The two things that helped me begin to have a less cluttered home is 1. Start in your bedroom, declutter then refresh it, maybe that is a fresh coat of paint, new sheets, whatever makes it one place you can go to even if the rest of the home is cluttered. This helps to see what can be for the rest of the house. Keep it as a clutter free zone, then move onto another area. 2. Simplifying wardrobes. Fewer clothes means laundry cannot build up to an unmanageable level. Both of these really helped me begin my minimalism journey. Excellent Video Candice🌷

This episode you made confirmed my why. I’ve been trying sooooo long to find it. Boundaries to prevent anxiety and overwhelm is gold. And my biggest one is the same as yours , my kids. I have four and I just don’t want their mom to be always busy and not connecting. I do spend time with them but I always feel stressed by the home. I don’t want that for myself and my experience of motherhood.

When I first saw “curb shopping” I thought of checking peoples curbs for items they tossed out. I thought we’ll that’s not very minimalistic lol!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 I had to tell myself that a curb is a verb too not just a noun lol

Always enjoy your positive, bubbly personality. Thanks for the tips and encouragement! Working towards a whole house declutter with less to manage as a goal along with all the benefits that go with that for my family of 6. Starting with all the extras strewn about in our living spaces :)

I learned the question "where would i look for it first" from Dana K White and her no-mess decluttering method and the container concept. It's a game-changer! I love the idea about writing down the hot spots! Great idea, I also like the idea about decluttering one small area and keeping it that way for a week before moving on to another area! Thank you for sharing this! I will be implementing these tips STAT!

Yes, I wish this youtube creator and more people would give Dana credit for her ideas.

Yes! I love that having less gives the freedom to do more hobbies. I also try to shop for other people instead of getting the dopamine by shopping for myself. Or I'll just take pictures of adorable things I see, and it's OK that I don't own it. I can't own every single cute thing!

I just read a comment at another channel that they gave up minimalism because it was boring and they missed having pretty things around them but in every of your videos I see so much life and color and pretty things! We can enjoy pretty things without living on a pile of junk.

Hi Candice, love your videos and your positive energy! 😊
One of the things I'm always impressed by in your videos is how beautifully done your hair is, whether it's up or down, braided or curled it always looks gorgeous.
Maybe you could do a morning routine or get ready with me video showing us the different ways you style your hair?
Anyway keep the videos coming, you're always a breath of fresh air and so inspiring. Thank you 💖

Love ur channel (mainly bcuz u decorate, occasionally shop & keep a cozy house- while still maintaining minimalism)! I'm on the journey to decluttering the entire house- the "grey area" & the "clutter hotspots" r the hardest! Definitely want more family time & less cleaning & containing of "stuff"!!!😊💖

Thanks Candace! This was helpful! You look beautiful btw! Thanks for sharing. One suggestion/question - would you consider giving your name when you start or end your videos? I never knew your name for the longest time. LOL! It's okay if you don't but I think it would be helpful to new folks watching. Blessings and Peace! Have a great day! :-)

You are so awesome. Thank you for sharing, I've been working on minimalizing for 4 years now. My clothes have become so much less stressful for me as I've worked down to a capsule wardrobe, but homeschool stuff is a whole different world 😂 but it's next.
Ps you have a typo in your title :-) just my ocd trying to help.

"Have a place for everything" is the thing I'm struggling with. Can u plz make a more specific organization video about ur system to keep things in place? I mean like the bra, kids' old clothes, worn clothes (but not dirty yet), etc. Thank u.

    Candace !!
    Love watching you
    But
    I have 7 children
    And 6 living at home
    Homeschooled for years
    Very expensive to give away
But time consuming to try to sell on Facebook
    Any advice ?
Toys - I have apple product toys Bc my youngest is 12
How do I get rid of these ??
Sometimes a rage purge is great
    For my garage and crafts.
Lots of depression and anxiety here
    I attribute some to clutter
I want to be a better mother. As you said !
    Help help help

I'm 100% on board with decluttering and having less for my kids and myself. It definitely makes a positively huge difference in our lives. However, my husband has a million "junk drawers" like I'm talking 4 dresser drawers and 2 shelves in our closet and that's not counting all his boxes in the garage that are NOT tools! HELP!!!!

Toys are such a pain point for me! I feel like I hang on to more than my kids even care about. All the "just in case" stuff is hard. My oldest especially gets bored with things easily and switches what she is into every couple weeks. Do you think if we just got rid of ones she really doesn't touch often she would focus more on what she does have?

    • @michelesusanne1
      @michelesusanne1 2 роки тому +1

Try keeping fewer toys in rotation. 6 or fewer. So much research shows kids play longer are more focused and play more creativity with fewer toys. Also consider doing memorable things together like baking, making a special dish or some none toy activities. They will remember that more than any toy.

Thank you for sharing . The towel idea is interesting and good. I bet if you laid it out on the floor and filled it up , you definitely would think twice about putting all the items in the drawer . What you said about spending more time with your children..that was my motivation years ago . When my son was 8 ..I thought I am always occupied with either doing or thinking about decluttering and I wanted that time and energy to go towards him more . 👍🏻🇬🇧💛🤍
