Make sure to plug the cable to the charger and "forget device" from all your apple products. If there is any one apple device still holding a reference to the old AirPods Pro, you might not be able to link the one old and one new piece as a new pair. Plugging in the cable is the key.

I crushed my left AirPod in traffic two months ago and I had all manner of trouble replacing and resetting - an apple tech finally guided me through it and the simple process became challenging (I don’t know what was wrong, or where I stumbled...) last week my sisters dog chewed the new left AirPod into 23 pieces, and I wasn’t looking forward to the replace/reset adventure again... This adventure went EXACTLY as your guidance said it would and it took me less time than the video... THANKS!
I got my replacements from a friend My airpod doesn’t flash amber. It shows up when I open the case but no matter how long I press the button it doesn’t connect
this will not work in every case sometimes the new airpod will have old firmware and wouldnt connect with the second (older) airpod(will keep flashing in amber or orange color after holding the back button on the case) so there are aditional steps that will help you , you need to connect the new airpod with case to the phone and make sure it is connected. And charge it while you do it too then you will have to wait for the airpod to automaticly update then you can sync both airpods together to a phone (repeating the steps in the video).best way to do it is to connect one airpod with a case to the phone. then take it out place the old airpod in a case and connect it in iphone. then place both airpods in the case and make sure both are connected are charging and wait for them to turn green thats all and youre welcome
Hey, how did you manage to pair only one airpod to your phone? Everytime I try to leave only one airpod in the case and connect it, the light goes only green and stays that way no matter what I do.

@@michaelreljic7567 you need to leave only one airpod in and press the button to re pair them but the another one needs to be forgotten on your phone
So just forget one so they both will eventually sync? Because I’m having a hard time

Thanks, for some reason my left airpod stopped playing music (but still working because noise cancelling was still on) and the case was blinking orange, I tried this and it got it working
It just stays blinking orange for me no matter how long I hold it for, or if I leave it open or closed
same i had to get a replacement for the replacement bc it wouldn’t connect but the new replacement still won’t connect
I had this issue as well. I was able to fix it by updating the firmware on my old airpods before going through these steps

Thank you SO MUCH! they just handed them to me at the Apple store and when I asked how do I connect them? The rep said it’s so easy to connect but you got to charge them first for 30 mins. So I went home and charger them for 30 mins then couldn’t figure out how to connect, I kept trying. He didn’t mention that button on the back at all!!!!!!! So disappointed! But thank YOU so much!

Hi yes I did this and it wasn’t working at first, it kept blinking orange so I left in open overnight. Now it’s just blinking white and noting is coming up on my screen to connect.

Hey um I have two AirPods Pro’s and both of them have broken AirPods the old one has the left AirPodPro broken and the new one has the right AirPod so I’m left with the left airpod from the new one and the right airpod from the old one how do I connect them both ?
I was just dealing with the problems most of the comments have. I have Airpod Pro’s, and after talking to Apple Support they said I’d need to replace the entire pair, but I was able to fully set up by doing this:
A few things I need to mention is that updating your iPhone or Android is important. Depending on when you get the replacement, your Airpod could be using the same firmware as before, while the new one uses the updated version.
Second is actually letting your Airpod’s sit in the charging case WHILE PLUGGED INTO A CHARGER. For some reason it wasn’t working for me without having it on the charger. I plugged it in, opened the case, and let the amber light flash for about a minute or so, and followed the steps in this video.
It’s also important to note that it may not work on the first try. It took me three to get mine connected, but it worked, and now I have no issues.
Thanks. PLUGGING INTO CHARGER WITH CABLE is the key. Also make sure to "Forget Device" from all your apple products. I have iMac / iPad / iPhone all have connected to the AirPods Pro before. All need to forget, otherwise the bad AirPods might still holding a link between the two ears.
Anyone who struggle follow through these steps from this comment and just keep on trying. I have been trying to pair my AirPod replacement for an hour and then boom they paired.

If the light doesn’t flash white, charge the AirPods in the case for 20 minutes and try again.

Dang. Even my iPad isn’t cooperating! As I was trying to write below, my original right ear bud and case were charged, but I think the new replacement left ear bud was not. That makes sense, as who knows how long it’s been sitting inside its box. Once the new ear bud was charged, the pairing and connecting to my iPhone Bluetooth were seamless. Your video demonstration shows that your replacement ear bud held enough charge right out of the box. Apparently mine did not.
Followed your directions without success. Then I gave the buds a full charge and trued pairing and connecting again. Bingo! My original right ear

what about if you lost your case got a fake case aide the real one too expensive and clicked the forget device in bluetooth settings.

please help i ordered a replacement airpod and continue to try and get the amber flashes to go away and after following the apple instructions by charging for 20 minutes i still cannot get them to flash white. Please help i dont want to have to reoder a replacement for a replacement :(

That’s funny. And it doesn’t work? Did you following the instructions in the video? You need to make sure that you place the replacement in the case and press hold the button for as long as the flashing light pops up.

@@matthewssalim2632 The only thing I did was update my iPhone in the settings. After my iPhone updated, I was able to connect my AirPods and iPhone.

My airpod pro has the same issue. I got a replacement for the left side but it wont pair with the right side. I can pair just the right side with amber light turning white, and I can pair just the left one. But when both pod are in, they refuse to pair.
Make sure they are both genuine Apple airpods. Then try resetting them by forgetting the airpods in the Bluetooth settings and press hold the reset button while the lid is on until it’s flashing white
@@CamTechElearning thanks for the reply. I think it is a firmware issue since I bought them a year ago and this replacement is completely new shipped directly from Apple. I'm on Android so there's no way for me to check firmware version or update them unfortunately.
Oh, that might be the reason. The only way you can update its firmware is through an iPhone
So basically...
Step 1. Open AirPod Case
Step 2. Remove Defective AirPod, Replace with new.
Step 3. Case led flashes amber, hold button on the back until led flashes white.
Step 4. Click Connect
Step 5. Open and close lid and check for Green Led..
