Erik won Swedish Idol 2009. He was The lead singer in H.E.A.T for 10 years. Then he fought and won a battle against leukemia. He joined skid row in 2022 (when He auditioned for Idol he did Skid Row 's18 and life).
He just left the band, now focussing on a book and UA-cam. He is an amazing singer but also person, humble and so genuine, very committed to his fans. Supernice guy!

I've been watching different reaction videos of this utterly magnificent performance, and also watching the original post of Erik's yt channel... and every single time, it brings me to tears. What an unbelievable voice, and what power of emotion that is brought to this song! Erik did such an amazing cover of this song and the sax is perfect. Dolly Parton wrote this song and first recorded it. It is beautiful also however Erik did more the Whitney version that she recorded for the Bodyguard movie. Dolly made a lot of money when Whitney recorded her song❤. In this video after listening to both performaces one after the other i would love for you to share your opinion as to which of these two singers sang this song the best and why( Judika or Erik Gronwall).This should be a showstopper.

I never knew about Erik Grönwall either, until I stumbled upon his video singing #IWillAlwaysLoveYou just this past weekend. Since then, I found out he won, I think it's the foreign version of (American) Idol in 2009. Then he was the lead singer for Skid Row for about 2-3 years. But had to leave the band bcoz he was diagnosed with cancer. He chose to prioritize his health & well-being. Hopefully he's doing much better since.

I was thinking you'd already done this one last week. Glad you've done it now. Erik is one of my very favorite singers. I heard him the first time, singing "Breaking the Silence" with Dan Vasc. I see that others have already mentioned that song. Hoping you will react to it, soon! 😀His last name is pronounced: GROWN' vall (as in "fall").
After watching "Breaking the Silence," I watched other new videos wherein Erik collaborated with other artists, then I was keeping up with him being on tour last year, when he suddenly got hit by a TON of illnesses (which are explained in the following paragraph).
I looked down through the comments, and have only seen one other person mention that Erik (for the past couple of years) had been fighting leukemia. If you start looking at Erik's channel, from a few years back, you'll see how he started looking more and more haggard. Then, just a little over a year ago, he got a bone marrow implant, which has made a HUGE difference. He is now pronounced "cured," but because of the implant, he is just beginning to get new immunities. He has a video about all of that, on his channel.
