If you're going to do a review on how things work, it might be a brilliant idea to actually show what you're pointing at.
How do you produce a walk through without showing the console? This is quite unfortunate.
?? The console is on screen. Its controlled that way. Non hardware faders to show
Uh... how about a top-down shot to actually "see" what they're talking about?
Yep . would make this easier to follow. Could at least have included some still overlays to help illustrate the way the desk is played out
They dont want you to see the limitations of the Board. I dont see any inserts?
@@audiosolutions201 no inserts :/
exactly what I thought... why do I want to look at them?
@@audiosolutions201 And no "On-Off" ...!!!
great explanation of everything. its worth mentioning though, that this thing can even be used „headless“, means when turned on it resumes where it was left off. So not neccessary need to start the computer, ipad or anything.
Is this about the mixer or two of you showing off in the camera???
Can't you tell me how to save the rever and echo on the signature, when I fix it and disconnect it from the power, it returns to the first condition again, no, and I kept it in the mfx store.
I know it has Left and Right Masters out to Speakers, But I also have 2 Subwoofer.
How would I connect those?? and how about monitors speakers??
Asymmetric EQ is neat wow
Hi are you able to play music on say iTunes or Virtual DJ or any other music player on your mac while recording your instrument and voice in a DAW, I used to be able to do this on the Yamaha MG10XU, I had to change it to the Soundcraft, but can't get it to play music while I record into the DAW
Is it possible to have live audio running into your DAW via usb, add plug-ins and then return it to the channel strip, all in real time? Essentialy having it function as a usb insert? (I know this would introduce some latency, but I am mainly recording synths and sequencers so its fine)
yes.
I understood it very well 🤷♂️
It would have been nice to have a close view of the mixer itself...it was quite hard to follow you on this one...
I want a multi track mixer that multi tracks post EQ and FX. Unfortunately this one only allows for stereo recording of the master bus
You're confusing it with the standard Signature 22. The Signature 22MTK is 24-in/22-out.
Absolutely!
Lack of low end from main outs. Any advice?
Hi, i'm having trouble getting my Soundcraft Signature 12MTK to work well with OBS on my MAC, OBS is seeing the mixer but its not producing any sound, my mics are not working, music is not being played, but it shows the mixer quite alright on OBS but simply not producing sound, any helps please, thanks
in OBS there is a setting to turn off „monitor“, make sure its on. When creating and assignimg a new source its „monitor off“ by default.
@teevee tvdesign Thanks, I was finally able to fix it back then, so we're all good now
@10:31 u mentioned something about it being possible to get the post-eq on a recording via the master. just want to be sure that is true, cuz i have heard otherwise
I'm possibly gonna get the MTK 12 for my new set-up as i'm currently using my Xone 4D as my mixer... I'm new to the production world so not too sure on the various lingo, but i've read on various websites and forums online that the MTK 12 can't record the sound from it into the DAW with the onboard effects/EQ's applied... AS far as i can see, that would make the EQ's/effects redundant as i can't record them into Ableton... Is that right or have i got that wrong!!?!? This is the only reason why i haven't bought it yet, so an answer from someone would be great. Cheers
@Zero Cool Thanks. Do you if it's possible to send it to the DAW with EQ"s applied from the MTK?
@Zero Cool Nice!! :)
@@richardjames111 I think that the ad/da converters on this are located after the preamp and before the eq section, so after the preamp (before eq) the signal goes to your pc and it returns there just before the eq, so you dont record eq for seperate channels but you can record the stereo mix that has been effected by eq. A way to do it is to take an after fader (afl) aux out and return it to a different channel and record that (so you have your eq and faders recorded) but you are limited to 5 channels or 3 if you are also using the built in effects, also you can use that way the groups to have 2 more stereo in this occassion (or 4 mono by using the pan pot hard left for ch 1 hard right for 2... left for 3, right for 4). So you can record 7 processed channels with fx or 9 without by using 14 or 18 channels and 7or 9 cables. If you already have this console try it or tell me if you find other ways around. I also think to buy one, for my home studio and maybe a live sometimes
Its an analogue mixing desk. The idea is for you to use the mixing desk to mix your tracks to one stereo file. You have to ask why would you want to use a mixer to return individual tracks? Do you want to mix digitally? (Get a Tascam 12) or do you want a warm analogue mix?
are the sub outs and the aux outs balanced outs?
So the channels outputs to the USB input (to say your DAW) are PRE-Channel strip? So you only get RAW audio. So the EQ, FX and Fader do absolutely nothing to the signal your DAW will receive . Not Very Clear Is It...
Same like mackie 1620i...?
Unless you send it to an aux and route it to a different channel input
I didn't bother buying this in the end not enough info and bought the TASCAM Model 24 (which also has internal multitrack recording) love it!!
Does it send audio into the DAW as pre fader or post? Can it be switchable?
Hello Both brother,
Should you help guide to me build a medium commercial sound studio
“Low volume input in daw “ is that solved?
It's by design. Analog signals = -18dbfs. That means the "0" on an analog meter is 18 decibels below digital maximum. In order to safeguard against people crushing the input and clipping the converters, is to send a line-level signal via USB return. Just boost it up with plugins.
It doesn't need "solving".
Overhead view please 🙏
Which type of Jack should be used for group out stereo or mono
All Group and Auxillary output channels on the Signature series provide balanced connections. The use of balanced TRS 1/4" jacks is recommended. Depending on the inputs of your connected devices, TRS to male XLR adapter cables may be nescessary. Hope this helps, Namaste.
