  • Finally, I've come to the point where I can discuss how to properly wear the equipment and uniform discussed in the previous videos over the past several months. While my impression isnt fully accurate, this video can give a great example as to how you should put on and wear your equipment, and what the final result should look like.
    Hopefully you can now set yourself up for success and look like an authentic World War One Imperial German Soldier in the Kaisers Army, whether for some world war one airsoft, ww1 reenactment, or just having fun.
    My series on getting started with WWI reenactment will continue later on, but for now the series will be as is.

      There are some differrences bettwen the austrian infantry and the hungarian one on top of the cap there would be fji(franz joshep imperitor) and ifj for hungarian units also the austrians would have putties and the hungarians would have breches with a knot.

    Nice video. One thing that confuses me a lot about Great War German uniforms is the trousers.What type would be most commonly worn with the m15 blouse? They had three different trousers, it's pretty confusing.

    • @Wolfof1918
      @Wolfof1918  Рік тому +3

      Really any type, the most common would of course be the M15 trousers but on mine I use the prewar model.

      Now I myself do not know, but I would try and contact a member of the regiment that you hope to join to see if they know any good places.
      Are you doing stuff with the GWA in Newville?

      Gavin Smith I have not joined a unit yet but that’s the area I would go to to re-enact when I have the gear

    • @gavinsmith6516
      @gavinsmith6516 3 роки тому

      UnicornfoeGaming:
      Okay. Well the GWA website has all the units listed as well as contact information, so I would contact some of the American units just to get an Idea if what you need. Typically I would say see if you can talk to some at Army Heritage Day in Carlisle PA because that’s where I found the site I use, but that’s not until May.
      I know you can also find lots of stuff for the Americans at Great War Militaria in Chambersburg PA, however most of it is original and as a result it is rather pricey.
      I don’t think I can provide any further guidance beyond that as I am getting started in a German unit.

    Question: where do you get this gear?

  • @Roblox2025
    @Roblox2025 3 роки тому +3

    Do we have to import because I don’t believe the the quality from a uk made item is any less different than a Chinese made equipment except that’s it’s slightly off color. Your squad leader ether has a bias against non European made stuff or that the Russians manage to convince the wwi reanactment community into mandating the European made only items so that way Americans would pay more than they spend which I think it’s messed up

    • @Wolfof1918
      @Wolfof1918  3 роки тому +2

      As someone who has seen and used the Chinese made equipment, as well as seen in person the Chinese made uniforms, I can tell you with a lot of confidence they are absolute trash in comparison, don’t hold up to any wear, and are extremely uncomfortable or literally can’t be used.
      This isn’t a matter of “europe VS Asia” it’s a matter of quality.
      Not to mention buying from China still requires imports...
      EDIT: many items from the UK are of poorer quality, although most leather gear is going to be similar no matter where you get it from.
      The best boot makers are civil war boots (USA) and lederarsenal (European based)
      The best uniform makers are mundery jerama (polish) and Schusters (Belorussian) although some private tailors exist that do substantial work too.
      The best repro gas mask makers are kukreplik in the Czech Republic and a couple guys within the GWA in Pennsylvania
      Those are far from being uniquely Russian or uniquely European.

      Wolf of 1918 mabye for some items yes but there are also some goods ones out there besides I have no problems with European made items the issue is that you are forced to pay unreasonable shipping costs, if these items are shipped from the u.s I would not as much. One more to note is that I don’t think these uniforms are particularly rare as they made like millions of them. The reason why I believe is that most are still in Europe and thus can’t be access as well. One evidence to point is that finding a original wwi American uniform on EBay usually cost you about $150-250 for just the pants and jacket. In contrast the jacket alone from what price glory cost about $200, keep in mind this is just the us and they didn’t made as much uniforms as Germany, which they made probably around 7-10 million. There are exceptions of course but since you are forced to buy original for some items, why not extend to uniforms as well. Lastly did the Russians paid you by any chance.

      Wolf of 1918 since I have to wait a year to buy a gun I will import the stuff from the correct store, but i am I going to be asked to replace anything from another store a year down or less down the road because I want to keep my gear until it’s worn beyond use?
