Man...its 2020 and I found this video to be a blessing. Keep up the good work man
Thx for that awesome tutorial. It gives me the idea to trigger my character walking trough the wall.
That viewer of the destructible mesh is bad without extra lights🥲. It’s just all black. Is there a way to teleport right in front of it instead of searching it?
Ingame it doesn’t show my material but only that grey World Default one.
Hello, I don't understand why my destructible mesh is breaking only once. I smash it with a sword, is good. Only a part of the wall is broken and the rest stay in place. But if I smash again, the wall is trow away but the other part don't split
Thanks man! this was very helpful.
hi there, if you don't want the destroyed meshes hanging around, what is the best way to fade them out once they've come to rest?
@@nobody5825-b3l it’s a good question, but ultimately this system has been retired. I would make sure to use the new chaos destruction
Nice Tutorial, Great job. thanks
How do you change the material that is displayed in the fractures (e.g. how you did for the nice orange glow)
It should just generate another material slot, where you can create an emissive material. However...with Unreal 4.26 you should probably switch / learn Chaos...I have a few hidden tutorials here: ua-cam.com/video/aQqB7sLrYeg/v-deo.html
In UE v 4.23 the second mesh material (the inside one) doesn't respond, any advice how to fix this problem? :)
thanks for introduce :)
Have you succeeded?
Now there is no way on 4.25 :(
@@盧冠宇-o6n As I remember, They stop to update this feature (maybe something new has come up nowadays, I don't know) :C
Good turorial, thanks a lot
So what i’m trying to do is have a destructible mesh on my enemy characters so when you shoot them pieces of them break off. I think it may be wishful thinking but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe when your character is hit "hide" the permanent pieces, then spawn pieces of "broken" armor with particle systems
Shaun Foster you are not the first person to recommend this. Do you know of any good examples of this being done with effects?
@@everettlee79 - it's a "core" technique to use... Nothing directly comes to mind. Maybe the newest Niagara tutorials for Unreal might give you some ideas?
AWESOME!!!!!
Thanks!
Which in your opinion is the best lighting bake method for destructible meshes? (Something that will not interefere with baked volumetric lighting)
Very good question! Also interested to know
Hi Shawn
I followed the FPS Series by Virtus - This Video is the setup for the projectile >>
Firing Our AK-47 Weapon - #9 Creating A First Person Shooter (FPS) With Unreal Engine 4
I made a new Projectile blueprint, as im using the third person template...
I have applied a Radial Force Component to the projectile as you talk about in this tutorial.
But it doesnt cause any damage on a Destructible object?
I have applied "Enable Impact Damage" to the Destruct mesh.
If I fire at a Destructible, it does nothing.
Thanks for any help
Thanks. Great tutorial. But, I think your keyboard has to be the loudest on the planet.
Ha! You're right! I got that feedback a lot from the producer I worked with at Pluralsight! It's a Kinesis Keyboard...It does help my wrists though...
how do i get this plugin?
It's built-in! :D Just turn it on!
fanks
Apex Destruction is really badly explained.. all parameter have no information on what they really do.. Chunk Parameters, what does it do? you activate buttons and have no difference in game..
