- I just did a valve adjustment and came across a couple issues so I'm posting solutions. First one was a stuck tappet AFTER checking shim and replacing tappet bucket. It was oil/hydrolocked. Couldn't spin or anything). After many tries, including compressed air, freezing with canned air, etc I put the camshaft cap back on. Squirt of oil on tappet as i cycled the crankshaft, cap back off. Voila. It came out. It just happens sometimes. Don't do something stupid an f-up a $40 tappet.
2nd issue that wasn't really an issue, was the IN/EX marks on camshaft sprockets are hidden because in all their wisdom, Kawi put the marks on the outside of the sprockets which is about an inch from the frame. Now I made marks on my chain and sprockets, but technically, if the chain slipped, I'd be SOL. So while camshaft were out, I made marks on the inside of sprockets corresponding to marks on the outside. Thus it's now easy to see when IN/EX marks are even with case.
Sorry for the janky video. I should post 100's of videos for bikes, jeep, ford truck and fabrication..but I don't cause I'm selfish AF.
Why my bike has the in and ex in the other side?
What kind of bike?
