What I'd like to know is how you do those light leak transitions. I typically use the basic ones with the yellow flash, but I see that you add some sort of inverted filter. How do you do that?

Let me guess, you are using after effect 2021 or 2022. Well the UI he is using is 2023 so yeah wish us all luck that are using the old model of after effects.

I get my film burns from acidbite. The one you’re referring to is set to the difference blend mode

Hi Mapal! Question: How did you make the path of the "light ball" curved? When changing the position of the null it only goes into straight lines
If you right click the key frames you can change the interpolation from linear to bezier. That should do the trick
