Great video! You made a video before on tips for passing an anatomy exam, I'm wondering if you could make a video on your advice for learning anatomy in general, how to approach it in an effective way etc. Thanks for the great content sam!
Very grateful for this very instructive video! Yet I am somewhat confused about the relative locations of the flexor retinaculum (FR) and the transverse carpal ligament (TCL). Up to now I believed that the TCL would constitute the "roof" of the carpal tunnel whereas the FR the "floor" of the same tunnel, tightening the first row of the carpal bones together (viewed from the perspective of the palm of the hand pointing in the upward direction). Could anybody please clarify? 🙏
I have been listening to you explaining what carpel tunnel is and how it can affect the area of your hand and arm. I am a qualified massage therapist and I found over a course of repeated treatments of massage i would have the feeling of aching, pins and needles, numbness, tingling and some times pain in my hand and arm. My thumb would throb and ache and seeze up in pain Through consrantly repeating a massage routine. Can that be the cause of carpel tunnel?
Can a weakened carpal tunnel ( weakened by a cut across the wrist ) cause tendon problems and shrink the tendons so they cannot be placed back in place at the elbow by surgery , as they have shrunk or become displaced at the elbow by the pressure at the wrist ? not medical professional but appreciate your videos .
I can treat carpal tunnel syndrome with Quantum Touch Healing. Inflammation is the key to relieving the pain. I have work with people with stenosing tenosynovitis or Trigger Finger and I was able to allow them to have more ROM and flexibility within 15 minutes. Carpal Tunnel is no different. Actually easier. Thank you Sam. I love all your anatomy videos. I am a certified QT healer and certified MT. I love exploring new ways to heal pathologies and different conditions.
10:25 if the cause is pregnancy of your carpel tunnel syndrome, then a great man once Said, "If you're pregnant, giving birth should help" So all the pregnant mom's out there, be quick on giving birth or you may suffer carpal tunnel syndrome 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 *pun intended *
Cutting the flexor retinaculum (or transverse carpal ligament?) in order to release the pressure on the median nerve will on the other hand have an adverse effect on the stability of the wrist in general , won't it? The flexor tendons will probably bulge outward when they will have to exert force, won't they?
How odd this is? I was just writing about carpal tunnel syndrome when I received the notification. Dr. Sam don’t hide it. Who are you communicating with? Haha
The neck is also a big issue in Carpal tunnel syndrome I find. At the base of the neck is the Stellate Ganglion which controls the repair of this area , if there is a problem in this area, then Carpal tunnel syndrome can develop
I think I've got carpal tunnel I'm waiting to get an appt at the doc to diagnose me properly. This video is very interesting to watch and informative, helped me alot, thank you. Everything that I needed to know in a short informative video.
I’m gonna mention you in my graduation med school speech
Never would’ve done it without you
