I put this together using my father's wartime photographs. Cameras were forbidden - thankfully Dad paid no attention to that rule. He sneaked an old Brownie box camera on board and captured these images.
Really, that's terrific. Your father's name is listed in the short history I put together on the Q072. The URL is included at the end of the UA-cam video. Back in the early 1990's I published a short book on the ship. If interested in a copy I'll sent it along to you. Let me know when you have finished your digital scrapbook. K
I am very interested in your book on the Q72. I have a friend that served on that ship; he is interested in seeing it. He is in the photo on VE day in the video. I am anxious to contact you. Please let me know how to make a contact with you. Louise
@crimeaboy1 Malheureusement non, seulement un blue print a l'échelle de 1\24 avec quelque différence avec le Q 072. Je ne sais rien de l'histoire du Q 061 sauf qu'il faisais partie de la 72 nd flotille
I would like to thank crimeaboy1 for allowing me to use his father's photos on my website project for the RCN. You can view the page for ML Q072 at www.forposterityssake.ca/Navy/HMC_ML_Q072.htm. If anyone else would like to submit photos to my website to preserve and share the history of the RCN, my contact info is at the bottom of each ships page. Yours Aye.
My grandfather was a torpedoman on Q405 HMNZS fairmile mainly in the soloman islands during WWII. I have some great photos. Good to see this.
These Fairmile B's were just magic.
For anyone interested in Australia you can get 2 very comprehensive books on the B's in AUSTRALIAN SERVICE.
My dad served on ML194.

Les dossiers pour tous les bateaux sont à Bibliothèque et Archives Canada à Ottawa.
Avez-vous une collection de photos de ce bateau ?
Hi Louise. You can send an email to me at dogh@sympatico.ca. Who do you recognise in the photograph?
