  • I build this four stroke horizontal gas engine 1985 , very inspired by an English built gas engine called Crossley M type, from about 1895.
    The engine has high tension ignition, runs on lightergas and is water cooled.
    Bore 20 mm. Stroke 42 mm. Water cooled.
    Engine build by Find Hansen Denmark 1985

    Always nice to watch a new video from Maestro Hansen! Well if that is engine number one, then no wonder the hot bulbs and diesels are so great!
    Thank you, and keep well.
    Best wishes from George

    I'm a CNC machinist that have worked with high precision manufacturing but I also love making "impossible" things in manual machines.
    Your engines goes well beyond by including art as well, always a pleasure to see.
    It would be really interesting to see what machines you're using to create these!

    Hello Mr Hansen,
    You are a master engineer, your models are a work of art and a credit to your skills and workmanship.
    Thank you very much for your time to show us, I'm looking forward to retirement when I hope to have the time to tinker in my small workshop..... Only 8 years to go!
    My best regards and thanks,
    Peter.

    Mr. Find Hansen, you are a true artisan. My engines are steam or air, they are basically junk compared to yours. You are the best! However , my engines are very unique.

    Again a very nice engine. Is the gas continuously flowing? Or is it only flowing during the intake stroke?

    • @MysticalDork
      @MysticalDork 2 роки тому

      Looks like a continuous flow setup. I don't see any kind of demand valve or other means of controlling the gas, other than the manual valves.

    • @patrickshaw8595
      @patrickshaw8595 2 роки тому

      @@MysticalDork It doesn't flow liquid fuel to the Mixer. The fuel tank is arranged so that air is drawn in a vent and piped to the bottom of the tank. Air maximally saturated with Cigarette Lighter Fluid Vapor is drawn out by suction to the Mixer. The Mixer has a throttle which is a large solid rod bored on the axis away from the operating handle for a fuel vapor passage. The combustion air passage through the throttle drum has a crossways venturi shape wherein the opening is perhaps half as large as its outlet. At wide open throttle the venturi sucks fuel vapor through the tapered adjustable metering screw-jet. As it is throttled back the venturi's small opening is closed off more rapidly than it's outlet and suction is generated more by choking than by venturi pressure drop. It is analogous to how a conventional carburetor has a jetted liquid fuel inlet to the Venturi and a separate tapered screw "idle fuel" adjustment - - but this combines both actions by the shape of the venturi built into the large throttle shaft.

    Thank you for posting. It’s a beautiful engine! I was listening and I think you may have some slightly incorrect information. I don’t mean to be critical but I believe the Crosley engines used a direct flame ignition and not a hot tube.

    Altid spændende at se dine maskiner. Jeg fik ikke fat i hvad den lodretstående cylinder var ? Er der kølevand i den?
