@@JaymesMedia yh, I am so in love with the Canon C70 form factor. But I love Fujifilm Colours, F-log and with F-log 2 and ProRes. The XH2S is just a perfect Camera. I have been hoping to see a proper Side by Side Comparison between the Canon C70 C-log 2 and Fujifilm XH2S F-log 2 from someone who can really Colour grade
That cinematic look is the main reason I bought the X H2S. The features in your video would be nice to have but a this price level you basically doing work arounds to get what you need.
Thank you very much. What you are saying is True. They’re not deal breakers though since most of us are rigging up our cameras now and adding monitors with those features. Even people who have cameras with these features always add a monitor for more Visual real estate.
I just bought a 2T CFExpress B card. It works excellent! They had them on sale at B&H for $499 (should have bought 2). Now they're back up to $899! For me, that took care of your #4.
I agree with the recording directly to an SSD. I also came to Fuji not for the Autofocus but, for the image quality, color science and features for price ( ie video resolution and such )
@Myron Hill Certain of the new Prime lens function better than others for autofocus. The Viltrox 13mm 1.4 is one amazing lens in this arena. You reviewed the Tamron 17-70 f2.8 constant aperture lens Ricky now let's see how the Viltrox 75mm 1.2 pro lens works.
yeah good points, I honestly thought they would make the xh2s a cinema camera, this is the one thing stopping them from becoming a brand that people can have an ecosystem in, they clearly capable of doing it, so lets hope the next year or two we see something otherwise I can see people moving on if they shoot mainly video like me.
What are you going with for your anamorphic lenses? I know Sirui makes a native x mount in a few of their options. I use Canon FD's with a Metabones Speedbooster quite a bit on my narrative films. I also have a set of Minolta Rokkors as well as a small set of Pentax and Russian made lenses. All of them bring something different to table. I have a speedbooster for my m42 mount lenses which makes a huge difference on the APS-C... Especially with the Helios 44-2. For wedding work, may I suggest the Meike Compact Cine Primes? I have the 25mm in native x mount which is my go-to for gimbal work. Some vintage characteristics, but without being fully vintage. I liked it so much that I purchased the 18, 25, 35, 50, and 75 in their s35 line / EF mount. On the SSD front, I don't miss that functionality, especially with the Ninja V+ recorder/monitor. I am running ProRes Raw in 6k off that without issue. The XH2s is becoming my "B" camera on shoots where I am using the RED. Check out some of my videos for work with Fujifilm and Canon FD.
I love this. I was going with sirui but I kept getting face mask instead of the lens so amazon has to investigate. I finally have a Helios on the way which I’m excited to shoot some video with. I have looked at the cine primes before but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I may buy some FDs. 😉. Im starting crave some cinema work so I’m beginning to buy vintage lens for their characteristics. Im looking at the voightlander lens as well. I may buy that soon.
@@JaymesMedia Don't sleep on the Minolta MC Rokkors... They are amazing... They even made lenses which were rebadged by Leica... You can get them cheaper than FD's right now. Different, but amazing. Definitely check out those Native x-mount compact cine primes from Meike... They are like $400 ea (maybe $500)?
@@ScottClintonPhotography I I definitely won’t sleep on them. If they have very nice characteristics, they will definitely end up in my collection. I’ll definitely check out those cine primes
+1 for Canon FD lenses. I've got a beautiful 50mm f1.8 (wish it was a 1.4 but hey!). It\s a bit tight for most of my uses, but the footage / images I get is lovely. Anyway, happy New Year to you mate - here's to a successful 2023 :-)
Happy New Year to you as well my friend. I don’t have an FD lens bUT I KNOW they are amazing. I will be adding some to my set one day. My goal this year for lens is to grab cinematic/vintage & Anamorphic lens to produce short films.
The A-Roll was actually in Rec.709. Didn’t have my settings right on my ninja v. 🤦🏽♂️
I pray Fujifilm makes a cinema camera with the specs of the XH2S with me filter, wave form, XLR inputs and the body style of the Canon C70.
@@shridexdigi1982 That would be dope. If they do,they’ll take over
