    Crackin’ good video mate! Leofoto is a good brand, and keeps improving. They also back their products.
    @ 17:14. Gaffers Tape mate! MUCH better to work with! Was that the LS284 you had in this video? Stay safe and happy shooting!

      Cheers mate, will look into Gaffers Tape. The legs in this are the LS324CEX and the head the LH-55.

      @@seawildearth LS324 a good set of legs, but not a lot of difference between them and the 284, IMO. The 284 could be a bit taller, but so light and easy to use. I have been using the new LS284C Pro models with watertight leg locks, and new CF, and 4 position leg locks! It’s a good piece of kit. Just under 1.8 kg, with small ball head, but load capacity over 12 kg! Cheers

    I believe you stated that your camera is a 5drs, what lens did you use - red ring would indicate at least a Canon.

      Fitted to the 5DSr is the Canon 24-70mm f2.8. Indeed the Canon L Glass denoted with the red ring.

      I may have missed it but my Canon body needs to be in Bulb mode to shoot anything longer than 30 seconds.
      Also why didn't you use live view?

      If you are working with either of the three most common filters, 6 Stop, 10 Stop or 15 Stop I find the best app to use is the Stopper App from Lee Filters. For anything else I use Long Exposure Calculator by Junel Corales from the App Store, iOS.

    If you ever had an Arca Swiss D4 GP in your hands you will know and see that it's something complete different than you have here and both can not compared with each other. Both are Geared Heads, but that's about it.

    Just ordered one of these on ebay, currently using the manfrotto 410, is this a lot better? Ive had a few 410’s fail on me plus the gears on the 410 arent that smooth

    • @seawildearth

      It is acceptable as a solution. Just watch out for payload limitations on the head when not completely level.

      My “problem” with the 410 is its weight. Looking into the Leofoto G4 as a replacement.

      Hi Gilles, the one I have is an integrated feature of the Leofoto Ranger LS-284CEX Carbon Fibre Tripod. They do sell them solo and I think the closest to this one would be the LB-60N.

    The geared head is a massive overkill for the purpose of landscape photography. The same can be achieved using a ball head, especially if onboard level indicator is used. It doesn't matter if your photo is one or two deg off. Nobody is going to notice.

    • @seawildearth
      @seawildearth  6 місяців тому +2

      There are no rules for photography. If someone wants to use a geared head and dial into degrees of movement due to their own OCD for a landscape image who is to say that's wrong? It's the perfect tool for someone who wishes to be absolutely precise on incremental movements for a pano shot for example. The difference between good and perfect is down to the detail and workmanship of a product.

      I love using a geared head. Slows me down, allows me to make little adjustments.

    • @kennicholls2155
      @kennicholls2155 5 місяців тому +2

      With a heavier camera and lens the ball head is an absolute pain. I just bought this head and it is so much easier and much faster to compose a shot. I used to spend ages trying to get the camera level and almost impossible to make fine adjustments with a ball head.
