mario* is literally flying on screen. 😂
7:47 is a referans to Shadow Pokemon
4:53 this fight is most likely a reference to Gaibon and Slogra. Gaibon is usually a blue color but turns red when enough damage is done to him and uses fire attacks. Slogs is green and typically uses a spear, so Dedede is the most likely choice since he is the only character that fights using a two handed weapon. Most of the games also have an early boss fight be against a Gaibon and Slogra together and later they show up as normal enemies.
Are you gonna do the dlc for smash bros ultimate classic mode gonna be seprate for each one or are they gonna be together
probably separate between season pass 1 & 2
Hey at least Master hand in Dark Samus' makes sense in a way. Master hand was controllede by Tabuu in Brawl's subspace emissary
I wish some of the bosses were more creative then just Master Hand and Crazy Hand.
"no bosses that fit the theme" is no real excuse either. several fighters have boss fights that compose of standard fighters, like mega man vs doc and mewtwo, or bayonetta vs giant palutena
@@Underworlder5 I feel like a lot of the fire emblem characters could have fought rathalos.
@@jackthememer1186 not really, honestly. many FE characters have a certain theme that rathalos does not fit the criteria for. only marth (and arguably robin) actually have fitting routes, and marth already has rathalos as a boss
lucina and byleth: FE characters (rathalos is from monster hunter, not fire emblem)
roy: sword wielders (rathalos does not wield a sword, though its claws could arguably be considered swordlike. certainly more fitting than the hands)
ike: black colored fighers (while having some black body parts, rathalos is primarily red, and appears in bowsers red-themed route)
robin: fire and electricity wielders (rathalos certainly wields fire, but has no electric attacks. only fits half the theme)
corrin: white and black colored fighters (same as ike. rathalos only has some black, and no white coloring to speak of)
then again, if this means fewer fights against the hands, i would prefer it
@@Underworlder5 Yeah I see what you mean but both FE and Rathalos come from fantasy genres of games.
@@jackthememer1186 i do think that rathalos would suit the awakening reps. if i thought of a boss to represent grima, i would have chosen rathalos over the hands. also, i will never get over the fact that the sword wielding ganon is not in the sword wielder route
Steve better be killing spehiroth in the next videos thumbail
Nintendo likes crazy hand master hand fights
Can’t wait to see you do all the DLC characters next after all of them are released.
4:59 That DDD is green, that cyclops is blue. I don't get it.
Aaron is back
So what you’re saying is, Isabelle’s route should have been called “Sausage Party”
2:38 Dang, you said Viridi's name right before, but this time, it just wasn't it. LOL
5:47 Out of all the appearances, Crazy Hand would make sense as Richter's boss since he is the echo of Master Hand. I suppose that is kinda what they did for Ken.
5:04
This could also be a reference to event 51 in Super Smash Bros Melee where you fight the same characters, except Bowser is Giga Bowser.
Daisy’s Classic Mode should’ve been Galleom, a reference to Tatanga from Super Mario Land.
Banjo & Kazooie's route "Perfect Partners" has them fight fighters in a team of two or two characters that make sense from the same series. Once you reach Master & Crazy, just say..."& we end it with you know who", if you desire anyway.
Mario actually is a spaceship pilot, in Super Mario Galaxy 2 he is the one piloting the Mario-shaped ship.
I've been waiting for this! 😃
mario makes sense cuz he rides the oddysey
5:45 when the final boss isn’t master crazy hand
Mafia city ad pops up
A little detail you've missed on Richter echoe theme classic mode is that when he fights Dark Samus, the song is from Metroid Prime 2 Echoes.
The fight against bowser, ganon, and mewtwo at 5:04 could be a reference to event 51 in melee. This would also fit the theme of "Smashvania" since event 51 was the final event of smash melee.
Round 4 in Ridley's Route is a reference to Rosalina & Luma, Mario, and Peach being in Super Mario Galaxy which is a space-themed Mario game.
This UA-cam channel is so wholesome and I don’t know why.
I think the first fight in Simon’s classic is a reference to Creature and Fleaman, while the Bayonetta and Dark Pit reference Carmilla and Hector
The fact that Villager was left out of Incineroar's route tho.
Woo! Another video in the incredible series!
8:29 It's particularly appropriate since Samus and Ridley canonically hate each other more than either of them hates Dark Samus.
"Peach is just there"
E3 2021: You sure about that?
Simon's Classic Mode was pure misery trying to beat. And it's mainly due to that 1v3 fight against Bowser, Ganondorf and Mewtwo.
Today, I had a feeling that you would upload today. I guess that was a great feeling.
I can’t believe the best music from Splatoon plays in the end of Inkling’s path in Classic mode!
The Luigi fight in Ken classic Mode, can be a reference of what Sakurai said about Luigi being the original echo fighter, so it can be a battle for the title of the original echo fighter.
A detail you missed in Incenaroar is that K Rool shares up throw with Incenaroar: The Argentine Backbreaker, a wrestling move.
6:14 It would have been super cool if he fought crazy hand, without master hand.