Does anyone know how to use the mixer with Zoom call?
What about outboard gear like if I want to use a boutique mic pre or some compressors?
Just plug your outboard into the line input. I use Audient preamps for the first 8 channels on mine and sometimes plug in transformer-based preamps for microphones that need them. The stock preamps are not bad at all for most things but their line amps are very clean.
Can you guys suggest me the best software for multitrack recording with this mixing console
Can this control Logic or Protool tracks? Do the faders connect to the DAW's digital faders and move?
Unfortunately not. What you’re after is a midi controller mixer. They look like mixers, but they’re really just big midi controllers meant to do exactly what you describe
This board is meant more for traditional analog mixing, but using a DAW in place of a tape machine. You do the actual mix outboard, and then re-record the finished mix back into the DAW when you’re done
Hope that helped!
bong Electronic is watching
Would be better to have a overhead cam, i have no idea wat they’re talking about 👎🏻
Bit nervous boys
Scrolling down and looking at all the other comments I don’t think you even read what we are all saying Lee. 🙁
Anybody have any problems with this board?
I think a few people had issues with the power supply on the earlier models.
A freind of mine blew the mic preamp on the first channel by unplugging a dynamic mic whilst fantom power was switched on.
I don't think it has individual phantom power for each channel with a mic input. Might be wrong. Though.
The eqs are sweet though. Especially on the first couple of channels that have an option of engaging a dbx compressor.
I tested my desk by playing with overdriving sources into the limiters. Sounded awesome
This is a fantastic product. And Andertons are a fantastic company. But lee why did you let them publish this video. It shows you nothing of the mixer. Your reviews are the best out there but this is rubbish and needs to be done again. There are no good reviews of this product on the Internet and your reviews are usually the best so l had high hopes for the review but you never even get a single shot of the mixer it's as though they couldn't be bothered as it wasn't a new product.
Was about to ‘bite the bullet’ on a presonus AR12, but I stumbled across this. Anyone got any comments or anything else I should checkout first? Primary use will be for home recording.
Well, there are a number of good mixers out there. I bought an Allen&Heath QU-16 from Andertons a while back, which is a digital desk, with flying faders. Been absolutely great so far. But of course more than twice the price of this. Probably the most important question is...What do you want to do with the mixer? Home recording? Live use? Both?
Do you need the desk to have a multiple input/outputs to a DAW? (This certainly does, and seems to be a feature of many desks out there, these days). Something like this at this price, given it is effectively a 24 in /22 out USB audio interface, does make one wonder why one would buy a standalone interface, given you sort of get a mixer thrown info "free".
Admittedly, standalone interfaces will probably give you "better" sound quality, and possibly more variations on how to sync with other gear. But looks like a bargain to me!
And to be perfectly honest if it will give you clean audio at 44.1 Khz (and/or 48 KHz if you do video) at 16 bit or above...
{Just checked. does 48K at 24 bit. Plenty for home, and to be frank, most uses!}
Not really answering your question, but would be good to know exactly what you require a mixer for!
Hi Jonny, again. Just had a look at the Presonus. Smaller, fewer channels, cheaper yes, but would the extra channels on the Soundcratf be useful/necessary for you?
Also, as i allied to, i personally wouldn't worry about the 96KHz option on the Presonus. Someone will be bound to jump in and say it;s better, but specs be damned. The soundcraft
will be fine.
Out of the two, this one is the one i would go for, at the price. Soundcraft gear in my experience is always damned good for the money.
But best to draw up a list of what you NEED, then a list of what you would LIKE, then a list of what you think MIGHT be useful in the future. There are plenty of amazing desks out there in this price bracket. But from what i can see, this would do the job, fine.
I'm trading in my Focusrite Pro 40 interface for this mainly for the superior Ghost Mic Pres, and the fact with the mixer end you can set up for Zero Latency.
@Northwest Connection Hi are you able to play music on say itunes or Virtual DJ or any other music player on your computer while recording your instrument and voice in a DAW, I used to be able to do this on the Yamaha MG10XU, I had to change it to the soundcraft, but can't get it to play music while I record into the DAW
Me Thumbs up here👍.must get it ASAP.
you guys put 3 cameras and not a single top down of the board itself? who's paying you guys jesus
Lee this is a dreadful video and reflects badly on Andertons. Could you not redo it properly. Please
I quit watching, why don't you show the surface of the console? You need an overhead camera. Awful
this is how NOT to demonstrate ANYTHING, let alone sound mixing console...
This should be re-titled "The back of the Soundcraft Signature 22MTK Mixer" It would have taken two minutes to whip out an iPhone, shoot a B-roll of overheads and close-ups of all the parts he's describing and slot them in over this near-continuous shot of two blokes pointing at stuff. Boring and lazy.
Unfortunately the camera perspective leaves the viewer at a disadvantage. Thumbs down.
Just seems like you are just trying to plug a sale? I noticed that the mixer has no inserts?
That forces you to use the onboard processor which is limited.
In my books this is only good for vlogers not studio application as you cannot interface outboard gear without using up channels on the mixer.
Thumbs down Soundcraft

I think the inserts only come from plugins in your daw, because the audio routes back and forth over usb and returns to the mixer. Im trying to figure out all the cons about this thing because everyone acts like its the greatest thing around.
I'm not sold on it I'm afraid.
Has some good features but also has some serious limitations
You donot have an idea about mixer
BS
just standing there and talking crap instead of diving into the real thing and doing a demo
